Yes, I saw the article yesterday evening. A. Dolan does not mince words. But I believe you are correct in that I believe they are waking up to the fact that “we’re not in Kansas anymore.” Aptly put…now if we can just jolt awake the rest of the Christian world…:slapfight:

That there is reason to believe Obama could actually be re-elected indicates we passed the conscience issue long ago. Conscience was determined in our last presidential election. So as Catholics do we refuse to support this govt. with taxes since this govt. kills innocent unborn children?
 
I didn’t vote for him, however, I know of a lot of Catholics who did!These tend to be elderly,lock step democrats that overlooked the abortion issue because of their belief that the Democrats are more concerned with their needs,social issues.It really puzzles me.I have relatives who think this way,problem is ,they really aren’t thinking,just doing what they have done for years:( Wake up people!
 
If the Abortion Holocaust is encouraged to continue by voting for such an admantly Pro -Culture of Death President then methinks, IMHO, the ‘Smite Thee’ button will be pushed on Heaven’s keyboard.

America is certainly not above the Laws of Heaven.
 
I wish we could. It might be the only way our message would be taken seriously. The government is all about control and money.
 
You know, you cannot (or perhaps should not) elect a president on one issue. I do not see the President a wildy promoting abortion. He has stated often that it is the least desired event in the case of pregnancy. I think some of you who are so against social programs should go check some other findings which impact this issue. For one thing, there are typically few abortions during a Democratic administration than Republican. The reason being that there are programs to assist pregnant women. Yes, abortion is a tragedy, but we need to stop being so narrow in our focus of how to change that. How many of the anti-abortion zealots also support/reach out/care for those who have become pregnant or their children. How many of you support women’s shelters. I know that some do, but I challenge the rest of you to put your bodies where your words are.
 
by the way, I did vote for him and will do so again. There are many other admirable facets to this man.

A tempting thought. Certainly a rather much more assertive way is needed at this juncture. I do appreciate the Pulpit for its unserving declaration of the Pro - Life stance of the Church -certainly in my Parish/ Diocese anyway. I wonder if it is now wise, indeed even requisite, to categroically state - from the Pulpit-that one is in violation of the faith to vote for such a heinous cadidate as Obama.

I didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 and there are several reasons why I won’t vote for his re-election this year and the fact he’s pro-choice is one of those reasons.

Well they could certainly do so if they wanted to deal with lawsuits and loss of tax-exempt status.

Surely you jest.Such statements need objective verification i.e. statistical studies. Otherwise methinks you are simply reiterating Democratic programing. Let us also be clear that I too, am no fan of the Republicans on many isses.

I think that is quite accurate of the majority of Catholic Democrats who voted for Obama, frankly. They are still tied to the Democrat party of old, the Democrat party that was blue collar, religious etc. - that is not what the what the modern Democrat party is, it is pro abortion, pro gay ‘marriage,’ funded by the abortion lobby and Hollywood.
 
The abortion issue is key because a country that doesn’t take measures to protect our most innocent neighbors,is a country that is going down the path of deciding who,outside of the womb is worthy of life.Life becomes a ( actually it already has) commodity,to be disposed of,when it is considered no longer useful. The loss of tax monies is no loss in my opinion. Certainly not at the cost of speaking the truth. After this issue -plese explain the foundation for Law suits you mention. On what grounds?
