I never claimed anything else! thats true, there is only one truth…and im sure its islam
Interesting how many opinons you can find between muslems. Why is there no unity inside your religion?

Muslems claim that Islam is the last religion which is completing Christianity, while Mohamed is the last prophet, which doesn’t come to contradict the Bible ( people of the book, how christians are called), but to finalize it.
Wrong!
Between the Biblie and Coran there is nothing common, except the fact, or statement that there is one GOD. The rest is opposite. Nobody who can read both books can imagine for a second that the source is one and the same.

So, the truth is only one. The way you are sure it is islam ( maybe you can explain what makes you so sure), the same way we are sure the truth is in the Catholic Church.

Love is always our founder Jesus Christ interpretation for His disciples as Christians from the biblical scriptures. Slavery is always the interpretation of the founder of Islam Muhammad.
And one should never be confounded with the other.
The origin of all slavery is violence.
The sustainer of slavery is violence.

And why would we when we dont believe in the Bible? we do believe that it originally came from God,but today its not the true Bible anymore…since it is very corrupted…thats why the Koran came.
I heard this over and over again. All muslems are taught since babies to repeat the same things. I know all your answers by heart already.

PLease prove us that Coran is real, from GOD. Present us the proof.

Is that what he believes? Because there are quite a few names in the koran that are allegedly found in the Bible. When you compare the two, the koran has an incomplete list of the names that are mentioned throughout Old and New Testaments. There are a few stories that are retold about Abraham, Moses and Jesus, and there are some commentary on Judaism & Christianity too like:
What I mean are direct quotations. Let me give an example from the New Testament:

What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.” [Romans 3:9-11; ESV]

The apostle Paul here is directly quoting from the Psalms. As I said, this is just one example, but there are hundreds more throughout the New Testament. The Quran, on the other hand, continually claims it is in line with the previous revelation, and sometimes tells Jews and Christians to read their scriptures to find Mohammad, but it doesn’t have a single quote from the Old or New Testaments to verify what it says. Instead, it name-drops or makes vague references or paraphrases a story or two, or in some instances simply makes stories up. The question for us is, if the Quran is supposedly a revelation from God, why did God change His mode of revelation?

I hope that clarified my point a bit.

Oh my dear… Byz…

I wish I had a dollar ($) everytime you have asked this question on here and have yet to receive an answer…

Indeed. One would think if it was an easy question to answer, it would have been answered by now. 😦

Then you have to ask yourself a question, and then give yourself an honest answer: is God a victim of fatalism? What I mean by that is: is God unable to stop the actions of man from corrupting His word? I know you might say, “Yes, and that’s what He did with the Quran,” but stop and ask yourself: if God is able to preserve the Quran from corruption…why couldn’t He do it with the Torat and Injil? If God is truly all powerful, why could He not use such power to preserve His commands to humanity through Moses and Jesus? Sincerely ponder on those questions before answering it for yourself.
it was his plane to reserve only the massage of his last prophet

How can you say to you God is Allah. From the arabic name’s point of view, yes. But from the perception of GOD in both religion it is completly wrong.
Muslems denie the Holy Trinity, for them Christ is just a prophet, and a lower one than Mohammed, he was never crucified.
This is essential. We are not reffering to the same GOD.
In the Biblie it is said to love your neighbour, to forgive, in Coran the reverse. If you want quotes from Coran i can bring you, but you can easely find them on the net as well.
Just reading Coran makes it more than clear that is is not divine, it is a complete contradiction to the Bible. There is only one truth, not more.
Yes, they claim there is 1 GOD, but in the same time they claim we pray to 3 GODS.
Try talking to a muslem and you will be shocked.
These are all matters of faith and perception.
Muslims believe what they do and declare that Christianity is profane. They do so not out of malice, but in order to retain their faith.
A Muslim is as entitled to integrity as any of us; and for them, integrity is keeping Islam.
As a Christian and Westerner, I find much of Islam abhorrent. It’s a faith I do not and can never imagine myself practicing. I believe it to be profane.
That doesn’t mean I’m going to spend my time despising those who practice Islam.
But it does mean that I tell them the truth about myself, and that I should appreciate it when they tell the truth about themselves.

One thing that really puzzles me about the Koran and about Islam is that the Koran doesn’t actually name and infact Islam wasn’t even sure for a long time who Abraham was about to sacrifice. The FACT is that it’s Isaac.

The CCC calls Islam (and I would also think the Koran) knowing that the Faith of Abraham is what connects us all in the family of God. But if the Koran isn’t clear about the instruction given by God to Abraham, it confounds me.

Why, and where is that written?
The earlier prophets and their books were sent to a particular people in particular periods of history. Once the period ended, a new prophet was sent with a new book to replace the previous book. So, it was not necessary that these books be preserved by Allah. The preservation of the earlier books was left up to the people as a test for them. Thus, when the people went astray, they changed what was written in the books which their prophets brought in order to make allowable the things which were forbidden to them. In that way, all of the earlier books of revelation became either changed or lost.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the last prophet whom Allah sent, and he was not sent to a particular people or a particular time. He was sent to all of mankind until the end of the world. Allah said in the Quran,

“I have only sent you (Muhammad) as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most men do not understand.”[Noble Quran 34:28]
Thus, his book of revelation, the Quran, had to be specially preserved from any form of change or loss so that it would be available to all the generations of man until the last day of the world.

The Quran was the main miracle given to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to prove that he was a true prophet of Allah and not an imposter. So, the Quran had to be saved to prove to the later generations that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was really the last prophet of Allah. All of the false prophets who came after Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought books which they claimed to be revealed from Allah, but none of them have the miraculous ability to be memorized by thousands, nor have they improved on the message of the Quran. The significance of the Quran’s preservation is that Islam has been kept in its original purity because of it. Humanity can always return to the sources of Islam no matter what people may have added or forgotten in time. All of the essential principles of Islam are to be found in the Quran.
Consequently, the preservation of the Quran meant the preservation of Islam in its final form. The loss of the Gospel of Jesus means that Christians can never return to the true teachings of Prophet Jesus except by accepting Islam. Similarly, the original Torah was lost when Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians. Thus, the Jews cannot return to the pure teachings of Prophet Moses except by following Islam. It is only in Islam that the pure teachings of the prophets have been preserved without any change.

What kind of proof do you have elwill for the previous existence of a ‘Gospel of Jesus’?

I would have thought that if Jesus brought a book with Him, we should have at least a report that there was such a book.

MARK 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of The Kingdom of God

i think that these preaching supposed to be recorded in hebrew or aramic (languge of jesus ) by his apostles , or do you think that mathew and John and luke wrote in Greek from the begining ?

Do we have that True Gospel which Jesus Christ (pbuh) Preached in Hebrew or Aramaic?

These Gospels which were written down 100 Years after Jesus (pbuh) ascension, circulated anonymously, no names were attached to them until almost 200 and the Christian theologians who came up with the idea of having a New Testament was condemned as heretic.

How can Christians rely on the accounts in these Gospels which are the basic Pillars of their Faith?

is that your opinion or reality?

Muslims say they believe in all prophets but what is the use of thei belief if what they preached was never going to be used by muslims? And if so why are they following the practices of old, like sacrifice which Abraham did with isaac? There was no need. But by following the practices of OT, and than believing in prophets just for name sake is quite odd, if allah wanted only the book revealed to mohammed to be the well preserved book.

For that History will have to be revisited to know what languages were spoken in these countires in and after 33AD, I do feel that Roman and Greek were very popular amongst the educated masses than, so its safe to say that Greek was well spoken during those days. I do hope someone can share their knowledge here. 🙂

But what about the RCC? We never claimed that we brought books. We do claim Yes that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but it is not needed for our faith. We have the Holy Spirit to lead us to truth. You agree that Jesus was a true Prophet correct? If you agree with this, and you do agree that he was the Son of God why would you feel that we need books to teach his word then. Jesus never said read books. Jesus the True Son of God said listen to the CHURCH. How does you faith get around that one?

That is quiet simple. We believe the words of Jesus Christ. He said I will be leaving you soon, but I will be sending you the Advocate the Holy Spirit to lead you to all truth. The Holy Spirit cannot lead us astray.

Christian’s never had to rely on Gospels. We as Roman Catholic rely on the CHURCH the living word to lead us to all truth. The word of God does not say that the gospels are the basic pillar of our faith. The word of God says the Church is the Pillar of All Faith. Actually the gosple says that the word is good to read

If you took every word written and burned it, it would never end the teaching’s of the Church. Because the Holy Spirit does not use Books to teach. The Holy Spirit is the living CHrist speaking to us through the Living Church.

First Tim. 4:14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word with the imposition of hand of the presbyterate. (that gift is the Gift of the Holy Spirit given to the leaders of the Church to preach and teach his word.) Attend to yourself and to your teaching, preserve in both tasks for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

What proof, other than mohommad said so, is there that these books were corrupted & his is the right one? Based on what can you toss out all the Christians & Jews have always taught about their own faiths? I do not understand that. He said so so it must be true because he said so is circular logic but you want US to believe that WE are wrong?
We are wrong that Jesus told us to love our enemies & that Allah ACTUALLY wants us to kill them or make them pay taxes instead?
I guess I am having a hard time understanding how Jesus teaches about love, acceptance of repentant sinners, caring for others out of sincere charity, trying to persuade others using words, reason & deeds & spent his life NONviolently, unto his death, mohammad teaches peace & love for muslims only & the unbelievers are less than human creatures of God & are not allowed to be your friend, to be trusted, subjugated, to rape or murder is no big deal, no inquiry, no freedom, no love, and you are telling me it is the SAME God. It simply isnt rational.

Elwill,
It says that Jesus came out of Galilee PREACHING, not writing. That means speaking orally, that was how things were done in many places back then. I am quite sure you have already had all of that explained to you before. Mohammad said Jesus brought a book because mohammad said he brought a book he must have brought a book because mohammad said so.
But the followers of Jesus NEVER claimed Jesus brought a book! Jesus never claimed to have brought a book. He brought us good News. Teaching, preaching & by His PERFECT example. The only death was His, no other Jews lost their heads when He was here.

i think that these preaching supposed to be recorded in hebrew or aramic (languge of jesus ) by his apostles , or do you think that mathew and John and luke wrote in Greek from the begining ?
God’s language is not the speaker or the writer’s language.
If you really believe that God is the God of all people, then the language in which he or his prophet writes is irrelevant.
Do we have that True Gospel which Jesus Christ (pbuh) Preached in Hebrew or Aramaic?
The gospel is not what Jesus wrote.
Jesus did not write anything down as far as we know.
And that is appropriate, because he lived in a highly oral culture, and his ministry was centered around interaction with people, not interaction with pages or his own imagination.
He was engaged in dialogue.
He was not engaged with himself.
This should strengthen our faith in him, not weaken it.
These Gospels which were written down 100 Years after Jesus (pbuh) ascension, circulated anonymously, no names were attached to them until almost 200 and the Christian theologians who came up with the idea of having a New Testament was condemned as heretic.
The issue is irrelevant.
The Gospels come from a time in which the religion was being spread.
Christianity was spread by the word.
The Patristic fathers wrote at the time Christianity was being insitutionalized.
Though these people are not Jesus, we acknowledge that they were inspired by God.
We also believe that certain pagan philosophers and wise men were also inspired by God.
How can Christians rely on the accounts in these Gospels which are the basic Pillars of their Faith?
First of all, unlike Islam, there are no pillars of the Christian faith.
There are cornerstones.
And part of one of them is belief in the content written in the Gospels.
They are quite consistent in their description of Jesus, life, his preaching, his interactions with people, his death, resurrection.
In spite of their coming from a primarily oral culture, much was kept in memory, as it is in other oral cultures around the world and in ancient history.
How can Christians believe what they do?
This is a matter of faith. Not a matter of reason.
Christians need not justify anything to you or anyone else.
A Christian is just as entitled to his integrity as a Muslim.
