Why you don’t ask these questions in a new thread?
It seems to me, asking questions about Quran verses is appropriate, considering the title and theme of this thread.

See, you’re avoiding the question, yet again. This thread is about ‘beautiful’ verse of Quran. So I posted a verse from the Quran. Is that verse not beautiful to you?

I assumed you were more an authority on Quran verses than I. Who should I ask those questions too?

Do you think we can discuss about all verses wrote here?

Yes, or at least I had thought we could. I posted a verse from the Quran and asked a question about it, but it appears you are not going to answer any direct questions about that verse. This only leaves one to assume that there are ‘beautiful’ and ‘not so beautiful’ verses in the Quran, as you’re only willing to discuss certain verses posted in this thread.

What are these sentences? I good trying to make me continiue the discuss?

O.K. I accept. But you ask just 1 question and I answer and when you have no more question about that, you ask a new Question. OK?

I think it is better to rename this thread to “Your Questions about Quran?”

37 : Then the sects differed *, so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that 'Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allah] from the meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).
  1. In the Muslim view, are Christians considered disbelievers who give false witness, according to that verse?*

Prodigal Son, please do not give the verse number only. You must give the chapter too. I do not know which chapter of the Quran verse 37 is being discussed. Give full reference.

Also it would be better if you gave the verse before and the verse after too. That will give some context and matter will be understood more easily.

Inyour question, you should give (present) the chapter number and verse 36, 37,38. That will help us. Thank you.

Quran Chapter 19 - Quran Translation of Surah Maryam (Mary)

36 (Iesa (Jesus) said): “And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allahs Religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets).” (Tafsir At-Tabaree)
37 Then the sects differed (i.e. the Christians about Iesa (Jesus) ), so woe unto the disbelievers (those who gave false witness by saying that Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allah) from the meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).
38 How clearly will they (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) see and hear, the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error.

“disbliever” is the meaning gave for “کافر”. this word is translated to “heathen”, “impious”, “infidel”, “pagan”, “paynim”, “unbeliever”, “unbelievin” and “unvelieving” in English. but “کافر” in arabic words mean the one who deny the reality.

In Mulsims’ view Christians are unbelievers not cause of this verse, but because they deny the prophethood of prophet Muhammad and they believe in trinity. Quran in 19:72-73 says every one says jesus is God and beieve in trinity, is unbieliever.(Sorry my English is not good and I can’t filnd a good word in English whitch be a good translation for “کافر”)

The New Testament says: “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”(1 John2:22)

All relegions deny other relegions. It is so common. If a relegion is true it must excommunicate other relegions cause it is the true relegion of God.

But we don’t think Christians are like infidels and atheists. Quran says they are best friends for Muslims:
you will find the closest in affection to those who believe are those who said:" We are Nazarenes(=Christians)"(Quran5:82)

And relationship with Christians and Jews and other people who believe in a relegion whitch some day was true has difference whith relationship whith infidels and atheists.

Thanks Prodigal Son, I have understood. But i do not know from where you have taken the translation of the verses. You have mentioned the Tabari.
There is too much interpolation in the translation which is permitted. But the one you have used may alter the true meaning of the verses.

May I try to translate it for you please??

36 (Iesa (Jesus) said): "And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allahs Religion of Monotheism )
37 Then the sects differed , so woe unto the beligrant harsh enemy type disbelievers (Kaafirs, Jews who were the enemy of Jesus) from the meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).
38 How clearly will they (polytheists and enemy type disbelievers) see and hear, the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in clear (plain) error.

Please note that the word Kaafir is used for the enemy of truth to whom the good message is passed, he/she understands the message but does not believe in the message. He/she not only disbelieves but tries best to oppose the good work and message of the prophets. He/she is ready to go to war against the messengers of God. That could mean the enemies of Moses and Jesus and Muhammad. They were all Kaafir.

In the time of Moses, it was the king Pharoah and his high profile members who were Kaafir. In the time of Jesus, they were his own people who wanted to harm (kill) Jesus on the cross.

In the verse 19:37, are meant the enemies of Jesus. So it means "so woe unto the beligrant harsh enemies (of Jesus) from the meeting of a great Day

My friend, the verse has nothing to do with the christians who followed and obeyed Jesus. That translation you presented was done by some one who stretched the matter too far into the future. Verse is discussing the matters during the time of Jesus when he preached to the people to obey and worship the One God ( The Lord God of Israel). Some believed in him and followed him. The others opposed him.

So the warning is to the opponents of Jesus, not to the friends of Jesus i.e. The christians.
I hope it is understood.

Your post seems to contradict itself in that the word is ‘disbeliever’, which you provided the translations for, and among those translations is ‘infidel’.

What you may fail to realize is, ‘Trinity’ is God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit…ONE God.

77 Say (O Muhammad SAW): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Exceed not the limits in your religion (by believing in something) other than the truth, and do not follow the vain desires of people who went astray in times gone by, and who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the Right Path.”
78 Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawood (David) and Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.
79 They used not to forbid one another from the Munkar (wrong, evildoing, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do.
80 You see many of them taking the disbelievers as their Auliya (protectors and helpers). Evil indeed is that which their ownselves have sent forward before them, for that (reason) Allahs Wrath fell upon them and in torment they will abide.
81 And had they believed in Allah, and in the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and in what has been revealed to him, never would they have taken them (the disbelievers) as Auliya (protectors and helpers), but many of them are the Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
82 Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikoon (see V.2:105), and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: “We are Christians.” That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.
83 And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: "Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses.
84 “And why should we not believe in Allah and in that which has come to us of the truth (Islamic Monotheism)? And we wish that our Lord will admit us (in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection) along with the righteous people (Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Companions).”
85 So because of what they said, Allah rewarded them Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise), they will abide therein forever. Such is the reward of gooddoers.
86 But those who disbelieved and belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they shall be the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire.

Religion do deny each other. Both of our religions go back to the God of Abraham. It is still ONE God. Just as you do not believe Jesus was the Son of God, we don’t believe in your prophet. God did not divide.

yes, and they will be in the hell fire for worshipping jesus.

catholics also believe muslims and other sects of christianity are going to hell. don’t try to deny it/

john 3:16 For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him

likewise can be said about those criticising Islam. smile
I think it’s a shame that we have to learn what we know about Islam from the media, due to extremists. I will admit it prejudices my opinion, which is a fault of my own.

With these thoughts in mind, I apologize for my attitude in this thread. I don’t know your, friendship’s or Planten’s intentions here. I’ll be honest and say, I feel it’s for the purposes of proselytizing. I can be wrong and pray that I am.

I can no more learn about Islam from reading the Quran as I don’t believe you can learn about Catholicism/Christianity by reading the Bible.

Just as ‘one’ Catholic does not represent all Catholicism, ‘one’ Muslim cannot represent all Islam. Again, it’s a shame that the loud minority draws our attention as a representation.

We all worship the same God, even though our perceptions are different. I don’t expect you to change religions and I certainly have no intentions of changing my faith. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t treat each other with respect, with the love of God in our hearts. Just as I love God, and sharing my faith, I will try to understand you also love God and therefore love sharing your faith.

We sing a song in our worship for God to let there be peace and let that peace begin with me. With that song in mind, I extend my wishes for the peace of God to be you.

If any wish to start a new with a dialogue and I decide to participate, I will try to be more understanding and have faith in my fellow man. Again, I apologize for my doubts of what you, friendship and planten have said.

I don’t know if you’ve ever done the all muslims are terrorists routine, but any human will get defensive when you attack their religion, God, or prophet which will lead to anger and frustration. I had been nothing but kind until people like dzhermi, jasakai, mosacked, kathleengee etc. started insulting Islam and calling Allah a moon good and labeling the prophet as a pedo. We can peacefully disagree. smile.

this is probably the most beautiful post I have come across on this forum. Thank you. When I am dealing with you I will try to maintain the same level of respect you show me. I cannot say the same for other members here.

**Whoa there dude!~

I do not hide the fact that I don’t care for islam or islams self proclaimed prophet mohamad and that your book the koran is nothing but nonsence…

But I have NEVER, NEVER EVER called your god allah a “moon god” and I HAVE NEVER EVER "labeled your prophet as a pedo!

Regardless how much I dispise islam, I’ve never posted any such things.

Point to MY posts where I’ve done that!

**

I have never called or posted that mohamad is a “pedo”

I have never called or posted that allah is a “moon god”

And yes, I despise islam and I do not hide it, but those two things which I am accused of by poster “black ice” are not warrented!

Edit to add:

Yeah, I’m p!ssed beyond anything right now!

**@ poster black ice

Show me my posts where I’ve called your self proclaimed prophet a “pedo”

Show me my posted where I’ve called your allah a “moon god”**
