It seems to me that TPTB at Newsmax are trying to be realistic about the situation. I want Trump to have a second presidential term, but things don’t look too good for him right now.

Saying “things don’t look good for Trump right now” isn’t accurate. There is no “thing.” It’s over; Biden is the President Elect. There’s no more levers for Trump to pull.

President-elect is not a precise definition so it is ok. The US Senate and House members may contest on January 6 when the count is made and it may result in a different outcome. Also there may be a effective legal decision made before January 20 that could result in a different outcome.

The article presents two statements:
  • “As a result of the Electoral College vote Joe Biden is the president-elect and will be referred to as such on Newsmax”
  • “We also recognize Pres[ident] Trump continues to contest the results and we will cover aspects of that news story.”

Probably because that would be extremely dangerous for the US’s continued existence as “one nation, under God”. It would also require military support, and the brass seem like they won’t back Trump. As the right have said for the past four years “you lost, get over it”*.

*Not aimed at any poster in this thread.

I find it interesting how important it is for some people to hear republicans concede the election. It’s almost like they realize it was crooked and they can’t relax until the other side assures them that they won’t question it anymore.

What a strange take. People want everyone to accept the election results BECAUSE NOT DOING SO THREATENS OUR DEMOCRACY.

 The 126 Retrumplicans who had signed off on the Amicus Brief brought before the Supreme Court of the United States was an act of Treason because they violated their Congressional oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. The Constitution unequivocally and unambiguously defines how a President is elected. Any Congressman or President (Who also takes a similar oath of office) who tries to overturn am election is guilty of sedition and treason.

Don’t expect to change anyone’s minds. As much as we may want to believe that Catholics wouldn’t materially support killing us and taking our money to finance increased access to abortions, it isn’t the case for whatever reasons.

I find that the petty, snippy, arrogant, condescending voices here HATE disagreement. That is not political, it is a failure of the maturation process. Many in the middle do not know what to believe. With all sources of information teaching against truth or even the search for it, it’s no wonder why America is falling.
