I have never owned a gun, and it doesn’t seem to have done me any harm. Possibly when I was at school the use of guns was taught as part of the cadet corps. Unless children are weighing up a career in the military I really don’t see why they need to know how to use a gun, let alone “have guns”, even if, to be fair, you qualify it with “and gun safety instruction”.

To be fair, I don’t know anything about OP and their children’s firearm use, but where I live gun use with minors is quite common.

And you do realise that some people cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, and they are protected by the rest of the population being vaccinated?

That’s fine if you see it that way. I happen to see it differently. And I’m at liberty to arm my kids if I choose.

Scott84, I can see ABS’s point. My daughter went to public HS in St. Louis and was challenged to defend her faith in a positive way. She wasn’t bullied for her faith, perhaps because she respectfully explained her POV and the teachers demanded she be respected in return. One teacher made a lovely entry in her year book about what a joy it was to have a catholic apologist in his class. Proud Mama moment right there!

Sure, like I said…I’d just be careful letting “my” kids around young ones that haven’t been vaccinated. Otherwise your kids – your prerogative – and whatever “science” you have to back it up.

I only mentioned it in passing when I pointed out that one of the benefits of homeschooling was that there is no mandatory vaccinations. I agree, this is not the intent of the OP. I will refrain from any more discussion on this.

Lemuel is the only one making any sense here.

We don’t vaccinate either. It gets really old, really fast, having to defend your decision to keep your kids safe. I wouldn’t do TC3033’s research either.
