Now, about the West. It seems to be impossible for non-Western Muslims to understand that Christianity forbids many things that occure in society. It is, but one cannot deny the similar attitudes both Sunni and Shi’ite sects have towards women. Even if the doctrine of Nikah Mut’ah is exclusively a Shi’a invention, some Sunni Muslims have made up their own self-styled versions of the Shi’a doctrine. If you have been to Batam (an island of Indonesia), you can find scores of Muslim girls (usually prostitutes) with Sunni Muslim men frolicking around the red light district area. When caught, they say “if the Shi’a’s can do it, so can i”. Perhaps swariffin or morning_star can testify to this as they are Indonesians themselves.

i am sickened and at a complete loss for why these teachings from an islamic scholar did not make every single (shiite) muslim turn from their religion in disgust. no one can say they might have held personally different views when their own religion doesn’t allow for that.

In Quran , God orders us take care of orphan child & So , its obvious how important it is for a parent to take care of their own kids. About returning property of orphans , command is — Keep testing these orphans till the time that they reach the age of adolescence/marriage…” (Al-Nisa’ 4: 6) .
So , regarding this verse is saying that wait till they reach puberty…so it can be used as the minimum age for marriage. Also , marriage means responsiblity , a husband is responsible to fulfill his wife’s all kinds of needs . A man is forbidden to keep his wife with this evil intention to mistreat her…there is specific verse againt those evil mentality.
If any man breaks God’s command , he becomes a sinner & action should be taken against him .

the difference between your laws - which are also man made. The laws that God gave to us were of a total of 10 - they are called the 10 commandments. And those 10 Commandments were something that not even mohammed could follow so he had to redefine the laws and just say that ‘allah said it was so…’. As for the laws of a country - it is good that most countries have laws that are NOT sharia law. I didn’t start out condemning islam - I have just read too much about it and that includes the koran, many of its hadiths, its history both past and present. the more I read the more I realize what a farce it is. And yes, I think that it is evil.
What other religion twists murder, torture - and all of the 7 deadly sins (greed, sloth, lust, etc) and deception into a holy thing?! Only islam. mohammed broke so many of the 10 Commandments that he had to redefine sin and that is why all these atrocities are still allowed in islam. The marrying of children is a minor thing to them. We shouldn’t be surprised that muslims defend this, or practice it. They practice this, polygamy, they send their children out to be murderers - oh er I mean martyrs so that martyr can go to heaven and name them as one of the saved! What sickness is this?
