My gram-gram grew up poor. There are people who support abortion because they do not want the child to suffer in this world and to be poor.
I’m glad nobody took it into their head to KILL her

I understand what you are saying, but really you have to look at it this way, if we see someone suffering and are poor, are we helping them somehow by killing them? There are people who support abortion because they do not want the child to suffer in this world and to be poor.
I am sure family “honor” killers think the same thing. Hitler killed many people in mental institutions, along with special needs people. I am sure those killings were billed as mercy killings at some point.but if the person genuinely thinks they’re doing good then they’re not really culpable.
Nobody is jailing women who look for abortions. I doubt anyone ever will. Nice straw man thoughHSTV:![]()
The question is will anti-choice people who harass pregnant women seeking abortions, make life even more miserable for them and even try to jail them, can such people ever go to heaven? If someone has good intentions when being pro-choice, can this person go to heaven?
There are people who support abortion because they do not want the child to suffer in this world and to be poor.
So in this case, is it still a sin to be pro-choice, when you care about the well being of that child that will suffer in this world?
ps. I am pro-life, I am just curious/concerned to know where my pro-choice friends are standing
Actually, I believe most people eventually go to heaven anyway. But I also believe in reincarnation.
So I am quite sure, all active anti-choice men who make life difficult for such women, will be born as women themselves in their next life.
Also politicians who claim to be personally pro life but claims they can’t force their views on others and thus always supports the pro abortion rights position. It is important to clarify what is meant by “supports abortion.” It is not an either-or situation. For example:
I have tried to arrange these in order of most-supportive of abortion to least-supportive of abortion. There is certainly a big difference between saying that someone from #1 is going to heaven vs. someone from #7 is going to heaven. So I’m not sure we can give the same answer to all 7 categories here.
- Someone who performs an abortion, or encourages others to do so.
- Someone who has never been directly involved with abortion, but still believes the fetus is not human and not worthy of protection and that a woman has every right to terminate any pregnancy she wishes.
- Someone who believes a fetus is a human being, but that the needs of the mother outweigh the needs of that fetus.
- Someone who believes all lives are precious, but that it is not the role of government to protect the pre-born.
- Someone who believes it is the role of government to protect the pre-born, but that other issues are equally important when voting for people to run for office.
- Someone who believes all lives are precious and that it is the role of government to protect the pre-born, but who keeps this view private and does not act on it.
- Someone who believes that abortion is the most important issue, but does not believe a candidate can accomplish anything toward it, and so votes for someone else.
I believe the Georgia law says that if a women goes to another state to get an abortion she could be jailed for 10 years. Also if a woman takes a pill that induces a miscarriage she may get an even longer sentence.Nobody is jailing women who look for abortions. I doubt anyone ever will. Nice straw man though![]()
Slate is wrong. The law does not say women would be jailed for seeking an abortion.Sbee0:![]()

HB 481: Georgia law criminalizes abortion, subjects women to life in prison.
Help me out here, I catch on slowly. The question is will anti-choice people
These beliefs are so wholly and completely antithetical to Catholic belief that I cannot fathom how you can hold them while still calling yourself Catholic. The question is will anti-choice people who harass pregnant women seeking abortions, make life even more miserable for them and even try to jail them, can such people ever go to heaven?

Yes to good friends, and good relationship with God is what heaven is.People always focus on the wrong question. It isn’t about going to hell, its if it is a good and holy thing that will help you achieve heaven. The answer is no. Not many people here would put up with friends who thought blacks weren’t human and could be killed because their lives wont be as good as whites. Yet that is precisely the ignorance and evil that abortion is. Its sick. Blatantly evil and sick. And if people wish to buy the serpents lie that evil is good, they probably won’t make good friends.
Sorry about your slowness. Anti-choice people are those who don’t think people should be able to choose what they wish to do with their own bodies and its contents.openmind77:![]()

What/who are anti-choice people?
Those contents, as you call them, are another human being. A distinct instance of the human species. That child has all the same rights as its mother, father, and every other person on this planet.Anti-choice people are those who don’t think people should be able to choose what they wish to do with their own bodies and its contents.
Slate is not the only source. This one is hardly left wing: Women Could Get 30 Years in Prison for Having a Miscarriage in Georgiaopenmind77:![]()

Keep in mind Slate is and always has been a solidly left wing news source and therefore is prone to sensationalizing this topic.
Which is exactly what they are doing.
I stopped reading the article when I saw they are using the Slate story. This is false, hysteria from a left wing news magazine, there is no such threat to women seeking abortions with this law.Sbee0:![]()

What/who are anti-choice people?
I’d say the anti-choicers are actually the ones who verbally threaten and harass teenagers and older women on social media for protesting quietly at abortion clinics or roundhouse kick pro life women for being pro life. Some people don’t like the choice to be pro life it seems.goout:![]()
