I am, and I can think of no reason at all. It’s an international story now, its domestic terrorism. This seems like little more than a “woe is us, us poor conservatives” kind of post, a sort of deflection to minimize what has transpired.
Do you remember a lot about the guy who shot Steve Scalise and was trying to kill him and the other congressman on the baseball field that day?

I’d even narrow it down to 40 years. The Republican Party of today isn’t the one of Ronald Reagan.
Yes, narrow it down; but don’t give any explanation. That’s fair.

Please give an explanation? What is wrong? Beating ISIS? Bringing North Korea to the negotiations table? Maybe something more than vague negatives tossed out in a forum. Historic low unemployment rates from some groups? I’m unsure of what the problem is.

Nixon’s Southern Strategy saw the integration of the Dixiecrats into the Republican Party. That certainly changed the Republican Party in the South.

I find it very disappointing and a little suspicious too how Schumer, Clinton and Pelosi and other democrats had their little speeches ready blaming Trump. Who has been filled with so much rage, hate and revenge since the 2016 election? The democrats.
It’s not suspicious in the least. Really. Like any politician, Schumer and Pelosi are always ready to go on camera.

I had some issues with the content of their remarks. While I agree that President Trump is all too quick to condone or even encourage low-level violence on the part of his supporters, and I do wish he would think more before he speaks, he certainly isn’t responsible for these bombings.

That said, maybe we’ve all gotten a little too comfortable with excessive rhetoric and conspiracy theories. I think (I hope) we can all agree with that. Although I’m saddened to see that in this very thread some are whipping up new conspiracy theories.

What do you think, 7?
Considering the vindictiveness and hate Trump has faced from the left since he beat Hillary, I think he has showed a lot of restraint. Granted, a few times he has blown off steam in a few tweets. Considering the hate directed at him and his wife Melania daily for almost 730 days straight from the political left and the Hollywood left and left wing media and considering remarks by Maxine Waters, Eric Holder and Kamala Harris, Trump has shown restraint.
I have not watched a lot of the coverage so I am not up to speed on how the bombs were constructed - if they were hoax bombs or if they were made not to go off or not.

I don’t know about that. Time Warner is pretty close to 5th Avenue if I remember correctly. 🙂

Just a claim. Please name some of these Dixiecrats who became Republicans and that does have to mean 1972 or after, since Wallace ran in 1968.

Georgia only went full Republican in the 1990s or later, Louisiana has still had a heavy Democratic presence.

When Johnson left office, 10 percent of Southern schools were desegregated. When Nixon left, the figure was 70 percent.

Richard Nixon desegregated the Southern schools, something you won’t learn in today’s public schools.

For history is a pack of lies agreed upon.

That he did. Switched from the Democratic to the Republican party after being openly opposed to civil rights laws.
What year did Strom Thurmond become a Republican? 1964? That’s the answer I found. Doesn’t sound like the Southern Strategy at work there.

And that civil rights law only passed because of Republican support.

Oh, when did Robert Byrd become a Republican? Did not then-Governor Bill Clinton sign some bill affirming Arkansas’ Confederate ties??

You called it nonsense, but it has actually happened many times. It might not be this time, but to say that is impossible and nonsense is at odds with history.
I missed the part about someone calling it “nonsense”… where was that? by post 2???

Was it because he was a racist or because he didn’t think Federal Government should be infringing on States Rights?

From fed source: “complete hoaxes” multiple wires when they only needed one. Reports of cell phones being involved was false. So no intention of harm. Now the questions. Dry run, or a false flag from the right or left trying to mess over the other side?

Nothing, zilch here.

Also, after witnessing how Kavanaugh was treated, that was totally false or at the least, not one bit of evidence saying that happened. One does wonder. In campaigns, there are dirty tricks. It’s known to happen and does happen on both sides.

Good question. A lot of older southerners - such as William Faulkner to name one - could never get on board with the whole civil rights program - dismantling ‘separate but equal’ and Jim Crow laws. Were they racist? In retrospect I’d say arguably yes since they were in favor of denying basic rights to their black fellow citizens.

People get called all sorts of “anti” when they oppose federal intervention in areas that are Constitutionally restricted. Republicans are guilty of this too. Maybe they are afraid of being un PC.

So you don’t think these older southerners disagreed with the goal of dismantling Jim Crow, just the means of doing it?
