Agree with those above ^^
I cannot believe Catholics and Christians are actually debating this.
It is so false to use the "let he who is without sin’ line as if Jesus attended the “sick” as a physician who didn’t mind leaving those who were ill, IN THEIR illness.
Until we have a Mass for every single kind of sin we Identify with
so we can feel more "welcome" , no one who claims to follow the Lord can say this is anything but a false charity and a false “compassion”
It is affirming the homosexual afflictions as something to tolerate rather than a cross to bear. In fact, some of the parishes have gone in the opposite direction, the masses are probably even more indifferent and tolerant and inoffensive to ANY IN the congregation. THe Church in America hasnt’ addressed SIN enough throughout many homilies, throughout many watered down stuff, it’s always general and vague. This now in a time when Homosexuals aren’t really even singled out, let alone many. It’s more “positive” and No mention of HELL is brought up in many masses. Yes Gay Marriage is brought up, but only because the Church is on the defensive, they are not proactive in really calling individuals to REPENT. Or even more emphasis on the sanctity of marriage, transcendent from the current attack it is undergoing from gay politics.
If this really was a harmless Mass for all. We should have a prostitute Mass, and a social for them too. This isn’t some community outreach, Mass is intended for a communion between individual and God, where two or more gathers, there shall he be. This isn’t some sort of “feel good nonsense” ALL are welcome. It’s about the Vertical. NOT the horizontal.
Regardless of the holiness of the priest, it’s the actions of this week that are questionable – The fact that there WAS an INTENDED Gay Pride that had to be stopped and now they had to cover “a mass for all” which negates or subtly saying, that the other masses prior to this was not welcoming or FOR ALL because what? The possibility that Scripture and Truth on Faith & Morals might not feel welcoming? is an insult to every other diocese that does not set up some sort of MASS specific to make intention of the for All, and have socials afterwards possibly allowing homosexuals.
Unless the mass asked ACTIVE homosexuals to go to confession prior to the mass, then it is still scandalous regardless if they tried to put a Bow on it, and hide words.
It’s a false premise that negates the other masses as unwelcoming!
So we as fornicators and divorcees, and murderers through our word and actions, Should WE ALSO have specific masses offered because we don’t feel so welcome??
This is a sign of the times.
It’s opposite of what scripture says, this applies to the Boston’s Gay mass Erroneneous message by affirming the SIN as IF the Church has been wrong to stand up for truth, and the very contentions going on in this thread.
Acts 2
Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” 38Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39“For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Code:
43Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44**And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common**; 45and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 46Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
