I trust the system of government we have. For years doomsayers have preached the end because of elections. We the people are the government, and the majority rules.
They use your tax money to pay for abortions. Now do you trust them?

Israel doesn’t have a problem arming teachers with assault weapons.
The military service in Israel is mandatory. That is not the case in the US or the UK (thank God).

And having spoken to a number of Israelis, it seems the people of israel look forward to when they can live more peaceful lives.

If the assailant is aware that the teachers are armed then yes, the teacher would be stargeted first.

And then the class are targets

Considering the other teachers would either have to pursue the the assailant and leave 24 or more kids behind or they would have to stay put.

Meanwhile Mr Psycho-Suicide is free to massacre.

Oh and my reasoning comes from a Captain and several NCOs in the 7th regiment of the Italian Alpini

They are students of mine and that was their analysis of the ridiculous concept of arming teachers in elementary schools.

And they served both in Afghanistan and Kosovo

Back in Afghanistan now as it happens.

Prayin f for their safe return.
That is pathetic reasoning on numerous levels.

Simply targeting a single teacher would alert the entire school.

Each teacher would be trained to stay in their respective classrooms after the rooms had been locked down.

Your “experts” should know that violently entering into a sealed room with any armed personnel inside is … perilous at best.

This Marine questions the merits of your cited “experts”

Oh BTW,

I’ll see your “experts” and raise you this:

You guy’s can argue gun control along with Cardinal Dolan all you want but until you start controlling criminals and the deranged your whistling in the wind. Gun control controls honest citizens, not criminals or whacko’s.

If the line of argument continues to follow that

one needs more, not less guns
because we cam’t trust this government
because they paid for abortions:
ergo opposing guns is pro abortion or some such ABSURD notion
may I remind us all that Cardinal Dolan has done more than any poster here to oppose abortion in the US and he is also seems to favour less guns.

They use your tax money to pay for abortions. Now do you trust them?
I trust the system, and agree with them when they are right and disagree when they’re not, as Cardinal Dolan is doing. They also use our tax money to build weapons of mass destruction. Is that acceptable?

The majority doesn’t rule. Ask the blacks and native indians about “majority rules” and see what they have to say.

Road Rage?

It could easily be tempered when everyone is carrying.

Now you’re getting “hypothetical” again.
Isn’t a society of ‘I’m armed you better watch yourself,’ a cheapening of life, as Cardinal Dolan referred to it?

I’m hypothetical, but your ‘scenarios’ are real?

I have a 24 hour shift tomorrow and I’m turning in. Have a good night everyone.

Yes. Nuclear weapons have kept the peace during the cold war if you can remember those years.

By the way, abortion murders 4,650 people every hour, worldwide.

Self defense is not cheapening life.

Self defense is not cheapening life.
It is when you’re threatening to kill someone who trespasses against you. I can’t reconcile that train of thought with the Gospel message. 🤷

I trust the system of government we have. For years doomsayers have preached the end because of elections. We the people are the government, and the majority rules.
So you trust the Obama Administration even after they betrayed the good faith of the USCCB with the HHS Mandate?

Why?

Blessed be the nuclear weapons, and guns, for they are the peacemakers? It doesn’t work for me.

And this teacher is wryly smiling at the notion of a kids classroom being “sealed.”

Some school you have in mind.:coffeeread:

I am increasingly convinced that Cardinal Dolan really hit the nail on the head when he talked of two pasths of Culture.:amen:

From his blog clearly Cardinal Dolan has major differences of opinions with it that one could describe as “mistrust” and he is the topic of this debate, so what is your point?

It seems that question has been answered on multiple occasions.

🤷
My point is that Dolan is uninformed at the least, and misguided at the worst. And that he is trusting the same Administration that deceived him with the HHS mandate just one short year ago.

That’s why he doesn’t make any sense. Maybe if he put in any semblance of effort during the “gay marriage” fight in NY we wouldn’t have gay “marriage” in NY. He really fell out with me on that.

He has selective rage.
