The problem is the “fog” may not have existed. If it was reported to State that this was a terrorist attack and they needed to help and the she said we can’t report this and fabricated the YouTube story there’s not much “fog” is there - except what she created.

Her problem is she is not a very good lawyer. Just as she was caught lying in the 1990s she’s been caught again. The other issue she has is that she never learned the basics of how the State Dept works.

If she ran for President, the thing is is, if she has competitors, maybe Vice President Joe Biden, they would be asking her about this.

I agree, but her answers to Congress were none the less evasive. She never told Congress that it was a YouTube video. So it may not be a crime. She lied to the American people and to the mother, Pat Smith, of one of the dead, Sean Smith. That’s not a crime. :o

Hmm…interesting…I’ll wager IF she runs, there will be no competitors.

I hope the GOP candidate hammers this in debates.

The criminal offense of “contempt of Congress” sets the penalty at not less than one month nor more than twelve months in jail and a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000.

Even if not sworn in.

Perjury and lying to Congress are two different crimes. Perjury, defined under 18 U.S.C. § 1621, requires violation of an oath. The crime of making a false statement to Congress, defined under 18 U.S.C. § 1001, covers lying about or concealing a “a material fact” in “any investigation or review, conducted pursuant to the authority of any committee, subcommittee, commission or office of the Congress, consistent with applicable rules of the House or Senate.”

Wow, did not know that. She kept up the ruse she didn’t know of requests for more security, didn’t know about the threats, didn’t know about the Islamist ties…

But if not under oath, then not a crime. Still, the American public doesn’t like being lied to and probably doesn’t split the hairs of sworn in or not. I hope the public will finally understand what a dishonest person she is and has been from the beginning. You may know she was part of the original Watergate hearings and was said by her supervisor to be lazy and dishonest, deciding that the ends justified the means.

Isn’t if funny, she readily admitted to being incompetent (I know NOTHING NOTHING…Sgt Schultz) which wouldn’t derail her presidential hopes. Really a sad statement on our country.

Right, I know I have heard of “lying in congress”, there is a distinction versus “perjury”, being sworn in first.

“Lying to congress”, I know I have heard those words plenty of times in the past, I guess it is just not officially perjury but may still be a crime. When I websearch for that term, “contempt of congress” also comes up.

Yes, as time goes on I realize what a poor campaign Romney ran. I think he would have been a great President but as a campaigner was run over by the Obama/DNC machine.

There IS a commercial that has Hillary saying she knew nothing, juxtaposed by proof that she did. Put out by Rove’s group. Hope it makes an impact.

Do you really watch and believe commercials? I watch everything on my Uverse Hard Drive, ff through commercials. I don’t believe commercials are effective.

The GOP candidate must be tough and stop playing nice.

Are you telling us Hillary Clinton is not going to run for President in 2016? Because that would be a big scoop.

Or, I just take it, you mean she has retired from Secretary of State which in case, most of us would know this respectfully.
