TeenCatholicGuy:

I didn’t say “Government should stay out” (here).

You did. You put those words in my mouth. I didn’t say them…

I said you can SEND YOUR OWN MONEY, regardless of what the US Government does or doesn’t do.

And I am also saying . . .

HOW MUCH MONEY, have YOU sent these agencies?

The question still remains.
  1. I’m Canadian, which means I am currently under a Government which is going to FOLLOW the Paris Accords and surpass it. (I hope)
  2. I’m 15. I do what I can. My house is ran by pure Hydroelectricity, I turn off lights when I can, we don’t use a Dryer, we use an Electric Water Heater+Furnace, etc.
  3. You don’t need to give money to fight climate change or Global warming.
Here are some tips, most cost little to no $.

I am not sure how I disregarded your quote.

So let’s start over.

Regarding your bible quote: I agree with you God gave the world to us. We are obligated to use our gifts responsibly. Abuse, waste, neglect of the environment are sinful.
Then WHY do you use Coal-power, and why do you support a President who thinks that “Clean Coal” exists and that Fossil Fuel jobs NEED to be protected, while other industries, like Solar and Wind have created more good jobs then Coal, Oil or Gas Combined!

Just happens…

Hmm…
Please do clarify your meaning. I assume you read the link, from NASA detailing the evidence in favor for the Theory of Anthropogenic Climate Change, hence I assume my current interpretation of your post as insinuating I am against the current scientific consensus is in error, triggering this request for a clarification as to your meaning.

@Meltzer, ah whoops on my part. Thanks for the clarification.

So what. Canadian or not, you can still send your money. After all, the earth is at stake here right?

How much have you sent?
You don’t need to give money to fight climate change or Global warming.
So America can pull out all funding and your “good” with that?

You as a person. Governments need to invest.

You took out the part that I’m 15, what money?

how can you follow something and surpass it when it has no stated goals? it allows the individual countries to set their own goals. therefore china will follow it and surpass its goals while building coal plants and increasing emissions.

works for india also

Um, okay…

This is how our conversation these last few posts went.

Me: Post addressing a general concept, included link to NASA with evidence in favor of Global Warming.

You: Hmm… so you don’t believe it…

Me: Subtly trying to say, “I don’t think you understood what I was saying.”

You: Post a link to the same agency I posted a link from.

🤷

I’ve argued how India and China cannot be held to the same standards, because they are still developing countries with their own issues. 1 size fits all doesn’t work

Yeah, because right on the home page of that agency,

there is a section with several buttons.

The first button says “evidence”

when you hover over it with your mouse, it says “How do we know Climate Change is real?”

…Abortion rates fall quicker under Democratic Presidents then Republican ones.

Healthcare, Programs that help the Poor (CORE Catholic and Christian Values) are linked to falling Abortion rates. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_statistics_in_the_United_States

Therefore, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, supporting Democratic politics leads to what we want, Lower Abortion Rates…
I’m not sure that is what pro-lifer conservatives really want. I think they want to punish those who have abortions or are involved in abortions. IF they really had any respect for life they’d be mitigating GW and other env problems that harm and kill people, which is something people can do in their personal lives, while it is very difficult to prevent women from having abortions, whether legal or illegal, since they usually don’t go around broadcasting it before hand.

I guess the best of all solutions would be for Democrats to at least start encouraging people not to have abortions, but to have their babies – not just implement pro-life programs (which Dems are good at), but also in their words. They might never go to making abortions illegal as in the past (when I was a young woman), because there were so many problems with that, including botched abortions, easy illegal abortions (my grandma had one circa 1908), and women having to go before boards of people to apply for a legal abortion and problems with that, plus workers in half-way houses (where girls could have their babies) mistreating those girls. I’m okay going back to those times (even with all the problems), because I was always against making abortion legal in the first place, but I don’t think others who have any sympathy for the women with unwanted pregnancies would want to, thinking it better just to work and help those women want those babies, at least long enough to give birth and give them up for adoption.

As for the Republican Party, it is pretty much pro-death and morally bankrupt, with little hope of coming clean, getting out of the fossil-fuel headlock, and doing what is right. I do not think they really want to reduce abortions, only to punish, or use the issue to sway naïve voters to their side, those who do not look deep into issues as you do.

Are you saying you have or have NOT sent money off for carbon credits?

Go to work bagging groceries. Send the UN your allowance. Trade in your X-Box and cell phone and computer.

Every little bit helps to save the planet . . . . Doesn’t it?

The American taxpayers are 20 Trillion Dollars in debt (this is even BEFORE “the Don” as you called President Trump).

What money”?

Apparently you did not understand what I said. This is essentially the conversation boiled down to its essence now.

GW= Global Warming

Me: GW is real.
You: Read the facts, GW is real.
Me: Um, okay, I just said GW is real.
You: Stop saying GW isn’t real. It is.

Do you see how I must be a bit confused by what you’re doing and maybe a little ticked off?

Please forgive that, I am currently in the mist of 2 different conversations with several people vs me, I’ll do my best to differentiate in the future.

in my OP, I called into question what was the most important issue, Something we can fix (Climate Change) or something we can’t stop (Abortion)?

If you are a Republican/Conservative just because of Abortion, you are supporting that party for the wrong reasons…
  1. Abortion–killing our own children, killing children period, destroying them with saline solutions that burn their skin, ripping their limbs off, stabbing them in the base of the skull AS they’re coming out the birth canal–that’s far more important.
  2. Again, you’re making assumptions. As to debating which party leads to lower abortion, all I can say is…do your research. Those of us who are NOT 15 have jobs. Yes, it’s 1 in the morning here and I’m still working because I have neither mommy, daddy, nor big government to pay my bills for me. So please take the time to do your own research rather than use all the free time you obviously have (thanks to mommy and daddy supporting you) to actually research these issues.
You took out the part that I’m 15, what money?
Bingo. How in the world do you think at the age of 15, with no actual money of your own, that you have any authority to tell adults who actually earn their way in life, all about money and what they should be doing with theirs?

Go get a job. Pay your rent, provide your own food, be able to pay for the car or bus that gets you to your job, etc., and then come back and tell us all about what we should be doing with our money and how finances and economics work.

Your sarcasm isn’t appreciated. It is 100% America’s fault it has this debt.

If only they didn’t spend so much on Militar… wait a minute, back to this again…

Maybe Trump really is worse then he appears!

That’s just stupid. Just because their position don’t jive with what you think think they should be doesn’t mean that they are “against all of those things.”

By the way, I’ll second that you’re not 15.
What’s with this attack on the poster’s stated age? Firstly, I don’t see how its relevant… secondly, not all 15 year olds are idiots who spend their time getting drunk at illicit parties. I wasn’t much older than that when I joined this forum way back in 2004 as a teenager in the process of converting to Catholicism.

And I have the blessing of being a Confirmed Catholic.

I agree on it’s irrelevance.

Several posters have used my age to attack me in other threads, too.
