Correction her ancestors were slave owners
A lot of African Americans have ancestors who were slave owners. There are African Americans today who are descendants of one of the children that Thomas Jefferson had with his slave Sally Hemmings. So at least one of their ancestors, Thomas Jefferson, was a slave owner.
It was quite common for white slave owners to father children with one or more of their slaves. It’s hardly surprising, therefore, that the father of Kamala Harris, a black Jamaican, might have some slave owners in his family tree.

Agree. As I said it was the norm back then. The fact that all these generations later ,we would make reparations to the progeny of these slaves is absurd. They have reaped the benefits of their ancestors suffering. They have been indoctrinated by the Dems into believing they cannot succeed without government help.this only serves to,perpetuate the angst they feel. There are many successful blacks that they can hold up as examp,es,rather than buying into the likes s of Al Sharpton ,Maxine Waters etall Just sain’

Do they say they are now going to vote for the other guy?
Well, I’ll never vote for Trump, because I think he has a serious personality disorder, but with both the Pres and VP possibles (Biden and Harris) firmly in the hands of AIPAC, we will have a much greater chance of going to war with Iran. In addition, we can kiss goodbye all the rest of the progressive agenda, as the government will return to the hands of the rest of the lobbyists also: big pharma, big military, big insurance, etc. etc. It’ll be government by the moneyed, except a slightly different group than Trump.

I’m looking at third parties, as I did in '16.

Harris is an HBCU AKA so she is not an imposter in the minority community. If one is familiar with that status.

No, but they’re afraid that some people won’t vote, especially since Kamala did badly in the primary.
They also think this pick will galvanize Trump’s base.

Good job, Joe! 🤣
I love this quote:

“The 2020 Democratic field has been defined by its turbulence, with some contenders rising, others dropping out and two more jumping in just this month. Yet there is only one candidate who rocketed to the top tier and then plummeted in early state polls to the low single digits: Ms. Harris.”

So, the Democrats are going to show the world how NOT racist and sexist they are by picking a Vice-presidential candidate specifically because of her race and gender? 🤔
Just asking…

I can’t imagine Californians not taking note of all of that, and a whole lot more.

There may be a major shake-up at the polls come November, and it could easily go in Mr. Trump’s favor.
I’m a native Californian and there are red parts of the state, mostly the less populated rural areas, where Trump is no doubt still popular. But he hasn’t got a chance in the rest of the state. Don’t hold your breath waiting for a shake up in California.

There might be a surprise waiting … (Hope springs eternal!)

You pick a candidate that helps you.

Trump had zero cred with the religious crowd. Privately, religious people are a joke to him. Always have been.

That’s why he picked Pence. He picked an evangelical’s evangelical because he didn’t want devout Christian Republicans to not show up to the polls.

Help any?

Biden’s real running mate is COVID-19. As long as people are still sick and dieing, the economy is in the tank and society, in general, is stressed out–Joe can stay home and his campaign is in pretty good shape to win the presidency for him.
Really, that’s about the truth…

Some say that she bent over backward as to Catholics:

"Survivors of clergy abuse and their attorneys say that Harris’ record on fighting sex abuse within the Catholic Church is relevant as the U.S. senator from California campaigns for the presidency as a tough-on-crime ex-prosecutor who got her start prosecuting child sexual abuse cases. They complain that Harris was consistently silent on the Catholic Church’s abuse scandal — first as district attorney in San Francisco and later as California’s attorney general.

In a statement to The Associated Press, the Harris campaign underscored her record of supporting child sex abuse victims but did not address her silence regarding victims abused by Catholic clerics.

“Kamala Harris has been a staunch advocate on behalf of sexual assault victims, especially child sexual assault victims,” the statement said, noting that she “used her position as District Attorney to create the first unit focused on child sexual assault cases in the office’s history.”

The statement said she withheld documents regarding clergy sexual abuse from attorneys and news reporters to protect the identities of victims — reasoning faulted by victims and their lawyers.

Catholics make up large voting blocs in the city and the state, accounting for roughly a quarter of the population in both San Francisco’s metro area and across California.

“There’s a potential political risk if you move aggressively against the church,” said Michael Meadows, a Bay Area attorney who has represented clergy abuse victims. “I just don’t think she was willing to take it.”"

Was this selection made collectively by the Democratic Party? I think it would be necessary for this to be the case for that question to be valid.
