I remember when Joe Biden was named to the VP slot. My immediate reaction was "Oh a life insurance policy! No one would do ANYTHING that would put that walking example of Foot in Mouth Disease in the Oval Office.

I agree, Obama would never be impeached and frankly I don’t know the point of impeaching Clinton. My hope is that eventually even Democrats will see Obama as the corrupt and incompent stuffed shirt that he is and just ignore him. We’ve had four years without a leader in the White House. We can survive another four.
Since the Democrat party has been completely overtaken by the radical left, Obama can do no wrong as far as they are concerned as long as he continues to lead the anti-population crusade. 🙂

=oldcelt;10711005]Though I am not a classic liberal by any stretch of the imagination I
I know, that’s one reason why this country is in trouble.
will answer your entirely ridiculous assertions (race, age, skin color) as
Those aren’t ridiculous. Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and probably even Truman and FDR would not have been spared this by today’s media. 😦

The reasons are so obvious. Who do they think they’re kidding?

There weren’t any Greek columns for Mitt Romney or Jon McCain.

That’s the difference between conservatives and classical liberals as compared to post-modern liberals.

And really, oldcelt, the left is quite transparent as to why they re-elected Obama, aside from the fact that the government sends out checks in the mail.

They don’t have to say it point-blank to have us figure it out.
I have answered all threads related to Benghazi…there have been so many scenarios put forward by those looking to make political capital from the deaths of four Americans that
By “those”, I really hope there are not any TEA PARTY or conservative folks.

We’ve sat through Trayvon, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Boston and Texas and watch your side of the aisle race to exploit all of those.

I don’t suppose the Benghazi victims family have gotten a free flight on Air Force One?
I also predict as I have all along…this will end up being just another in a long line of deaths in our diplomatic corps. Tragic for the families, but hardly unprecedented and not likely to cause anyone in the higher ranks to lose their job, or a single vote that they had a chance at to begin with.
Probably. I’d be surprised if the media didn’t give this some level of Gosnell treatment.

Even with Watergate and the Clinton affair, no one got killed, but the media was all over those two.

Not so much when Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are at the forefront.

Race and gender already play a role.

So far as Ms. Clinton being the front-runner at this time…that is a fact,
Ohhhh, so now you believe the polls and accept them as FACT?
From an experience standpoint, she would be one of the most qualified candidates ever to run and
Experienced in a lot of bad ways. Voted for and publicly defended the Iraq War before turning against it, and Bosnia and Benghazi sure say a lot.
the GOP knows that they would have very little chance against her.
Incorrect. Elections without incumbents tend to be close, and the democrats should be worried about how Chris Christie runs against her in NY and NJ. Simply put, the democrats can’t lose both.

Also, “Clinton’s approval rating will decline if she runs,” as Nate Silver notes. I don’t think that Joe Biden or Martin O’Malley are just going to hand her the primary, either, and if she runs against Christie, Rubio or Rand Paul, they can talk about everything from Benghazi to Bosnia to Iraq.

So, what appears to be an easy win could turn out to be a dogfight for a 69-year-old woman amidst what will probably massive voter sickness over the DNC by 2016.
After all…that’s what much of this is really about…isn’t it?
What a laugh, especially after your side of the aisle has exploited every major tragedy in the last 18 months.

And are you going to tell me you want someone who will tell our special OPS to sit on their hands while al quedia kills a US ambassador?

So much for “Obama got Osama”.

Agree with that. Clinton is “admired” for all of her “accomplishments” which seem to reside mostly in the overly creative imaginations of aging feminists. I truly do not think she has had a distinguished career. Unlike Sarah Palin whom she demeans, Hillary’s political career was based on riding her husband’s coattails. Her tenure as First Lady was shaky and her carpetbagger Senate campaign was based on name familiarity and admiration for Bill.

I think she’s been an abysmal SoS. Do not know why anyone thinks she had any big successes. With Benghazi being her swan song, she didn’t exactly go out with a bang…geez no pun intended.

I hope oldcelt responds to your post. I have made that statement multiple times and his response is to conflate an emergency to aid and rescue with a full scale invasion. These events occur and need a rapid response, not a debate.

To me there seems to be no reason not to respond and at least try. When I saw the timeline and the hours and hours between the first and second attacks, clearly there was time to send aid, even a flyover that might scatter the attackers.

Our miitary has a code of never leaving a brother behind. They had to be told to stand down or they would have responded.

Really? Even a little island adventure like Grenada isn’t pulled off in a couple days.
I didn’t say that. It was an ace-in-the-hole he was holding, probably inspired by the British Falkland Islands war the year before (with the awesome boost it gave Thatcher’s poll numbers)—held back for a rainy day like Beirut.

I see where liberals are now off the Blame Bush bandwagon, and on to the Blame Reagan one.

In the meantime, what happened Benghazi is being shunted out of the thread, as peer usual.

When it is all about winning elections, everything else becomes secondary for Obama, Clinton and the Democrats.

True enough…heavens much as I loved President Reagan it was how many years ago? Reminds me of advice to lawyers when they know they have a losing case;

If the facts are against you, argue the law.
If the law is against you, argue the facts
If they are both against you, pound on the table!

Obviously the cover up, the delays, the spin machine in full race mode, were all designed to prevent Benghazi from becoming an issue in the campaign. Thanks also to Candy Crowley and frankly Romney’s lukewarm reaction, they succeeded. Of course the hope was that they could draw it out until Hillary left but when forced to testify she reacted as above.

Her inane remarks and table pounding were so predictable. She had neither facts nor law nor excuses. What else could she do?

No need…I’ve said everything I have to say…and responding to the same things multiple times seems like an incredible waste of time. My posts are there for all too see…some will agree…some not.

That was Hillary’s bright shining moment for all to see. Of course liberals see her pounding the table saying “what does it matter!” and say "she’d make a great president! ". The fact is, she’s a tired, old, out of date liberal. I think she’d be very, very vulnerable in 2016 and the voters (atleast the ones not on the federal dole) would have Democrat fatigue after 8 years of Obama. All the Republicans have to do is show clips of the aftermath of Benghazi, clips of it being confirmed as a terrorist attack next to clips of Hillary bellowing “what does it matter” and “We’ll find the guy who made the video” ( to a victims mother, I believe). The Obama Democrats never met a tragedy they didn’t exploit for maximum political gain. But this one has come back to bite them. I suspect that some on this forum know deep down how despicable this administration is but don’t want to admit it for some reason.

Apparently the Democrats are not only despicable - they are also racists: The chairman of the Democrat party of South Carolina Dick Harpootlian - recently said he wanted to “send Nikki Haley back to wherever the hell she came from” in a thinly veiled racist attack. If it were a Republican he would be out of a job now. And some say the media isn’t biased. Dick Harpootlian also called Nikki Haley the “Eva Braun” of South Carolina. If you are a minority woman - don’t be a conservative, or liberals (the open-minded folks) will attack you viciously. Now, in light of all this, how do you Democrat catholics continue to justify your identification with the Democrat party?

Official: We knew Benghazi was a terrorist attack “from the get-go”

Consider the Obama admin sent out Susan Rice, and Obama himself and Hillary Clinton said the attack was related to the anti Islam video.
Hillary and Obama are every bit as guilty of negligence and deceit as Susan Rice. All three are a disgrace, and unfit to inhabit any office, ever. What a tragedy. Bush was bad enough, but this guy Obama is a pathetic joke. I still can’t believe that a single American was conned by this angry radical. :ouch: Rob

Lisa, you rock, Girl. You are so right on! Your post made my day, or night as the case may be. Thanks, Rob 😛

Yes, the Obama presidency has been a big huge con. And people continue to be conned: look how many on these forum continue to defend him and search for ways to justify voting for him. This is worse than anything Nixon ever did.

A wonder if a lot people still think that Bush is president since I still sometimes hear him getting blamed for the bad economy. 🙂

So I just heard some of this Benghazi stuff on the radio yesterday. But tuned in at the end of the program. Can somebody tell me what exactly this is about?

If your post is sincere, that is quite frightening since this has been an issue since 9/11/13 when it occurred. Do you keep up with any of the news? Even the alphabet soup channels actually reported the event and hosted Susan Rice on all of the Sunday talk shows with the Obama administration’s explanation of its cause.

I’m thinking this is tongue in cheek and you are commenting on how much effort was made by the Obama controlled Spin Machine aka the mainstream media to avoid confronting what occurred 😃

Let me rephrase. I only noticed this whole “cover up” issue yesterday. I didn’t mean to say that I was unaware of the embassy attack. So I am a bit unclear on the cover up story going on.

Note: I prefer to reserve judgement on this kind of thing until I have all the facts straight.

It’s not surprising that a lot of people wouldn’t know about the cover up since it was covered up by the mainstream media the ensure that it wouldn’t hurt Obama’s chances for reelection. The “fiscal cliff” is another thing that the mainstream media waited until after the elections to report on. As was Obama’s plans to lay off a bunch of government contractors. All of these things were hidden by the mainstream media until after the election. The mainstream media had an interview with Obama that would have proved that Candy Crawley was wrong for correcting Romney during the debates. And this too was kept hidden by the mainstream media until after the elections, etc. 🙂

Ah okay. So the claim is that there was a huge cover up about the attack so as to not hurt the presidents chances at re-election. Got it.

Then you must never actually make a decision since “all the facts” are beastly difficult to find. However there is a huge amount of information on the Benghazi coverup. You can access the usual suspects, right and left and there should be sufficient information to make a decision. I believe this thread has a number of links and reports of testimony as well.

Short form, those with direct knowledge reported the attack as planned and carried out by Islamist elements, one with links to Al Qaeda. The original “talking points” indicated such. Copies of the various versions of these talking points have been published. There is an extensive article in the Weekly Standard

weeklystandard.com/articles/benghazi-talking-points_720543.html

This mostly deals with the subject of the thread. The other coverups included what Ambassador Stevens was doing in Benghazi, what the 30 some personnel were doing there, why the requests for aid before and during the attack were not honored, why haven’t the survivors been interviewed, why is the video maker still in jail; it is a target rich environment.

Happy reading!
