I agree that a person can lose their salvation if they turn their back on God. I use the example of Judas. We read in the Gospels that Jesus sent our 12 apostles and later 72 to preach around the country. Jesus gave them authority over demons, illness, injury, and even death. So Judas spent time healing the sick and lame, driving our demons and raising the dead, acts which evidence the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Yet, Judas turned his back on Jesus, not when he betrayed Jesus to the temple guards, but when he committed suicide instead of repenting. Also in the sixth chapter of Hebrews there is a warning about those who fall away after receiving the light.
Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
However, this judgement is up to God. I have learned from experience not to count anyone out when it comes to the power of Jesus.
