There has not been a recovery. Day after Obama’s DNC speech the August jobs report will be released, and made clear again lack of jobs. ObamaTax intrudes on religious liberty of millions which is why dozens of lawsuits, including many from Catholic institutions and archdioceses have been pursuedNumerous sources report that Obama got some 54% of the Catholic vote in the 2008 election. The last poll I saw (May 2012) indicated that Obama was supported by about 50% of Catholic voters:

I realize that was three months ago, so I’d welcome more recent poll numbers, although I’m not sure whether polling will track will with the actual vote. We’ll all see.
As for the Democratic National Convention, I would expect that the major talking points would include:
Those would be my top three.
- Our nation’s recovery after the greatest world-wide financial disaster since the Great Depression;
- The end of the war in Iraq and withdrawal of our forces from Afghanistan. These wars cost us more than 6,500 American lives and more than 96,000 wounded. In 2008, we had as many as 187,900 troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have already spent between $2.4 and 2.7 trillion, and by the end of these wars, it is estimated that we will have spent $3.7 trillion.
- Passage of the Affordable Care Act, which ensured that tens of millions more Americans will have health insurance and ended a number of abuses by insurance companies.
