It was pathetic to watch the Sunday morning talk shows with various Republicans practically frothing at the mouth over this. Where was their outrage when George W Bush virtually made up so-called “intelligence” to go to war in Iraq - a war that has resulted in tragic loss of USA blood and treasure? And these same Republicans are now beating the war drums to take action in Syria. Their moral compass is so strained - for them “partisanship” is “north”. The notion that these people are “public servants” is laughable and absurd.

Can you provide information this was fabricated? Are you accusing Bush of lying? If so, let’s see some back up. WMDs were found in Iraq, it is covered in one of these threads, this again.

29 Senate Democrats authorized the invasion of Iraq, 21 voted against it.

Obama and the Democrats have America wrapped up and delivered. The Benghazi scandal will not affect their vote in 2016.
Benghazi scandal has damaged any future political ambitions Hillary Clinton has. If she does run in 2016 the Benghazi scandal is going to be used against her by democrat opponents in 2016 and by whoever the republican opponent is.

If that is your logic, Nixon was forced out of office by something that is a picnic compared to Benghazi.

Okay, I’ll bite. You mean the same intelligence that prompted Bill Clinton to proclaim in a TV address in 1998 that Saddham had weapons of mass destruction and “make no mistake, he will use them” That intelligence?

Mulligan, you have no evidence that Bush knew that intelligence was bad and that he willingly lyed about it. On the other hand, team Obama RE-WROTE the memos/talking points to deliberately hide the truth for political reasons. There is no comparison here.

But nice try.

Let’s just say that W “misspoke,” just as Reagan, Bill and Hillary, Papa Bush, Nixon, and Johnson all had occasion to misspeak at critical junctures.

Disagree. This has damaged Hillary Clinton and the Benghazi scandal will be used against her by democrat opponents in 2016 and by whoever the republican opponent is.
But will anyone be listening? Will the masses take their eyes off “keeping up with the Kardashians” and " Dancing with the Stars" long enough to care? I admire your optimism, but I fear our country has reached the point where enough people are takers or die hard Democrats or both.

Keeper of a post. Great.

You have to admit that in the case with team Obama - they blatantly covered up the truth in order to protect his re-election. Yes, all presidents “misspeak” but this takes it to a whole different level of deception. At the very least, this Watergate x 10. But where are today’s Bernstein and Woodward?

Hillarious…the usual suspects. If a Democrat is caught with 100000 in his freezer or bribing officials or changing talking points, we start to refight the Iraq War.

Lying means knowingly stating something that is not true. It does not mean using faulty intelligence that was compelling enough to get bi partisan support as well as a large coalition of other countries getting involved.

Do you have any actual information or informed opinion or do you want to continue to pontificate and obfuscate hoping we won’t notice yet another in a long list of lies by Obama and his administration?

Well, here we are on this topic still, I read the wiki article on Vice President Biden last night, it does seem he really did build his career from humble beginnings.

I don’t agree with the Democrat platform but Obama and Hillary really do Champion it, while Joe is just Joe. That platform is no more tolerable under Biden but he doesn’t seem so extreme, he’s an opportunist too, I don’t see how Hillary Clinton could overcome a Biden candidacy unless somehow there is an agreement behind doors on all this between the two. It would seem such a campaign though could hurt HC even if she were to win it.

Joe himself, to me, seems to be a nice guy, couldn’t disagree with him more. To me, he’s clearly the lesser of here though it seems he tried to torpedo the nomination of Robert Bork to the SCOTUS too.

The Benghazi scandal is too damaging for Hillary Clinton to come out unscathed.

I can imagine very emotional Ads being used in 2016 against Hillary Clinton being used to show the implications of Hillary Clinton’s role as secretary of state and national security if she were president.

It looks like Biden has aspirations and this would have to come up. Biden and Hillary are probably somewhat similar ages. I see Joe Biden as being like Bill Clinton in a way, their policies may be misguided but I don’t really see them as being sinister. I admit, I could be wrong. Not that I’d be voting for what he would stand for.

I’ll admit it: Obama was protecting his re-election chances. But Johnson’s misstatements about our success in the Vietnam War: what a terrible tragedy that was, all for a noble cause, of course, just like the Bush escapade in Iraq. Give me a break! And Reagan’s Iran Contra scandal: patriotism, freedom fighters, as another poster suggested? I’m quite doubtful. Nixon and Watergate “simply” undermined the whole democratic process and confirmed for the public their already mounting distrust and disgust for politicians and government, which LBJ had initiated. Not a big deal? Au contraire. I lived through it all.

For me, his performance during the debate dispelled that idea. He plays dirty - race baits in campaign speeches. He combines two the worst traits in politics: doctrinaire liberalism and crass opportunism and seemingly no restraint. Kind of like a Bill Clinton without the charm (or the sense to make occasional deals with the opposition). You bring up the Bork nomination - and I remember it well and Biden’s shameful performance during the hearings.

Never said they weren’t a big deal. And LBJ et al were being told by the guys in the field in Vietnam that “we see the light at the end of the tunnel” etc. etc. Of course they were all too willing to believe the good news. It was a terrible tragedy - but it was a noble cause, one which the Democrats in 1973-74 ensured that there would be no possible way to salvage any kind of victory or protection for S. Vietnam. Bush “escapade” in Iraq, Iran-Contra are fundamentally different from the Benghazi scandal in that Obama systematically lied to the American people for weeks about the truth, altered documents, etc. in order to protect his re-election. Talk about undermining the democratic process! Of course, wouldn’t you agree that the difference between Benghazi-gate and all the other previous “gates” is that the press now no longer does its job? No Woodward or Bernstein - except in the conservative blogs, etc. Instead the press cooperates with the team Obama’s lies.
