It will not bode well for law enforcement if the suspect has a history similar to the Parkland shooter. Glad a suspect is in custody either way.
 
And how would our more extreme posters be responding if this same scenario were perpetuated against rightist politicians?

I’m guessing there would be a different tone.

I don’t know. People still respect the FBI after all they’ve done to date. I don’t know what would shake the confidence of the true believers in the good natured state.
 
That van is strange. What is strange is the van is an older style and yet it is very clean looking with good paint. Also the stickers or whatever they are cost money. It reminds me of another van I saw on a TV show:

True, sadly, their credibility is nil with many others, through the actions of many in higher positions of power. It reminds me a lot of the Catholic Church.
 
I would have liked ‘Flo-rid-a’. Then that would have thrown suspicion on the rap star.

If this man is the right man (and remember poor Richard Jewel whose life was ruined by false incrimination) then the spelling mistake seems odd. If that is his van I wouldn’t imagine him making this mistake, unless deliberate. The van seems like ordered chaos and also clean. Then again I’m pretty deliberate and have made plenty of silly mistakes.
 
Heck, I make typos every day. I’d consider myself rather educated and well spoken.
 
I simply added to your comment that provided a description of the person. Now we know his name. Nothing more.
 
Me too. Maybe I’m too much of a perfectionist but if I was going to go to jail for the rest of my life I’d make sure my mailings didn’t make me look stupid. Normally I’d have my wife double check my spelling because she is great at that, but I’d not want her to join me. Not that I want to get away from her but just because she doesn’t deserve prison.

If I were a betting man, I’d wager that the sender did not plan to go to jail (prison) for the rest of their life, knew it was possible but most criminals believe they will get away with crime.
 
It is possible. I do think most people think they can get away with it. But this kind of thing would be very hard to get away with and he didn’t try very hard at all.

If reports are true he was a bodybuilder (possibility of steroids) and strip club worker (degenerate environment with lots of drugs). He is also older. There are many factors that increase the likelihood he isn’t all there, not that I think that is in any way an excuse or absolves him from responsibility. The alleged facts revealed about him so far paint a picture of a very strange (in the sense of unusual) man.
 
It takes a pretty strange man to ship faux pipe bombs all across America.

And yes, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
