Misrepresentation of facts to fit a prejudicial narrative.
Actually the name change was a trademark issue:
Yes, the Church has to give permission to use the word “Catholic” in the way that he was using it. Why do you think his Archdiocese did not give him the permission to use term “Catholic”? No need to guess, its because of the many radical, un-Catholic and hateful things that he has repeatedly put forth as part of his supposedly Catholic mission. Which is the same reason he has been banned from speaking in several dioceses.

Any Catholic that looks at his materials (or pays him money for them) has a right to know those things. I bring it up here because Voris and his supporters have a habit of failing to mention his actual standing with the Church when the pitch his wares.

Hard for some to tolerate Voris’ criticism of the celebration of homosexuality by some in the Catholic Church, I’m sure.

I think his denial of so many of the Church’s teachings, combined with his attacks on the current Pope, the last Pope, democracy, Jews, KoC, most (maybe all) of the bishops, and attacks on pretty much most of the Church and much of what the Church stands for are also hard for some to swallow.

And how does any of that impact the incessant promotion of all things homosexual by Fr. James Martin SJ?

It doesn’t. As I said, when posters put forth Voris as a voice on Catholic issues, or promote things that Voris is promoting, others here deserve to know exactly who Voris is and his standing with the Church. I have pointed that out. You are the one dragging out that conversation, although I note that you are not denying anything that I said about Voris.

Haven’t read that much from him honestly. Mainly what he has to say about homosexualists in the Church. And I really don’t need him to inform me about Fr. James Martin SJ’s activity.
Voris may be in error on some things, but he speak the truth about homosexualists. Fr. James Martin SJ may speak truth about some Catholic matters, but he is promoting false doctrine about homosexuality. Including in “America” magazine.

My guess is Fr.Martin struggles with SSA and his agenda is to normalize it within the Catholic Church.I don’t understand why he hadn’t been reigned in re his outspokenness on homosexuality as it pertains to Church teachings.

Jeanne_S, I’d bet money on that attraction. And no question in my mind about the agenda.
I’d actually respect him a little more if he just came out. But wouldn’t that impact his effort to appear objective?

I agree. However, attraction aside I find it concerning the agenda he is pushing

At this point, it seems like tacit approval. As loud as he is, they can’t be unaware.

What about the problem of this being gossip? These are people who own websites, making money off hits, posting back and forth arguments from priest people like to follow or hate.

One does not have to deny that Fr. Kalchik wrote that article to decline to accept it. He is not the pope, after all. The whole ending about being from Fr. Paul John, in hiding from homosexuals who hate him was fishy.

Thank you very much for the answer. I won’t chase this, but I do appreciate the response.

This whole thread has made me rather uncomfortable. I disagree with much of what Fr. Martin says and does, but still feel compelled to say something when I see injustice (as I see it) done against him.

Check his FB page. Every other day or so. See what his followers have to say, too.

I don’t want to feed it. I did check it two or three times in the last week. I found what he said a mixed bag, nothing too bad. Now the replies he got were totally off the rails. And in keeping with your sentiment, I found the lack of correction… unfortunate.
