Fair enough.

They have nothing in common other than their names/nick name, which truly is an unfortunate fact. Thus, the cause of our ministry.
Nothing but a spinoff is all I see. FLDS, CoC, Strangite, doesn’t matter. The only difference is where you chose to split.

Not really, they don’t follow The Book of Mormon, and you haven’t answered my question. What in TBOM makes you leery?

Yes, you chose to make the split, what, after Kirtland, before Nauvoo? Maybe before Kirtland even?

TBOM? I don’t know what that is. If you are refering to the book of mormon, which edition? Before the many changes or after?

At any rate, doesn’t matter, the book is bogus. A fabrication. A lie.

Split? The Book of Mormon (TBOM) was in existence BEFORE Joseph started a church. There is no pre, post-Kirtland or anything else. It is TBOM AND NOTHING ELSE!

We use the original printing without the printer’s uninspired punctuation.

It’s wonderful, give it a try.

Ya know, no offense or anything, but your websites creep me the hell out. Reminds me when I was a teen and went to a Freeman Institute meeting at a neighbors house.

I’ve read your book of mormon. I left that “wonderful” pile of bs for atheism. That is how wonderful I found it to be.

God led me to where I should be, not a fabrication of JS & Co.

Just so you know, if you slam The Book of Mormon, you are slamming Jesus.

If you take the definition of the word “priesthood” by itself it is harmless - a collection of priests. Joseph/LDS go beyond that:

The problem is, you are not allowed to “act in Jesus’ name” unless you have their priesthood. That removes the purpose of his coming.

There is no qualifier to use the name of Jesus Christ!!! other than faith. See the offending difference?

This is the faith and authority Alma had when he started his church in the wilderness - no priesthood was necessary!

To “appoint” someone to give communion is fine and proper among a group of believers. But to say that group somehow has the monopoly of the power of Jesus, to perform ordinances, teach the gospel or form a group is preposterous.
This doesn’t fly
You stated that there was no priesthood after the savior, yet the BOM refers both to priesthood and church structure in Moroni. You have not addressed this at all.

Why did he ordain priests if the priesthood was not necessary?

Why did the savior ordain if it wasn’t necessary?

And biblically, what priesthood did Melchizadek in the OT have that Abraham paid him tithes and called him a high priest? Certainly it was not the Levitical priesthood-- so what was Melchizadeks priesthood biblically?

We will be judged by what we say. Use words.
hmmm You seem quite judgemental for not claiming to be the true church. Where does that attitude come from?

RebeccaJ and me on the same side?

No, you won’t find the word priesthood anywhere in TBOM after Jesus.

“Ordain” means to “appoint.” Read it like that, it will make for sense.

We are not in the OT, they have no meaning today.

You remind me of all the reasons I left mormonism. So, good night strange person. Perhaps the lies of JS will somehow lead you to the truth.

dunno bukowski, bomc has got the feeling that the bom is true…i can hear it, can’t you…‘i know the bom is true’.

but no burning for Joe

i suspect joe is a fallen prophet in this particular startup

yet, y’all are mormons…zerinus seems to have it reconciled

i noticed there is no what-we-believe about marriage

That says it all.

Btw, it was prophesied that a Gentile, i.e., unbaptized sinner would bring forth TBOM, and that is what Joseph was. God chose that for a reason, just like Jesus sat with sinners for a reason. Look beyond Joseph’s sins please, and judge The Book for itself, you will see it is your friend, nothing strange, nothing Mormon or cultish, just “repent and come unto Jesus and be baptized for the remission of your sins” - period.

Use it to redeem the lost.

Is that all you can respond to? Misery loves company, you two make good companions - no offense.

it, what it? what prophecy? you seem to twist the bible more than your avg mormon.

fyi…Isaiah prophesied of Jesus Christ, not of the BoM.

Look beyond JS? Funny, that one. Joe was most likely baptized, since he did join the Methodist church. The BoM is not scripture, other than the parts plagiarized from the KJV.

Judge the book for itself? I agree with Mark Twain on that point.
