And 0 people died of the flu.

It’s too bad we can’t have actual information to have a conversation about the actual numbers of Covid.

The normal flu season started a month ago and ends in May. What we do know from the CDC about flu is that annually between 12,000 and 61,000 in the US depending on the severity of the season.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

CDC

Just so far this year there have been 283,000 deaths from Covid. So even if Covid is taking some that the flu normally would, the death rate is massively higher.

That’s kind of what I thought.

No need to answer. Just disregard it.
Thats what I expected in reply, just disregard future posts given there is little effort to address the real situation.

100,000 hospital beds used by covid patients today and 2,800 dead of covid in the past 24 hrs.
That is the reality.

We are likely to lose many many more at this rate.
The President-Elect is right.

Actually I thought the same thing only about the position you have taken.
Actually, I thought the same thing only about the position you keep taking.
2,800 deaths in the last 24 hrs, 100,000 in hospital.
Infections are skyrocketing.
This is not a position, this is fact. These are real numbers, no sensationalism in these numbers, they are real.

.

You keep repeating figures without an argument behind them.

The tautology of repetition is not going to strengthen your position unless you spell it out and WHY.

Mandatory Government locking people down has been an utter failure (there are many countries that had very strict lockdowns dealing with spikes of cases). Mandated masking-up as well has helped contribute to this.

All this has accomplished is put-off dealing with the virus.

Still no serious trials of HCT using proper cohorts, no serious look at Ivermectin despite that showing anectodal promise as well.

You can’t double-down on a failure (like Government mandated lockdowns, mandated masking-up, quarantining HEALTHY people and destroying economies and spawning an increase in world hunger not to mention a plethora of domestic problems brought on by these failed policies of mandated Government imposition) and expect it to remedy the problem.

No humility seeker. You have presented no real solutions or potential solutions.

Have you talked to anyone who works at a hospital? I have. The scenes of the height of the pandemic she painted were not pretty and she confirmed it’s getting bad again. She compared it to a war with people dying left and right.

people dying left and right.
This is the “prevention” (which was mere “mitigation”) that "masking-up, social distancing, and quarantining healthy people has given us.

No focus on treatment (like many of us were urging last spring here).

And despite all of that still a wrecked economy for many.

Worldwide famine too.

And now because of the “lockdowns” many haven’t seen their doctors in nine months or more.

The answer is not to double-down on failed policies.

I’d love to see you say that to the face of a health care worker. She had some choice words for people who deny the severity of this.

The deniers are the ones who have been pushing failed policies for nine months. (It would have been longer but they were working on fake impeachment articles.)

Not me.

I’ll be sure to mention that to her next time I go. She lost friends due to Covid. I’m sure she’ll get a kick out of it.

A mere emotional appeal.

The facts are the policies of MANDATED locking down HEALTHY people and fake masking reassurances to those people (not from the some of the experts in many cases though. Even Fauci warned against false assurances of masking. At least initially) has been deleterious.

That’s the policies that have been widely in place and THAT is how we got here.

Mere mitigation (your guy’s policies) means sooner or later results in having to deal with the virus.

We’re on a message board. I have no problem citing people personally as opposed to peer reviewed articles (something your side doesn’t have). If you have a problem with it put me on ignore.

It’s policies like you advocate that have led to people dying. Deal with it.

You keep repeating figures without an argument behind them.
What is to be argued about the real face of covid?
Utterly ridiculous to argue that.
The tautology of repetition is not going to strengthen your position unless you spell it out and WHY.
Utterly ridiculous. These figures need to be repeated daily until it sinks in.

Who cares. Serious trials are not going to slow the spread. The only thing that will is the human desire to slow it.
These sensationalist rags of media outlets that keep arguing that point are contributing to the out of control spread.

I have no problem with an emotional appeal.

But a MERE emotional appeal is not persuasive.

Baloney.

The policies I have advocated have not been tried.

I and others last Spring were on here warning about the need for treatment.

Now your guys are going to make the same mistake all over again with vaccines that effect the blood but not the respiratory epithelium.

Even Fauci has warned you guys (the public) about how that is going to lack efficacy and I know because I am the one who posted it.

Not once in any thread of yours or post of yours Cathoholic, have I read any (name removed by moderator)ut from you on how to slow/ stop the spread.
Without a vaccine.

Well feel free to desire-away against it then.
Baloney

Feel free to start discussing how to stop/slow this spread.
2,800 deaths in the last 24 hrs, 100,000 people in hospital beds.

At least some in leadership have the courage to take unpopular measures to deal with this.

What are we if we reject the empathy of Christ? If we can’t walk in another’s shoes and let that form us as Christians?

“Moreover, I urge you to reflect on “life after the pandemic,” for while this storm shall pass, its grave consequences are already being felt. You are not helpless. You have the culture, the method, and most of all, the wisdom that are kneaded with the leaven of feeling the suffering of others as your own.”
