Dude, quit it. It’s one thing to ad hom a fellow person it’s another to downright call the faith an ironic joke. I have a handful of things I don’t like about this forum, but the attitude that you have is high on that list.
Right and calling my profession an anti-moralistic excuse is something that’s completely acceptable. Who’s the relativist now? Frankly, you’re just adding to the comedy. The only reason why I even bothered to post on this thread because I’m so sick of people being ignorant about basic marketing.

(1) Never said your profession was anti-moralistic; I don’t even know what your profession is.
(2) I don’t subscribe to relativism, nor have I said anything that would lead you to think I am such or back up such a concept.
(3) If you think I’m adding to the comedy then I bet there are many things in my post that are false and ignorant. Go ahead, nitpick my post and point out where Burger King is the misunderstood victim while I’m in the black of ignorance. Go. Ahead.

I’m a marketer. So obviously, I can see why BK (or any sane company) pulls stunts like this all the time. And frankly, I don’t care what you didn’t say. You’re defending someone who did. Calling me out for describing the faith as a joke and yet you don’t call out somebody who equates my profession to nothing more than making anti-moralistic excuses.

Double standards seem pretty darn relativistic to me! 👍

Let’s start with this: Do you manage your own fast food chain?

A moral trap does not work with one whose morals are dictated by God and his church.
Ah yes, the whole I’m spiritually-higher-than-you card that religious people play so that business matters seem beneath them.

People like you are the reason why I sucked at my first job.

Yeah. Along with 70% of the flock. Are we done with ad homs now because your concession is really overdue.
‘ad homs’? How about you be specific.

As to concession, it has taken you days to respond, and you did not bother responding to the issue discussed.

As I recall, you could not answer if morality changed based upon employment.

Instead, you started calling me an ‘absolutist’ and started claiming the church to be an ironic joke.

I figured once you dropped the question in favor of insult and ad-hominum that the concession was apparent.

I didn’t know your profession either.

This makes no sense. When was this done?
Please reference the specific post.
Let’s start with this: Do you manage your own fast food chain?
Kind of references my first question.
Why should it matter? The morality does not change.

(1) So you don’t care what I did not say yet you accuse me of being whatever you said I was in your first post.

Let’s break this down:

Person A: I accuse B of saying my profession is anti-moralistic.
Person B: I said no such thing.
Person A: I don’t care what you didn’t say, I’ll just accuse you of such things.

Yea. Okay. Sure.

(2) I’ll also reiterate: Ad homs to a fellow person is one thing while ad homs towards the faith is another. Please tell me how I’m strongly condoning what the other poster said to you since I never said or implied that he was in a rightful place.

It’s one thing to be upset with one person, but to say the faith is an “ironic joke” due a person’s poor choice of words & misguided feelings of a profession is throwing the faith - which I assume you are practitioner of - under the bus as well as insulting the being that started the faith.
Let’s start with this: Do you manage your own fast food chain?
Why don’t you fulfill what I asked, first, because is my mind I think calling the faith an “ironic joke” is a far more serious matter than a person spilling paint on ones profession.

Because I have a job. Don’t you?
As I recall, you could not answer if morality changed based upon employment.
Because yours is a trap/trick question. It’s not that I can’t. I just refuse to play a silly game that is out of touch with my own work experience.
Instead, you started calling me an ‘absolutist’ and started claiming the church to be an ironic joke.
Oh no, that’s all on you. You never seemed to address the fact that people who sacrifice business for the sake of morality defeat the very notion when they’re just shooting themselves in the foot. There’s no morality to speak of and yet you pretend there is.
I figured once you dropped the question in favor of insult and ad-hominum that the concession was apparent.
I’m sorry, did I call marketing an excuse to defy morals?

Because I have a job. Don’t you?
🤷

It is not a trap.
It is a legitimate question.
And it has a real answer.

I am not the one that wrote your post.
I’m sorry, did I call marketing an excuse to defy morals?
I don’t know that anyone did.
Please quote it for me.

buzzer sound Wrong! It’s more like this:

Person A: Accuses Person B of saying profession is anti-moralistic.
Person B: Finds Person A’s accusation proof of faith being a joke.
Person C: Butts in defense of Person A and calls out while ignoring jabs at Person B’s work ethic.
Please tell me how I’m strongly condoning what the other poster said to you since I never said or implied that he was in a rightful place.
Like the sex abuse scandal, silence is pretty much synonymous with indirect permission.

I throw anything under a bus when it’s starting to harm my well-being. You think religion is some special exception? See, it’s the kind of thinking that’s led to some really painful lessons in my life.
Why don’t you fulfill what I asked, first, because is my mind I think calling the faith an “ironic joke” is a far more serious matter than a person spilling paint on ones profession.
You’re spilling paint on what pays my bills, my lifestyle, and my family. The key to succeeding in any profession is to have a passion for it.

I really wish people would stop using their faith/ideology as an excuse to speak on subjects they don’t have the slightest clue about.

You don’t? You think that’s going to help your case?
It is not a trap.
It is a legitimate question.
And it has a real answer.
If your answer is anything along the lines of curse your job and do the right thing, it’s a trap. One set by people who don’t want to admit that this isn’t any more righteous.

Really. It’s a joke.
I don’t know that anyone did.
Please quote it for me.
The question does not beg for any conditions other then those proposed in the question itself.
It is your own untenable position that begs for excuses.

Right up there. Sounds like someone is in a rush.
Really?

I am not even talking about a job position in the quote you pulled.

I should know, I wrote it. And I had no idea what your profession was at the time.

I was referring to the untenable position of being on the wrong side of a logical argument.

And the context pans this out.

Don’t play dumb. From the very start, my position is tied to my profession. I said so in my very first post. Questions like yours are the reason why I compromised my first job. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of the moral traps that are just plain ignorant of real-life experience. I fail to see the point in a morality that lets you sacrifice work ethics just so you could feel more ‘righteous.’

From my experience, that moral absolutism didn’t pay my bills as much as shut down my parents’ business.

So please, don’t waste my time trying to get answers to your trap question.

I, as the author of said words, know better then you the meaning of my words.

The context also bears out that no one was referring to a job.

Most reasonable people reading through this thread will agree.

And as a person with actual work experience with the topic at hand, I would say I have a stronger position than any moralist here who thinks they can just make judgment calls on marketing stunts.

Like I said, go run your own brand of fast food chains. Then you can ask me if one’s job position shouldn’t call for compromise. If I’m going to get lectured about that, I’d at least rather hear it from someone like the Catholic CEO of Eden Foods over a some internet stranger who may or may not even have a job.
