I continue the novena and at times feel that my marriage is hopeless. We don’t discuss the issues, but ignore them due to my dh’s anger or lack of understanding of it. Please continue to pray for my marriage. I hope we can work things out. I would never get a divorce, but I would love my prayer for a happy and holy marriage answered some day. I want our family to like the Holy Family.
Have you ever given Retrouvaille a thought or a chance? It could save your marriage!

Nana, you have always replied to my posts and always given me a kind word when I have needed it. I will pray for you and your marriage. You are a very faith filled woman with a generous heart. God does not promise us happiness on this earth, but I know we long for it. Your husband seems to want to have a good marriage, (like my husband does as well) but does not have the skills or the family upbringing to deal with conflict well. He is so blessed to have such a loving and devoted wife as you. God will surely bless you. I think if we do continuous novenas, then some good will have to come of it. Maybe you will become a saint!
In whatever situation we are in, no matter how hard, we need God’s peace and I pray that you find that in your life. If we have His peace amid the storms, then it does not matter what we go through. I pray God turns your marriage around, and all these marriages on this thread, for the better.
God bless you!

If lady is the worst thing I’m ever called I’ll consider myself lucky;)

Since the novena started I’ve been having an extra hard time. Almost no sleep last two nights. But this morning I think I have finally understood that my “letting go” or “giving it to God” is the only thing that is going to heal us. I’ve been carrying this around for well over a year now and the weight just increased daily. I’m not strong enough, He has to take it away from me.

Dear Lord, help me carry my cross, let me lean on You, ease this burden.
Praying for you, I hope your sadness is turned into joy! Lets not give up until that happens.
God bless you

Day 6. How is everyone going?
Praying away!

I just had a crazy experience…I was praying the novena for today and realised that, since I prayed this same novena a whole year ago, I have seen some improvement in every one of the areas it mentions. I’m sure God can use our prayers to help all of us!

I just want to try to encourage you all not to give up hope. My marriage was so bad ~7 years ago that the marriage counselors we saw told us we shouldn’t be together. After seven years of praying daily, this is like a different marriage. Just this past summer, my husband and I just started saying “I love you” again to each other for the first time in all those years. I didn’t think I would ever be able to say those words again, but here we are. 🙂 You are all in my prayers.

Day 4 only on this Novena and I feel better, my situation has not improved at all but I am becoming closer with Christ. God is with us now more than ever when we are suffering. Through pain good can come. God Bless you all and I continue to pray for all of our families.

Praying…praying…:byzsoc:

I think this is helping not only my marriage, but it reminds me to have thoughts of Jesus and God on my heart and my lips instead of focusing on frustrating things I focus on the good.

I can see a difference. 🙂

Tracy, please please do not leave CAF and do not stop praying the novena. I know that you are hurting and all you want to do is to be happy but meeting up with another man while you are married is NOT the right thing to do. God would NEVER send you a sign like that one. The fruits of prayer would never condone unfaithfulness and no matter how bad your marriage is, you are still married.
In the eyes of God you would not be able to consider dating until you have an anullment. Your marriage needs to be worked out. This novena is to pray for your difficult marriage, not to find another relationship. I am trying to be as charitable as possible here. I know how you feel. My first husband was never really a husband. He did not behave as anything but a single man, with other women and everything. But he was my husband. I lived through hell but did not consider another man… that does not say that I am a better person than you. (so please do not take it that way).
Do you consider that you may not be able to get an anullment so you could never marry in the Church again? Applying for one does not necessarily mean you will be granted one. So this means that you are not able to date until the day the tribunal says yes or no.
Please Tracy, do not meet this man. This is adultery and will lead to nothing but unhappiness. If you do things any other way but God’s way, it will mean disaster.
From a friend in Christ, do not be deceived. This is the work of the devil to convince you that YOU deserve to be happy with a man. We are not owed happiness. All happiness comes from God, not another human being.
Please reconsider. Do not meet up with him or any other man in the future. Work your marriage out one way or another without bringing a third party into it. You will look like the ‘bad’ person which every way you look at it. You left for another man.
Tracy. This is NOT the right thing to do…

And I am saying this as you asked us what we think. We think it is wrong… it will lead to more unhappiness… I cannot stress it enough… it is WRONG

I’ve missed two days because my computer has been misbahaving:( but I will make up the two days at the end. Is that ok? Will it still work or should I say them double for two days? Or…start again?🤷

I married outside the Church many years ago and just recently came back. In regards to receiving the Eucharist, I have been since, I received the sacrament of reconciliation.
My wife is Methodist and I am a Catholic. My problem, and haven’t seen any information like mine on the forum, she will not have anything to do with the Catholic Church and its teachings. She claims the Church has brain washed me into so much guilt that I am not the same person she married. What she is saying she doesn’t know if our marriage, of 41 years, will remain.
She will probably will give me an ultimatum the Catholic Church or her. Can anyone help me with my dilemma.
She believes her church is just as important as I think the Catholic Church is the true church. She doesn’t and will not believe in confession, because she will confess directly to God, she doesn’t believe the Eucharist has the body and blood in it. I am forbidden to have any icons, books or any Catholic material in our house. Now after saying what I have said, she really is a wonderful women and I do want our marriage to stay intact. She will do anything she can for other people and our family. But when I came back to the Church she has been angry, hurt and destroyed. After all these years she is asking, why? I can truly say I had a strong pull to come back to the Church and I did, but she will not accept that explanation. She feels that it is some kind of psychological reason. I told her that I feel God has called me back to His Church and she will not believe it. I need help and prayers.

I think you can just pick up where you left off, Linnyo. 🙂
I missed a day too.

Hello All
I continue to do the Novena but my situation seems to get worse. I try to hope and pray and ask for peace within me but I am weak. I pray for peace and in prayer I am hopeful, but without it I feel hopeless and helpless. I feel like I an fighting a losing battle. My husband seems to have his mind made up that he is not going to work on our marriage. The damage is done he states and I should have appreciated him when he was here. I have asked for forgiveness and have swallowed my pride, and I continue to, in order to try to work this out. Thank you all for your prayers. May God Bless you and your families.

If she is a wonderful woman as you say she is, can you sit down and explain how important being a part of the church is to you? If she loves you, then she shouldn’t pressure you to give up something that you love so much. Will a priest talk to her? Or maybe you should talk to a priest about this.
I think it is always right to choose God over any person and it is our duty. Choose God and He will reward you immensely and PRAY like crazy for your wife.
We will be praying novenas on a constant basis for our marriages, so feel free to join in!
