Andrew_11:
I just joined this protestant forum after I read this thread and I have started a thread there, check it out, lets get more of us to join that forum and defend catholocism.my thread
bibleforums.org/forum/showthread.php?p=516479#post516479
I checked it out and it was a fruitless discussion. All I can say is that at least now we all know the score on what they think.
I suggest that we just let this issue die. There is nothing to be gained by going there to attempt to dialog with those who are unwilling.
We have already seen how BJackson, who purports to be some sort of evangelist to Catholics distorts the teachings and history of the church. I knew he was messed up when he attempted to use the donation of Constantine as a source for the allegation that the pope’s miter has that non-existent latin title that adds up to 666 on it. The donation document is a famous forgery. But he won’t check that.
When he alleged that the Catholic Church murdered most of the Anabaptists I knew where he was getting his info; the infamous “Trail of Blood” that is as full of fictitious allegations as anything that Ellen G. White and the SDA have written against us.
His is not real honest research or information, but misinformation and allegations based on any anti-Catholic source he can find.
Now you all know, and can recognize his organization for what it is…and Godwilling, answer them and all like them.
If this is the level of commitment to truth that
Baptist.org wishes to go by, then so be it…but it is a smear on the good name of the Baptist churches all over the world.
I close with one of my favorite quotes from Bishop Fulton J. Sheen.
“Few people in America hate the Catholic religion,
but there are many who hate
what they mistakenly believe is the Catholic religion
—and if what they hate really were the Catholic religion,
Catholics would hate it too.”
Peace be with you all.
