JCPhoenix:
Beng,

Who died and made you God? Because it sure wasn’t Jesus.
No one.
I do not identify myself as a Charismatic but it was very nice for once to partake in a thread that didn’t involve flaming of your type.
  1. I’m not flaming
  2. Look for thread whcih does not involve charismaticism. I probably won’t be there.
I’m sorry if you disagree with the movement, but obviously you are acting not as a concerned Christian, but rather by your own will irregardless of the teachings of Christ, the Holy Father, or the Bible.
I gave biblical verses and cite Fr Most.
Please take youself to a Bible study through your parish and engross yourself in that rather than the negativity you are choosing to spread here. Life is too short to spend flaming threads on message boards.
  1. I don’t flame
  2. I shall show people the error of Charismaticism. It’s dangerous.
I am pro life. I think you should have one.
An insult?
I just think you should take yours somewhere more positive and in cohesion with the teachings especially referencing the love of Christ.
God bless and don’t let the door hitcha.
Of coruse not, this is a bulletin board.
Come on back if you can get out of the black cloud you’re in. We’d all be happy to meet you in the true spirit of Christ.
The spirit of Christ are obedience of the Bible and don’t come near questionable doctrines.

Beng,

Have you read my post to you? If not, please read my post #1 and then my post #96.

This is NOT a debate thread.

SPOKENWORD:
In the love of Jesus Christ why are you tearing up the body of Christ.
Tearing it up? It’s the Charismaticism that is spreading erroneous doctrine and the spirit of disobedience.
That is what you are doing and that saddens me and my Lord…
And disobedience plus erroneous doctrine borderline to heresy do not?
No one is forcing you to come to this topic.
Correct.
We are here to build up each other not tear down the body of Christ.
I’m not tearing it down.
Even if you think you are right ,you are wrong in the way you are speaking to your brothers and sisters.
How am I speaking? How am I suppose to speak?
You need to repent as I do for the way we are treating each other.
I don’t treat eaach other badly.
Are we walking in the Love of Jesus Christ.? That is what we need to ask ourselves.
Of course I am. I’m inline with Church teaching.
P/s Please forgive me for the times I have been uncharitable towards you. I try but there are times I fail. God Bless you Beng.
I don’t remember you did. But if you have it doesn’t matter. I’ve also never said any non charitable thing to you.

As you can see,if you read my first post, this is not a thread for debate. I would request that you stop posting discussions to these folks that are critical of the Charismatic Renewal. There are other threads open to that or you can start your own thread for argument and debate.

Once again, this thread IS NOT for debate but a placed where folks can come and share their experiences or simply ask questions or give out good information.

Thanks for respecting our desires for a peaceful thread.
It’s hard to resist. When there’s error it needs correction.

If you see a bunch of 12 years old kids telling each other about their sexual experience would you be quiet and not reprimand them?

This is even worst for me. How people continue to not understand that they are ruled by the new phenomenom of “warm fuzzy feeling” that is charismaticism.

Hi, All,

New to this forum, old to the CCR ('68).

Seems like there are a couple of familiar names from other times and other forums here as well.

Always happy to meet and talk with those who’ve been involved with the CCR, newbies as well as old-hands.

Also want to see if clicking on my signature will take me to what’s left of my home page. 👍 :yup: Give it a try.

Rhetorical question: Will putting a person’s username on my ignore list filter out their messages? If that’s all it takes to avoid the nay-sayers on this forum, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Peace,

Good Morning Church

It would appear that we will be able to maintain this thread for what it was inteded to be without the debate that happen in othe places.

When we get distracted, please do not get discouraged and leave or let the thread die. We really do need a place where we can get together to share the Love of the Lord.

Hi EMK!

I think I may had your old webpage on my favorites list at one time. Can’t you get that website up and running again?
You and I go back in the CCR to about the same time.

This weekend I am attending a CCR Retreat, so haven’t had a lot of time here online. It appears that at least one Prayer group will be started as a result of this Retreat, maybe three. We have three parishes up here, so please keep us in your prayers.

At one time this area was a hub for the Charismatic Renewal in the Northern California area. From what I have been told, there was a massive Spiritual attack and not much was left but wounded folks and memories. Lots of prayer has gone into this area and now, once again, we are experiencing a move of the Holy Spirit and we are seeing healing.

Hi, SuZ

:yup: 'Tis I, one and the same.

I’ve been following your work on the SI newsletter. Keep up the good work.

Do you ever get back to see Msgr. Walsh. His Web site has mostly disappeared. I don’t know if he’s still around or not. I’ve read most of his books (good material but somewhat dated…written pre-PC era).

OAN: Did you have to import the special smiley you used with High Handsome in it? Clever.

More later,

Hi, RobertaF,
Can’t you get that website up and running again?
Stay tuned, I’m working on a bigger/better one. In the meantime, here are a couple of articles from my Web site that pertain to what just happened on this forum. The first link is an answer to **the old argument about “don’t rashly seek after…” ** The second is an insight into the behaviorof those who are prone to shoot at anything that moves in the Church, including the Holy Spirit.🙂

BTW, I assume that it was you who may have alerted the forum moderator(s) to what was happening. Many thanks! :tiphat: The nay-sayer went from suspended status to Senior Member back to suspended in the wink of an eye.
From what I have been told, there was a massive Spiritual attack [in northern Cal.] and not much was left but wounded folks and memories.
I’d heard something about that. The impression I got was that there was a period of uncontrolled, explosive growth and not enough leaders and discerners to deal with the aberrations that swept in. *Almost like the rash of wildfires that have taken place in the past couple of years, eh? *

Hope you have a good retreat and that the work you do bears fruit that lasts.

Peace,

Yes, that was part of it. I also have heard other things, even competion between prayer groups. You and I have been in this long enough to have seen many of the attacks and yes, even abuses.
God is ready to send His blessings out over these hungry people again.

The Retreat was wonderful. Abbot David was the leader. How could it not be wonderful with this beautiful, gifted man of God being part of it.

I expect to see miracles and great fruits as a result of this weekend. I offered all of you up at the closing Mass today. Hope you feel blessed!

HI ed,

Seriously what would usins do without nay-sayers… 🙂 then we’d be just left with laughing at each others old jokes…

Suz told me to give it a try and look I’ve found old friends. With
the hope of lots of new ones…nice to see you here ed. Miss you on chat…and ahem Sue you too, .😛 😉

God bless,
Elaine

Thanks Roberta! I offered my Communion for you and yours today…hope things are going according to God’s perfect will.
Annunciata:)
p.s. please share some of the fruits of the weekend

Here’s an example of the “dangerous heretical” things our Charismatic Community is doing. Tonight, while the rest of the world goes out for Trick Or Treating dressed in less than easy-to-look-at costumes, we’ll be starting the evening with a Mass. Then our children (under 17) will proceed to the gym for out annual All saints Party. No admission, but you have to be dressed as a saint or Bible character to get in. Many booths with games like Pearl of Great Price, Horse and Rider, and Fishers of Men. Candy and homebaked treats for all. At 8 PM we will end with the Litany of The Saints, which on this evening usually takes us better than a half hour, as we call on every saint represented at the party.

During the entire party, we will also have a group of our adult leaders, about ten usually, in our school’s Eucharistic Chapel of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, praying for the sins of the world and for the protection of all children tonight.

Love being Catholic. Love being Charismatic!! 😃

PS-- I think Fr. Cantalamessa was at the conference in Fiuggi this weekend, not sure. He was there last time in 2002.

Oh Wow!

The kids in your area are bound to have a lot more fun than most kids. This sounds great!

And no worries about taking candy and fruit to the local hospital to be xrayed or tested before eating.

It saddens me when a christian brother falls, but this is what happens when someone has an unteachable spirit. We should all pray [in tongues if possible] and lift up our brother Beng before the Lord, Only God knows what Beng needs to bring him back into Gods Love. With God all things are possible. 👍

Yes! I agree we should all lift him up and saturate him with prayer whether it be tongues or any form of intercessory prayer and also our sister Tru_…I really feel they think they are doing the right thing and they do love the Catholic Church so passionately… but without a teachable spirit they will never be able to accept or at the very least try to understand the CCR. Annunciata:)

I agree!

Father we lift up Beng and Tru_ to you for your Blessings. We love them and pray that you open themselves up to all that you have to offer.
We are told, where two or more are gathered in Jesus name, there He will be also. We gather as community now and welcome our Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit and you my Heavenly Father into our midst.

Anyone of you, please feel free to step in and share this moment.

I did get back to Philly a few times, but not recently. We started to make plans a few times, but it never materialized.

Have you heard from anyone else? It was nagging at me, so perhaps now I will see what I can find out.

Thanks for visiting the SI Conference website & commenting on it. It is our silver jubillee this year, and we hope to have some events sparked with real fire.

SuZ
