The Sacrament of Communion is not open to all those who wish to receive it. That is not my agenda it is the Church’s. The Church teaches sodomy is a sin that cries to the Heavens. Homosexual ‘marriage’ is forbidden. It is therefore hypocritical and not appropriate to condone this act in public spectacles such as a parade.

Can you show me where in the rubics applause is called for?
👍

The sin of sodomy is not the issue here, welcoming all those who wish to freely worship is. Why cloud the issue with your own agenda? Applause has no place in mass? Why do you not agree with the Rubrics of the Roman Catholic mass? 👍
Where in the rubrics does the Church call for applause at mass? The problem is that the pairsh does promote same-sex acts. Just watch the videos of some of the parishioners how they speak about “my partner” and “me and my partner feel welcome here” this usually means that this person is active in same sex acts.

I’m a little confused…

did the bishop tell them to not use the banner that would associate them w/ the Church…

and they disobeyed?

last time i heard they were planning on disobeying…

but i guess they chnged their minds??

if so, what made them cahnge?

“Put all the good works in the world against one Holy Mass; they will be as a grain of sand beside a mountain.” - St. John Vianney, The Cure of Ars.

If a pastor/priest/parish can’t get the Mass right - nothing else matters.
👍
Too bad people rather show off there “pride” instead on focusing on bringing Christ to everyone. Being Catholic is too never compromise with sin.

Christ’s real presence is in the Eucharist, exactly where you’d expect at a Roman Catholic mass. Very Good Indeed! Why are you so jealous of them?
Jealous? are you kidding me? why in the world, would i be jealous of such a thing?

i am jealous of a Traditional Parish, the beautifull Worship, the True Teachings of the Church in the Traditional Catholic Church. the morals of the Traditional CC. that is what i am jealous of and want to be part of.

arent you listen to the holy father? or do you choose to ignore his words? is he not fighting against homosexualism and imorality in our world today? why do you then contemplate that is ok for a CC to be doing those things which is contrary to Church’s teachings? all in the name of doing good. do you really think that i let myself be impressed by good works from these people? does that mean to you that is long as we do good works, we can be disobedient to God and continue in our sins?

They only hear what they want to hear. To them it’s all about “what makes me feel good and funzzy” that’s what they are truly guided by. Pray for them.

I tell you who i pray for. i pray to the Tradtional CC to make a full come back and gather all the Catholics in one fold just like before.

perhaps he can make a connection of what is going in teh Church today with this quote, but yet he may not.

Quote from Pope Paul VI: “The tail of the devil is functioning in the disintegration of the Catholic world. The darkness of satan has entered and spread throughout the Catholic Church even to its summit. Apostasy, the loss of the faith, is spreading throughout the world and into the highest levels within the Church.” - Pope Paul VI, October 13, 1977

if this is a Jesuit parish, should they be reported to the Jesuits? how much authority has the local Archbishop have over the religious priests?

A catholic told me that the Jesuits are different from other orders in general and that they
made a deal with the vatican that they would do their own thing but never try to be Pope.

Does anyone know if that’s true.

BTW, thanks for the link and I believe that the Gay community has a right to profess their
faith so I’m okay with the blank banner as a form of gentle protest.

Well, they didn’t use a blank banner; they turned the banner around - so you could still easily see that it said St Francis Xavier parish.

Do you really believe that there isn’t a problem with actively gay people in a gay pride parade - where x-rated behavior goes on - professing that they are Catholic? “Catholic” and “gay pride parade” do not go together.

Do you really not see that there is a problem when a church sanctions the use of their parish banner in such a situation?

If one is in an active gay lifestyle, s/he is not a Catholic in good standing. If s/he insists on living the lifestyle, s/he should leave the CC - not destroy it.

Correct, cyb - but also, they wore t-shirts with a large rainbow colored cross emblazoned with the name of the parish in very clear large letters, leaving no doubt as to where they were from. This is obeying the letter of the law not the spirit of the law. I think we know how God feels about that.

Pride in yourself is essential for growth and esteem. I’m female and I’m proud…what’s wrong with that?

Well, they are Catholic if they were baptized into the Church, and even the Church admits that being homosexual is NOT a sin, furthermore, the Church did not sanction the use of their banner so that’s not a relevant point.

I do not think that Gays in the Church, even if they are in a relationship can destroy the Church. If you are correct and having a partner in a Gay relationship is wrong, wouldn’t they be better off IN Church rather than on the outside, isn’t there more of a chance that they might come to the Lord because they DO have a supportive community and a place
to worship? If you are wrong then it doesn’t matter what anyone says, Gay people are
okay with God and your Church will come to wisdom and understand and learn to accept them.

Actually, it is a relevant point. Where do you think that banner came from? It’s been in use at the Pride March in years past. Just do a simple google search and you’ll find it. And how about those t-shirts?

It is not a sin to be homosexual and Catholic. It is a sin to live an ongoing, unrepentant homosexual lifestyle. It is a sin to proselytize and promote the homosexual lifestyle.

Might I refer you to COURAGE - a group that supports Catholics who struggle with homosexual attraction, but who are committed to living a chaste, authentic Catholic life. You may want to look at the section of their site entitled “Five Goals”.

Yeah the parade is full of sexual content just look at any youtube video of it. Also no Catholic should be participating in those types of events because they are placing themselves in a situation of possible sin. Example: it’s one thing to pray or protest outside of a strip clun, but another to go inside of it to try to make a point, that latter really makes no sence.

They also handed out pamphlets of the parish information I saw this on netnewyork’s Youtube Channel

Being proud in what sence? Loving yourself as God loves you is one thing, but being prideful like the devil is is another thing. Loving your self alone is not enough for salvation, you must love God and this requires dying within one-self.

The parish was going to sanction the use of the banner until the Bishop requested not to

You make a decent point, but not good enough. I will give you an example: I love women, and one the of hardest things for me was to give up intimacy outside of marriage, now some could even call me an addict, but should the Church allow me to continue my sinful way? God does allow all of us to choose our way, but he gives us truth through the Holy Church and truth of God NEVER CHANGES. To be Catholic means to sacrifice many things, not picking and choosing want we want to follow. Those who believe the Church will change her views on homosexuality are wasting their time in a lost cause
CYB, just tell me in your own words what you want to convey.
Now you are just trying to start controversy with this statment.
By the way please use the qutoe button on the lower right hand side when quoting someone, it makes it much easier for everyone to read. God bless.

it seems as some in here are ok with these Catholics parading for gays rights as long as they dont use the banner. what does it matter if they use the banner or not. they are doing what they want do anyway. these people are in the Church and the world knows that the CC is ok with these gay couples. can we really talk about other religions that have just the same? know we cant. we are no different from the others. what these gay people are doing in protestant congregation they are also doing in the CC with permission.

At some point in the future, Catholics who are bigoted against gays will repent of their evil hatred, just as they have for their hatred against Jews, and their support of slavery after the Emancipation Proclamation (cf ‘Battle Cry of Freedom’.) I know people dress up bigotry in nice terms about ‘protecting the family’ and other such nonsense, but they did the same thing when interracial marriage was prohibited (cf the ‘Loving vs. Virginia’ decision and reactions.)

Disgusting. Truly offensive this rabid support for bigotry, regardless of what weasel words are used to defend it.

No, I’m not, there are two sides to everything, what I tell you and what you believe I tell you, ie…what you HEAR.
