After the horse as bolted action shot gunned.:coffeeread:
That makes no grammatical sense whatsoever.

Are you implying that “lock down” is less than perfect?

If so then tell me, what legislation are you advocating that would prevent any and all violent attacks in schools?

Northumbrian;10445000:
Bullet proof glass that you can’t open? Care to expand? /QUOTE]

Bullet proof windows with wire mesh implanted and/or bullet proof wire screens. They do exist you know.

Apparently you don’t know.
And recess?

And sports?

And the end of school time?

And the beggining?

And Assembley?

I may not know about “safety” doors and bullet proof glass and wire and mesh

But I do know about schools. :tiphat:

Armed guards.

Now a question for you:

How would you prevent anyone with any weapon of any sort from attacking in those situations?

Do tell.

Armed guards.
Along with “lock downs” “safety” doors and “Bullet proof windows with wire mesh implanted and/or bullet proof wire screens”.

This is still school we are talking about and not a prison, right?

And all of this, along with the armed guards salary, the guns for the teachers and their training courses and totally outfitting the schools.

Instead of education.

Instead of education?

Why the either/or?

The Democrats tell us there is plenty of money to spend?

But uhm … you never did say how you would prevent any violence.

So how would you?

🤓
I speak English as well, and that still makes no grammatical sense whatsoever.

And you say you’re a “teacher”?
18 years of teaching

“lock the door after the horse has bolted” is an idiom that describes action that comes too late and is therefore useless

“Bolt action shot gun” is…well I am sure you are aware of what that is

And “English humour” does not mean “humour *in *English” but rather “humour typical of *the *English (people)”.

Anyway back on topic…😊

I got the implication of your “expression”.

I was referring to your grammar.

Your original post said

“After the horse as bolted action shot gunned.”

Now that is a far cry from your revision of:

“lock the door after the horse has bolted”

Nice try.

Why the either/or?

The Democrats tell us there is plenty of money to spend?
The who? Oh yes, that group I neither support nor am I involved with whatsoever.
Why the either/or?
No matter how much money you put into the education budget, every armed guard and bullet proof window is taking money out of educating the kids.

As for my beliefs concerning how these atrocities will cease; I gave my answer.

Nice try.
It was indeed an attempt to put the two phrases together but really it is very bad form to make a chap explain a joke once never mind twice.:blushing:

Just say " I don’t get it" and leave it at that. :pshaw:

T No matter how much money you put into the education budget, every armed guard and bullet proof window is taking money out of educating the kids.
What?

Well by that logic why have ANY safety precautions whatsoever?

After all, that would be stealing from the kids!

Really?

Oh and, I never did catch your specific solutions that would prevent anyone from assaulting schools. Say … with a knife?

Oh please.

If you go back to my original response you’ll see that I got the “jist” of your “joke”.

It was still grammatically incorrect to the point it made no sense whatsoever. Which is exactly why you revised it.

You need to rewind a little further:

" Because, Dolan says, he and his fellow bishops had been assured by “political allies” that the bill didn’t have any legs, and that there was no need to expend resources fighting it."

lifesitenews.com/news/we-were-deceived-on-new-york-gay-marriage-vote-archbishop-dolan/

Looks like Bishops get rolled all the time. With this and the HHS mandate
Have you changed your opinion of the Cardinal since your last post?

I must say it seems very uncharitable now to post this:
Maybe if he put in any semblance of effort during the “gay marriage” fight in NY we wouldn’t have gay “marriage” in NY.
Knowing that Cardinal Dolan had made great efforts but was unfortunately lied to.

It is quite clear from the video interview in your link just how strongly he felt about the issue.

Yes, very very uncharitable indeed.

Which is exactly why you revised it.
I did not edit that post and that much is clear. TBH I am not quite sure how you hope to further the debate by dwelling on a silly play on words. I can only assume that you have ran out of steam somewhat.

You clearly restated a revised version of your original “joke”.

One only has to go back over this thread.

But oh well.

As far as running out of steam - I thought you were retiring for the night:
I think I will join you.

Good night and God bless

And thanks for your great posts:thumbsup:

That is not logic but rather a fallacy that is sometimes referred to as Reductio ad absurdum
Oh and, I never did catch your specific solutions that would prevent anyone from assaulting schools. Say … with a knife?
I was quite clear as to how these atrocities will one day cease.

As for a knife… while I am aware your tale of the amazing stabbing Chinese man is just waiting to re-enter the debate, I am fairly certain that you do not consider it as dangerous as an assault rifle otherwise wars would have ended differently and the sales of expensive assault rifles would not be sufficient to support their production.
