Guess im going to have to go tell my mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, brothers and sisters that they are all going to hell…Maybe ill add that since they are with people they love and are not going to leave them due to childeren etc. etc. that they can just give up now and since they are going to hell anyways they can just do what ever it is that they want now and forget all the morals they inheareted. and Satan wins!

Basically for someone there is no recourse if you were to have divorced and remarried no matter the reason…
That is not true. You can be forgiven. There is no sin too great for God.
if it wasnt anuled then you are in facto living in sin period!
If the annulment was not granted, I would prefer to say.
There is zero outlet to be forgiven here on this earth
There is. Repent, Confess, be absolved, do penance (which involves halting the state that caused the sin). As with any sin. There is just no room for both mortal sin and the reception of the Sacraments without repentance and Confession to co-exist. One cannot obstinately remain in sin and yet receive the Sacraments.
and the only outlet is if god forgives you but only if you ask right before you die in a emergency situation!
If you truly repent.
In effect if you forget to ask forgiveness upon death no matter how good of a person you were or good deeds that you have done on this earth you are going to burn in hell…
That is the concept of mortal sin, but there are also Last Rites.

Do you understand why, in the situation of a divorce and remarriage without an annulment, there is is zero outlet to be forgiven on this earth short of God’s grace just before you die? Do you believe that it is just the obstinate position of the Church?

I adhear to the churches teaching in my own life. I do however think that there should be some leeway as far as the Church is concerned on the matter. on a case by case basis of course. There should be a path forward and if a priest can absolve sin why is this one the only one he cant…I could murder someone and get off easier.

He CAN absolve the sin!

Also if the church teaches us that we will be sinners till the day we die but still allows us to partake in the sacraments why not this one?

We will all be sinners in fact till our demise why is this sin so much more important than the other given the many legitimate (society) reasons for divorce?

SO if he can absolve the sin whats to stop someone from going to confession taking communion directly after then going back to the relationship and repeating this over and over?

A valid confession entails “Go and sin no more”, sincere repentance and the will to amend one’s life. Only then can Absolution be given.

Thus, either the person remains in mortal sin, or they amend their life. God is not tricked by us. He won’t be fooled.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to bed.

Other than baptism, reconciliation or anointing of the sick, what sacraments does the Church allow us to participate in while in the state of mortal sin?

It isn’t more important than the other sins. Does the Church say it is ok to murder someone and then receive the Eucharist prior to confession? Does the Church say it is ok to embezzle money from your employer and then receive the Eucharist prior to confession?

My wife and I had to go to confession prior to our wedding. I had to go to confession prior to confirmation and first communion.

Any instance of the sin can be absolved. Now, if you’re talking about a family with children where the mother and father remain in the same house for the children’s sake, but are trying to live as brother and sister and occasionally don’t manage it, then there is nothing to stop them simply confessing after they sin, then going back to trying not to, then confessing again should they fail again. Nor should there be.

If, however, you are talking about a couple which knows they are not married, but persists in acting as though they are and has no plans to even try to stop sinning, then the problem is not that a priest can’t absolve any instance of thier sin, but that the state of planning on continuing to sin shows a lack of contrition (which includes the resolve to sin no more, CCC 1450 ish), and would make the confession invalid.

So yeah. Repeated confession of the same sins is perfectly possible. The problem comes when people either refuse to admit that what they are doing is sin, or, knowing this, plan to continue committing them regardless.

So do you think this practice brings people to christ or drives them away?
I wanted to comment on this statement because it gets to a sore point for me.

The Church has never driven away anyone by teaching the truth. Never. Many, many people have walked away because they rejected the truth.

Lets say you all had a daughter and she was married in the church. lets say she was married for some time and had childeren. One day her husband starts beating her and almost kills her…this goes on for some time with no outlook of him stopping…lets say your daughter was still young (20s) and seperated from this man…would you then instruct her to never have relations with anyone else and to live in chastity untill he died which could be 60 years? Those youngchilderent would grow up with out a father or father figure which we know is a bad thing…in most cases. How would you have that talk with your daugher? Honey I know you married with good intentions but if you ever i mean ever fall in love with another man you CAN NOT do anything about it because if you do its hell for you!!!

For instance, what happened after the eat my flesh remark in the gospels. Drawing people to Christ is the most important mission of the Church, of course, but Christ is Truth, and if we deny truth then we aren’t drawing people to Christ, but rather to someone else entirely.

I agree to a point but we are called to evangelize and to convert the masses. You cant deny that the churches stance on things hasnt caused people to turn away? Martin Luthor remember that guy and the millions that left? I cant say that they rejected the truth…what they rejected was some guy(s) interpretation of the truth that the church laid down in stone and considered unquestionable to refute. It was someone interpretation of what jesus said many years after he died. We hope and have faith that these things are correct ill give you that but we are human and falable and what was a oral tradition generally up to the 300s? seems a bit touch to me…lets not forget the few years of the “questionable” popes…

Heres a question do you think only catholics are going to heaven?

I know what happened he said a radical statement that turned the pheracies away. We know the isntitution that the jewish faith created to that point the question is has the catholic faith fallen into the same trap as the pheracies and the sagucies?

The probelm with the Jews is their hearts had hardened and they had erected the establishment that continued the herdening of the hearts of the people by persecuting them, killing them, casting them out, etc…etc…thats why Jesus showed up right?.If you look at the history of the church how is that any different than what happened to the jews?

and before I get kicked out of here again for saying that…its just a hypothesis im just sparking conversation…

If an annulment wasn’t possible, yes of course that is what I would instruct her.
Those youngchilderent would grow up with out a father or father figure which we know is a bad thing…in most cases.
Why couldn’t YOU be the father figure?
How would you have that talk with your daugher?
Honestly and directly and with great faith that she would listen.
Honey I know you married with good intentions but if you ever i mean ever fall in love with another man you CAN NOT do anything about it because if you do its hell for you!!!
You and I have very different ways of talking to people if that is your approach.

How about this. “Look honey, that man was no good for you. Even though you entered into marriage, a covenant that includes Christ Himself, you have been treated poorly by that no good snake in the grass. I know that you need love (specifically sex, but I don’t want to talk to you about that!!!) to be happy, so go ahead and find another man. In fact, if you can find several men, it would be ok by me. The more the merrier!!! What? What does the Church say? Well, don’t give them any thought, they are just men out to punish you for just following your true feelings. Oh no, that whole thing about mortal sin and eternal damnation, it is all a ruse to keep you unhappy, baby. Just go be happy. After all, doesn’t God REALLY want us to be happy?”

:crying:
