No one said they do.
I just was curious to see if the fruits of their sin are apparent yet.
A) They didn’t sin. Saying that gays and lesbians have equal human dignity to straights and raising money for kids to go to college are not sinful acts.

B) Considering the profits were used to help kids go to college, it is doubtful this was performed as a marketing stunt.

C) It is grave matter to commit detraction against an individual. You cannot know this owner’s motives and yet you gossip about him as being nefarious and evil in his motives. Perhaps you should be considering the plank in your own eye before trying to find a non-existent sin in this wonderful action by the franchise owner.

I often find that the people who think their spirituality puts them higher than big brands barely have enough work experience outside cubicle coding or something (let alone sales and marketing).

Don’t look at me. That’s the religion you’re describing. If that doesn’t make sense to you, it makes me wonder why you even defend it.
No, it is not.
It is a horrid distortion you have made of it.
Perhaps you should spend some time learning about the religion you critique so much.
Otherwise, as is the case here, you waste time criticizing something that is not.
Oh I see, so either you’re automatically guilty or your innocent. No investigation necessary. Yeah that’s Christian justice for ya. 👍
God does know all and see all.
I fail to see why God would need to investigate anything at all.
God simply knows.
You don’t even work at BK. What makes you think you’ll be privy to all the details?
Just curious here.
How exactly would you know this?
I have provided few details of my life in this forum.
Yet you claim to know so much about me.
Someone that complains so much that people have made a judgement call without the benefit of ‘further investigation’ seems to run so far on baseless assumptions.
I’ll take my ‘worldly’ real life experience over a mind that lives in the bubble of ideals. 👍
God answers that…
1 John 2:15-17Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
Love not the world, nor the things which are in the world. If any man love the world, the charity of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the concupiscence thereof: but he that doth the will of God, abideth for ever.

You do not believe open support for sinful behavior is not itself a sin?
What part of “we are all the same inside” is supporting sinful behavior?.

Being gay or lesbian is not a sin. Only having gay/lesbian sex is sinful. And I didn’t see the wrapper say “gay and lesbian sex is wonderful.”

Perhaps you should spend some time learning about the religion you critique so much.
Otherwise, as is the case here, you waste time criticizing something that is not.
Yet you plant moralist trap questions and allude to martyring one’s own livelihood for the sake of faith. If I’m criticizing a straw man then you’re the one who built it, not me.
God does know all and see all.
I fail to see why God would need to investigate anything at all.
God simply knows.
Oh so God knows. Thanks for clarifying. Seeing as you’re not God, let alone a marketing expert, we can finally establish that you really have no place passing judgment. 👍
Just curious here.

Yet you claim to know so much about me.
Maybe you should provide more. Again, do you work in BK? What is your marketing experience? My assumptions are only based on your ignorant commentary on that company’s marketing stunts. If you call them baseless maybe it’s because your commentary is essentially hollow.

Yet He created it. Whoopee. More sweet irony.

This same message could have been printed on their usual wrapper without the fanfare and videos.
However, the fanfare and videos provide the context.

This is support for a lifestyle that runs contrary to God’s laws.

No, the rainbow wrapper specifically meant that he was talking about sexual orientation. As in “everyone is the same inside, regardless of sexual orientation.” Which is Catholic teaching. You continue to impugn motives on a man you do not know for actions in line with Catholic teaching and that achieve a moral good 🤷.

Yet you plant moralist trap questions and allude to martyring one’s own livelihood for the sake of faith. If I’m criticizing a straw man then you’re the one who built it, not me.
There was no trap other then the one of your own imagination.
I simply asked if morality changed based on position.
It does not. But it would seem that this could not be answered without attempting to place some qualifier in there.
The need for exceptions is telling.
Perhaps that is where the anger lies. There was no trap, but you claimed it and then jumped into it.
Oh so God knows. Thanks for clarifying. Seeing as you’re not God, let alone a marketing expert, we can finally establish that you really have no place passing judgment. 👍
Another assumption.
No, I am not God. But I have not provided enough information to know of my experience.
Your arguments depend too much on assumption and not enough upon fact.
Maybe you should provide more. Again, do you work in BK? What is your marketing experience? My assumptions are only based on your ignorant commentary on that company’s marketing stunts. If you call them baseless maybe it’s because your commentary is essentially hollow.
I do not need to provide any information here.
My background and experience do not enter into deciding if BK is wrong here.
Yet He created it. Whoopee. More irony.
So now your mockery extends not just to the church, and people that defend it, but also to God’s word.
Just clarifying here.

So you do not believe this particular ploy is providing support for the homosexual lifestyle?

Oh it’s ‘exceptions’ now and not excuses? Sorry pal but changing the word doesn’t pull the wool over my eyes either. You’re trying to make the case of martyring one’s own income and you do it proudly.
Another assumption.

Facts you don’t provide. Again, what right do you have? What is your experience? You want your questions answered yet you exhibit the same avoidance you accuse me of.
I do not need to provide any information here.

That’s rich. Call my assumptions baseless yet when given the chance to prove just how, you refuse to provide your own substance. Is this what has become of Christian intellectual honesty?

Demonizing only gets you so far before people realize you don’t even address the irony. Oh but feel free to take offense, it’s what you’re on this thread on for anyways.

So you do not believe this particular ploy is providing support for the homosexual lifestyle?
No. I think it is paranoia to assume so. No one is going to go out and have sex with a member of their own sex just because this guy makes a rainbow wrapper and affirms their human dignity. No gay marriage law is going to be passed because this guy pays for gay kids to go to college. That is insane to think.

No one has attempted to claim any such martyring.
That is your straw man, not an argument by anyone on this thread.
You want your questions answered yet you exhibit the same avoidance you accuse me of.
I have asked nothing of your personal life.
That’s rich. Call my assumptions baseless yet when given the chance to prove just how, you refuse to provide your own substance. Is this what has become of Christian intellectual honesty?

Nor does it matter.
As has been my argument all along, morality does not depend upon the position.
Demonizing only gets you so far before people realize you don’t even address the irony. Oh but feel free to take offense, it’s what you’re on this thread on for anyways.
There is no irony there.
Unless you wish me to address the irony you perceive (but is not there).
This would again fall into the realm of knowing the church you wish to critique.

Like the question asked so many posts ago that could not be answered without imaginary conditions…the irony you claim in that bible quote only exists if one puts in false conditions.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
But for some it seems, no cigar will ever be just a cigar.

Not that you have sufficient information for this conclusion…
One does not have to know all of the details behind a sin to know it is a sin.

No one said they do.
I just was curious to see if the fruits of their sin are apparent yet.

If the choice is to sin or not to sin, there is only one law to consider. God’s law.
That’s right. I am baffled at how so many Catholics can defend sin. God Bless, Memaw

Because it’s not sinful to affirm someone’s dignity as a human being, but it is sinful to accuse someone who does so of nefarious intentions.

No, it is not a sin to affirm someone’s dignity.

But that is not what is being done here.

The newspaper there reported it as a pro-gay initiative.

And as reported in USA Today,
Jordan Bach, a gay rights corporate consultant, told USA Today, “Whenever a company comes out in support of gay people, it makes a difference.”
So, this dignity that is being affirmed…
Would that be dignity as a homosexual, or dignity as a human being?
And why one over the other?
And why should we celebrate this dignity over the other?

It seems to me we have to turn a blind eye to too much to think that this is perfectly acceptable.

“In support of gay people.” Being a gay person isn’t a sin 🤷. “Being gay” means “being attracted to members of the same sex.”

As for why we should celebrate the dignity? Because the individual dignities of homosexuals are denied over and over again in our country by hateful acts. Hate crimes are rampant, people fight for the right to deny serving gay people at restaurants in the South, anti-LGBT bullying is one of the highest rates of bullying in the country, parents throw LGBT kids out of the house, etc. etc. While I may be glad that we don’t live in Iran, the United States is one of the most intolerant countries in the Western world towards the human dignity of gays and lesbians. I welcome any attempt to fight that.
