It does seem that stuff like this does die a much quicker death if you ignore it, then if you make noise.That reminds me of when people in the (non-US) Bible Belt area I grew up in said “It’s not the dance, it’s what comes with the dance!”
Seriously, Americans should stop fretting over cakes and burgers. These things are blown out of proportions.
In my town, city trams had rainbow flags mounted on them during Pride week last month. Did I care? No. It’s a festival. Some of the events I could agree to, some not. I went to neither.
There’s something about priorities that I just don’t get when it comes to the political-religious climate in the States. It’s like picking one’s battles is seen as an abomination.
