I agree with you as to Cardinal Burke, but I read Cardinal Kasper as saying exactly the opposite - both most recently and in his prior public statements about divorce.
Before I reply, perhaps you could give me a “No” if I am not among your “Send them to Hell” crowd, because I don’t count myself as part of that.

As to Card. Kasper: He explicitly says that there can be no general rule to allow the divorced and remarried to receive Communion. He says there can be only very limited cases.

There is a lot of talk on this thread about “development of doctrine.” One must be very careful. All Catholics should know by now that Vatican II and the popes born of that council have publicly demonstrated many heresies and acts of apostasy (worshiping with non-Catholics, kissing Koran, etc ad nauseum.) Eghtydeuce82, (the year of birth, perhaps?) has said that the Church is the people of God and the people of God is the Church. And so, he takes a democratic view of the issue, and falls prey to the Vatican II error that the Church is still developing. The “People of God,” and their primacy is a novelty and a heresy promulgated by Modernist Rome.

Church doctrine is unchangeable. The Deposit of Faith was complete at the death of the last Apostle. Doctrine can be more clearly defined, as it was in the case of the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, but never changed or “developed.” That idea comes from the errors of darwinism and teilhardism. The Church is not, contrary to many recent heretical statements of conciliar popes, “journeying,” or “incomplete,” or “learning.” The duty of the Pope and the hierarchy is to safeguard this Deposit of Faith, a duty of which the last 5 popes have been grievously derelict.

In effect, the visible structure of the Church was hijacked at Vatican II by those holding to the Modernist heresy, and thus the prophesy of Our Lady of LaSalette was realized. “Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of antichrist.”} This is what we see today.

Kaspar is a public and notorious heretic, believing that all religions are good. Catholics should flee these enemies of the Church, whether or not they wear red hats in the Vatican. Nothing that Kaspar says can be taken seriously since, by his publically manifested heresy, he has ex-communicated himself ipso facto.

The doctrine about the indissolubility of marriage will not and cannot change. If the Vatican II sect does change it, Catholics must not go along with them.

One cannot go wrong by using the teachings of pre-conciliar popes and pre-conciliar catechisms, 1917 Cannon Law, and the work of St. Thomas Aquinas and other pre-conciliar saints as guides to True Catholic doctrine. Nothing promulgated by John Paul II, Benedict XVI or Francis can be trusted. These men were infected with Modernism and cannot transmit the Truth of the Faith.

Very sadly, this modernists sect is about to canonize their own “saint,” JP2, a man whose papacy was a dismal failure; who as pope, refused to discipline the Church and allowed errors to multiply, worshiped with members of false religions and brought confusion to millions of souls. There is little doubt that JP2 is in hell, and not a Saint of God in Heaven. With Kaspar and others, he was central in creating a new false religion, falsely using the name of Catholicism, built of previously condemned errors of ecuminism, collegiality and religious “freedom” (indifferentism.) He continued the promulgation of the “abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not, in the holy place” the new mass, while trying to use the True Mass as a bargaining chip.

If these heretics do allow Communion for the divorced, priestesses, married (homosexual?) clergy or whatnot, they will be permitting them for the new modernist religion created by Vatican II, and true Catholics must not believe that these rejections of past infallibly proclaimed doctrine are legitimate. These are not simply matters of discipline that can be changed.

Very true, which is why I really hope the Synod will clear matters up in a way people understand.
I hope so, too. Over the next two years, we’re going to get a trifecta on Marriage & Family-focused Church gatherings: The Extraordinary Synod this year, the Ordinary Synod next year, and the World Day for Families in Philadelphia next year. I anxiously await the good fruit that will come from those gatherings. It will be nice to have some more verbiage to work with in articulating these things. And so much depends on getting marriage and family right.

 Just a note for those playing at home, it is not the Catholic position that Vatican II and the recent popes “have publicly demonstrated many heresies and acts of apostasy.”

Did you recently fall off the Michael Voris band waggon? Just wondering…do you actually believe vattican II was a heracy?

Yea that one im not touching with a 10 foot pole lol…you trumped my devils advocate

Well… I am not sure that is what he said. The way Tornielli writes its hard to tell what is actually coming from the Cardinal (probably second hand) and what is from Tornielli. I am happy to wait and see what the Church actually says, and then see what how the Church actually implements the change.

can someone tell me what happened to the thread the guy who posted that about vattican II went?

I take that as a “You’re the Send them to Hell crowd” 😉

The German Bishops’ site I mentioned quotes Kasper as saying what I posted above.

Indeed, I’m waiting too.

Probably banned, since he was new and 100% of his posts were rants about Vatican II, which is prohibited on CAF.

Ah ok cause I thought were were trying to help people see the truth not throw them out banning everyone and blocking people from posting…of course if its seriously offensive i can see the reason but we could have steered him in the right direction maybe? or maybe im in communist russia? look I know there are rules but people come here for answers and some of those people are misled…shouldnt we help them instead of throwing them out?

Actually, to the extent I give it much thought I am more of a universalist - which attracts almost as much vitriol as my actually heterodox musings. (I would not consider universal salvation to be heterodox, but that is a conversation for another thread.)

So, we wait together. Hopefully not too long.

oh poop! guess I should have read that one before the last post lol!!!

Given the chastisement by the moderator, I will decline to call out individual posters, but you can read for yourself.
I find no one on this thread that fits that description. Perhaps you are thinking of another thread?
As to “over-riding the words of Christ,” can you point me to where Christ said that the Church should deny communion to the remarried for all time? I am familiar with his statements about divorce, but I didn’t catch his express instruction to deny sacraments on that basis.
Sure, right after you point me to where Christ said “communion” or “sacrament”.😉

What does the Church teach regarding receiving the Eucharist while in a state of mortal sin (and yes, adultery would fall into that category)?

Does the Church have the power to bind and loosen on this earth?

Peace

Tim

He was refering to the moderator coming in and reminding people to be civil…this happened because of me as I was temporarily banned and had to get reinstated…maybe he took it personal but it was infact for me.

Also this state of mortal sin can only be obsolved by a priest correct? Then why does the church give an out that one can confess to god directly in emergency situations?

Because Confession is the regular means by which we obtain forgiveness. God is not bound by His Sacraments.

do you see the parallel here? we say that sins must be confessed and forgiven but in the case of re-marriage your out of luck…unless you about to die then you confess to god and all is well.

A priest cant help you here you have to go to the instution and a tribunal of people have to determine if your marriage can be anulled? and if it cant well your stuck in sin sorry…but hey right before you die ask for forgivness and it will be granted…

P.S,. sorry for that earth stuff and not being able to forgive you via priest!

No, I do not see the parallel.

Honestly this is what im hearing from everyone and I know your just reiterating the teachings of the church so yea…

Basically for someone there is no recourse if you were to have divorced and remarried no matter the reason…if it wasnt anuled then you are in facto living in sin period! There is zero outlet to be forgiven here on this earth and the only outlet is if god forgives you but only if you ask right before you die in a emergency situation! In effect if you forget to ask forgiveness upon death no matter how good of a person you were or good deeds that you have done on this earth you are going to burn in hell…

Do you understand why, in the situation of a divorce and remarriage without an annulment, there is is zero outlet to be forgiven on this earth short of God’s grace just before you die? Do you believe that it is just the obstinate position of the Church?

Peace

Tim
