There won’t be any slavery reparation checks. What a absurd notion
None? Another disappointment!

I do remember that Obama mis-characterized Ms. Harris. He once said while president that she was the most attractive attorney general in the US. This was while we had Lisa Madigan in IL!

I bet Republican fundraising gonna go through the roof this week.
I would take that bet…the deep pockets have already turned away from Trump…more telling than fund raising will be who gets a boost in the polls following the announcement…Trump or Biden…but, keep in mind if Biden does its fake polls, and Trump has real numbers showing him far in the lead…will probably only serve to further the phony outcry about fraud in mail in voting, when Trump realizes he can’t win and all he can do is cast doubt on the will of the people.

Joe Biden will win California no matter what?
California has gone to the democrats in every election since Bill Clinton (1992). I don’t think Biden had to do anything specific to win California given that it has voted that way for the past 27 years.
It’s quite possible that Californians are getting pretty fed up with what’s happening in their state, noting the large exodus from it. We might all be surprised, come election time.

Reps. like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler, not to mention Sen. Dianne Feinstein have all proven to be mean-spirited, intolerant and just plain vindictive. Judge Kavenaugh is just one example of their inexcusable treatment of people they oppose. Surely, Californians have been watching closely.

And that’s not including the despicable way the homeless crisis has been (not)handled, the dirty city streets, the needles, the refusal to prosecute crimes in that state, the public eliminations of bladders and bowels while Nancy Pelosi goes on TV and brags about her $40,000 freezer filled with exotic ice creams.

Sort of reminds me of Nero fiddling while Rome burned, or Marie Antoinette saying, “Let them eat cake” when told her people were starving for lack of bread.

I can’t imagine Californians not taking note of all of that, and a whole lot more.

There may be a major shake-up at the polls come November, and it could easily go in Mr. Trump’s favor.

I wish I had your optimism re Ca.One of my daughter’s and her husband live out there and she has done a complete 180 since living there for eight years She will never vote for Trump🙄

I thought he promised to pick a female running mate but didn’t specify her racial background. Gretchen Whitmer and Elizabeth Warren made the short-list, I believe. Having said that, I predicted his running mate would be black after the George Floyd riots erupted.

I think we should choose our candidates based on qualifications. Not gender or color. That is pandering at its worst

So Jews are loudly and vehemently pro-abortion? That sounds a bit anti-semitic to me.
As Michael Medved has said with Jews, it’s basically like Catholics, ones who attend temple weekly like many Catholics go to Mass weekly are usually Conservative and they will be against abortion. I do see a point in talking about “voting blocs”, if you have whatever ethnicity, etc. but that still doesn’t speak for all.

Correction her ancestors were slave owners
What about the ‘gens libre de couleur’ in Louisiana? They don’t get slavery reparations checks, either. However, they still had to live with racial discrimination, didn’t they?

Research the veep choices of Lincoln and JFK. As I stated above: “I want someone to tell me that, although she aided the ticket, Sarah Palin was the most qualified choice for vice president in 2008.”

She wasn’t s ,never said so.John McCain also wasn’t really a republican and he ran a lousy campaign.

The posts I see among similar friends on Facebook seem mostly very happy. (For whatever reason.)

Usually there are calculations made about which v-p candidate will bring the most voters into their running mate’s camp, usually on a geographic basis. Though it’s assumed the candidate will be qualified. I remember all the hay that was made when the elder George Bush picked Dan Quayle as his running mate, which was criticized because he was considered a ‘lightweight’.

Conventional wisdom was he shouldn’t have suspended his campaign to get back to Washington to vote for an emergency economic package - that that decision sealed his fate as it were - though I never understood why.

I want to see the Pence-Harris debate. She has a reputation as a fearsome debater.
“At times, Ms. Harris has created confusion by oscillating between policy positions. Still, her sharp debate skills and affable personality have made her a top-tier contender, just a short time into her first term in the Senate.”
