…Whether the 4th century, 11th century, 16th century, 21st century, all united with the 1st century Christ, the Word existing before Creation.
Now you know you guys aren’t going to convince me we are not united in Christ with our fellow Christians as hard you may try.
So indeed may His blessings and peace and His light shine upon us. And united in Him, may His greatest commandment of love shine forth from us all.

we are not. sorry, you are not a Catholic. in fact we believe just the opposite. we are not of one Faith, one mind, and so forth. one cannot in anyway undermine the Teachings of the CC, discarded is unimportant. it is very important.
this tactic does not work with me. anyone who does not believe what the Church teaches is in disobedience to Christ. Jesus said:" whoever hears you, hears me and the One Who sent Me." you are not outside of this commandment. i dont care if you believe or not. you have been told over and over again the Truth, yet you continue to reject the Church.

i repeat they are in disobedience to Christ and His Church. you can disagree all you want. it does not change the facts.
the Teachings of the Church are Truths given by Christ, if you dont believe it, what does it make you?

I am a Catholic, and have been a Street Pastor for a couple of years, this involves going out late on a Friday night, and coming into contact with drugs, aggression, drink, gangs and rowdy behaviour. I feel so blessed that I am able to do this with Christians from 8 different churches, we pray for each other, we pray for the people on the streets, we are one in Christ.
I feel so blessed when I witness other denominations bringing people to Christ, we need each other, Catholics cannot do it on their own. I feel so blessed when I witness the One Body with many parts, working together as one, we hope to share the love of Christ out on the streets.
Here are a couple of short videos, to give you a flavour of what can happen, the faith and trust in God that the Longsight Pastors show is awe inspiring.

It is wonderful to know that all can serve God’s love so well together, Jews, Muslims,the various Protestant denominations,and. Catholics helping side by side those who need the love of God shared so desperately.
In the end, somehow , it will be fulfilled ,that is, Christ’s desire for full unity. God’s will be done! Carlan

Matt, many Catholic here see you as a Catholic dissenter, while that is not going to make you not a Catholic so to speak, it is not a good thing, and in my humble opinion it shows you as one not willing to defend the truth of the faith. This is Catholic Answers after all and a public forum where you are witnessing , possibly,to thousand of readers. Carlan, yes I know some apparently do but some just see me as Catholic. I am trying to defend my faith in Christ. You must have missed my post though explaining where the Church believes it gets its authority. But every Catholic does not see everything the same or may even wonder at times what Christ would think. So that’s why I simply try to take the bigger picture. I’m not sure Christ made it all that complicated. Believe in Him. Love. That’s why I just say Catholic Christians and all Christians are united in Him. Peace and do have a good night my friend.

Street Pastors started in Jamaica, where poor and hungry kids as young as ten, owned guns, I am not sure how you can reason with a hungry kid with a gun. So many people were getting shot and killed, many just young kids, communities seemed so powerless.
If you watched the videos about Street Pastors, you will understand that it was a church response to people being shot and killed on the Streets. Street Pastors can only work as an inter-denominational initiative, which means in the early days, Christians were taking great risks going into the unknown together.
Christians can work together and pray together in these daunting circumstances, but being Catholic puts restrictions on me sharing communion with them.
Now my question is why should we be as One Body in this ministry, but not be one in communion with each other?

good works should not be contrary to Church’s teachings.
it is not about you are ok and i am ok for the sake of goodness.
we must not undermine the Teachings of the Church. it is good to get along but we must not forget what the Church teaches.

Watch the Torbay Street Pastors clip, and listen to the two senior police officers talk about, crime reduction since Street Pastors started. The figures seem amazing, especially as they come from senior police officers.
I really don’t think that it is the Street Pastors, who are responsible for all the good things happening. I believe it is the power of prayer, and of God answering the joint prayers from all of us.
I am going out tonight, and our team will consist of a Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Community Church, and a Catholic. We have teams of other denominations praying for us too.
We thank God for all that he does for us, but why should God answer all our prayers, from a seemingly divided ministry of many denominations?
