That story is untold for a reason; because its not true. Over 80% of subprime loans were issued by financial institutions which did not fall under the jurisdiction of the CRA. And why are people trying blame President Clinton for the spending habits of private citizens? Suddenly Bill Clinton is responsible for your credit card debt? Sorry, doesn’t work that way. No President is responsible for the financial irresponsibility of private citizens. He didn’t sow the seeds of economic recession.

Well, ~1/2 of their radical fringe booed God and Jerusalem today, but I guess they haven’t completely taken over because the chair ruled that they were less than 1/3.

No one booed God. A word in a political platform is not God. Surely rLg you don’t believe it is. I can’t believe the fuss that was created over a word not being in a platform. There was a whole section about faith and the importance of faith even before the candidate insisted the platform better reflect his own belief in God and view in regard to Jerusalem. And a vast number of other Democrats at the convention have spoken of God. At least the Democratic candidate did something about some words in the platform to better reflect his beliefs and view. President Obama believes in God. Is a Christian. Attends church. Has received communion when he’s attended. As far as the chair, I heard at the Republican convention the same thing was done with regard to a rule change. End of story.

i am watching clinton speak right now. he is going on way too long. i am tired of seeing him wag that long finger of his. the same finger he wagged when he assured us “i did not have sexual relations with monica lewinsky”… this party is for women’s rights and bill clinton is the keynote speaker! that is funny.
i think his speech is terrible. he is talking way over the heads of the people in the audience. he talks too fast and most probably don’t have a clue what he is saying.
listening to him doesn’t convince me i should vote for obama.

Uh huh…who was fussing? The ~50% who voted “no” to adding God and Jerusalem back into the platform? The Democrats who booed when the chair ruled (well, in fairness, his TelePrompTer did…he just took a few minutes to cave in to it’s demands) that the ayes were a 2/3 majority? There was a lot of fussing. Of course, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and your buddy David Gergen lied and said there was no descent…

I know you would like to spin the events differently like they did, but it was pretty obvious to the rest of the people watching.

So does the Republican Party, which I think is undergoing a paradigmatic shift. Sort of like growing pains. Romney is the ideal candidate at this time since he is at once an establishment moderate and a “severe” conservative.

Its hardly a paradox. Controlling the party doesn’t translate into controlling the entire Republican electorate which determines who the nominee will be.

I do not like to accuse people of lying, but the things being said at the DNC are outrageous. These are politcians and Sandra Fluke studied law. Are they purposely lying or do they really believe what they are saying? Because many of their claims can be fact checked and they are not true

Politics has ALWAYS been a blood sport. It isn’t any different today than in the past. The country is more evenly split, but that doesn’t mean people are any more or less vehement in their views.

I’m not sure it isn’t any different. Reportedly Republicans on the night of the Inauguration balls were in another location in DC plotting their opposition to Obama. We’ve seen the Senate Republican leader state their main goal was not to try to help the economy or anything else but to make certain Barack Obama was a 1 term President. An odd main goal when recession and other problems faced the country. Both incidents pretty much excluded the willingness for and possibilty of any real compromise on the part of Republicans to work with the President. Then came along the Tea Party in the midterm and their idea of compromise seems to be for everyone to come their way.

And I’ve been observing politics for decades and never before heard a congressman shout “you lie!” at the President of the United States during a SOTU address.

The RNC never went as low as this. DNC is a trash republican fest. It is awful. Bill Clinton said medicare will go bakrupt in 2016 under Ryan’s plan. Where is he getting this? He must know this is not true

That is not true, it is Obama that is takien $716 billion out of medicare. Clinton is scaremongering to the extreme. Similar to what Obama said in 2011 that ‘poor children,’ ‘children with autism’ and ‘kids with disabilities’ would be left ‘to fend for themselves’
