Trump is having his outrageous words and conduct unfairly assessed, because your example free straw man of some Democrat once saying something equally nuts and dangerous, got a pass?
How unfair to Trump and his televised questions about injection of disinfectant to fight Coronavirus.
Are you kidding? Let me put the apology where it belongs.
I am sorry for you. You didn’t say the outlandish from the bully pulpit. Trump did. And now you are angry at Democrats that once again you must defend the immaculate outrageous.
I get disapointment.

People who inject bleach are stupid, yes. I don’t care if they read it in the magna carta. That doesn’t mean Trump should not stay laser focused in briefings, but the responsibility for those who eat fish tank cleaner lies with them alone.

It is an apt descriptor, from what I have seen. You disagree. Shocking.

Why stupid people? Do you mean stupid because:
They listened to Trump
And thought him in some way credible.
Sorry, that is outrageous with a President in a conference with doctors about medicine. You are almost assured to inspire poisoning of self doing that WHEN YOU ARE PRESIDENT. It was Wreckless!
Let’s let bring the forum members into this. This was a conversation about a few people who might misinterpret what was said and not question it.

I dont think he has any cleaning or basic household knowledge. There is a chorum of people out there who really have no idea how dangerous these products are. Marketing at its best. MSDS sheets are not common in the cleaner aisle in the store.

Are people that stupid? I watched the dialogue and until the press brought it up never would have even thought about the comment.

Your defense of Trump describing injecting disinfectant to cure Coronavirus from the bully pulpit is to call me a hater for considering it outrageous.
Is that reasonable?

Instead of typing 6 posts for every 1 of another normal poster, try reading them. I didn’t defend what he said, and actually said it should be avoided.

I am just not as neurotic about these things as some people apparently are. Relax. You already admitted this whole shutdown has zero financial impact on you, so your life could be a lot worse like many of your fellow Americans.

We need to call out an error when it is made, regardless of by whom, and be able to say I was wrong. Not dismiss it or then put the blame or fault for potential damage on others.

That is human nature and first happened way back in Genesis 3.

Adam blamed God, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent.

God saw through the characteristic of human nature to deflect, though, and still turfed them out of the garden in Eden.

I did immediately question Trumps statement, having worked with extremely corrosive chemicals and the dry chemical we call bleach when nicely packed for consumers.

The poker face of that woman was priceless.

You never would have thought about bringing it up?
The fact that you are trying to sell that as a reasonable response to THIS presidential speech on national TV is odd to some of us. There frankly is no place in fiction or non fiction to discuss injection of disinfectant in a speech with world renowned doctors and experts Have you considered that?

Not sure what this has to do with one side being completely biased against the President, and one side being biased towards him.

Are you saying we are obligated to only call out the bad, and ignore the good? If not, show me the good that you have called out about the man on this site? Perhaps you have, and that’s great.

ok so did you read the MsDS for the bleach when you used it, what safety precautions did you take? Did you even know you should take safety precautions or use bleach at certain dilutions? Did you inhale the fumes and realise that could damage your lungs. Did you wear chemical resistant gloves, eye protection, foot protection?

If not, you did not use bleach correctly and many would not know that either. They are not stupid people. They just dont realise how corrosive bleach is. Its damage is irreversible.

The dry chemical that is marketed as bleach ill start burning through your skin and just keep going.
The medical did a lengthy discussion about their findings on how bleach was effective in killing the virus. They talked about nonporous materials such as table tops and counters. They talked about porous materials and their finding on porous material. They talked about skin and that skin may not be as effective but more studies needed to be done. This was all done a long time before Trump made his comments.

Then they talked about alcohol. They later talked about the effect of heat and cold on the virus.

He actually made the comment after talking about heat and climate and cold and climate.

If you point out that he is discussing injecting disinfectants with doctors on LIVE TV, do I now have to scurry to find a good story?

I have repeated said that I saw no needs for the comments from Trump. There was a whole medical team of experts on stage.

That said, you cannot take a three minute video and spew what was supposedly said in an 1-2 hour press conference.

Don’t listen to him he is a hater.
Talk about a ( I won’t say Hail Mary except in reference to a football play).
Not why people are wrong.
They are unworthy to have any opinion

It would require a spinning around many times to make sense of Trump’s remark. And no, he was NOT being sarcastic if one looks at the video. The man is apparently rather stupid as well as boorish. GWB move aside. But I’m sure that a sizeable number of his supporters would back him up on this: he means well, after all. And some might even agree with him that disinfectant is the way to go.

Why would you infuse an entire press conference into a statement about curing the virus potentially with an injection of disinfectant?
They have a saying. Putting lipstick on a pig. Dressed up, it’s still a pig.
And here is the problem. This is a pandemic. Not a political debate of point counterpoint. It is confidence jarring

I wouldn’t. Trump did not either. I actually listened to the whole thing because I want to know what is going on in NE. As I said I listen to Governor Cuomo daily to see how NY is doing. I learned from Cuomo that the virus was brought into NY from Europe by 13,000 airflights to Kennedy International Airport (JFK) LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Newark International Airport (EWR)

And I would not take all that was said and put into a three minute sound bit. A lot of good information came out on this virus and its transmission such as it does not do well in direct sunlght. It does better in moist than in dry conditions.
