Thank you. It’s appalling, how many people know so little about the founding of this country.
 
The founders of the second federal government did take steps to make the federal government non sectarian in the sense that there was not a federal state church. But at the founding of the current federal government many states had state churches and religious tests.

So your claim is limited to the federal government. And even then the notion that there was no state church isn’t the same as not being a Christian nation.

And the notion that most of the founders were Christian isn’t the same thing as this being a Christian nation.

What does explicitly dedicated to serving Christ mean here? Are you saying a state church, compulsory religious service attendance or what?

At the very least, a Christian nation would mention the name of Jesus Christ in its official documents, such as the Constitution. Many nations in the past have not been shy about this.
 
Oh, well as stated many states had state religions and religious tests for office. These were often mentioned in the constitutions. So then we could easily say large parts of the US were founded as a Christian nation.

It’s not “sad”. (Why is everything “sad” to you?) It’s the truth. Obama said both things. You know it. Everybody knows it. But you still won’t admit he did. I don’t guess you ever will. You demand unassailable evidence from everybody you don’t agree with. Then when they show it to you, you deny it anyway and call it “sad”.

Truly bizarre. Never, ever, ever, have I spoken in favor of “birtherism”. You know that, as you have seen me say I don’t buy it and never did. And using an insulting German word doesn’t make the misrepresentation a bit more impressive.

when they know they are losing an argument, birtherism or racism or Hitler will somehow become part of the conversation.

you are correct. i have never known you to
speak in favor of birtherism so dvdjs was very dishonest to use that in his/her post.
 
I think it’s ridiculous that the billboard was removed.
Equally ridiculous is the idea America is a Christian nation. The constitution doesn’t show anything of that sort and the majority of the population doesn’t either. It’s reasonable based on available data to believe at most 20-25% of Americans are actual Christians for the last decade.

they also complained about a billboard that
requested liberals to keep driving until they left Texas. so the company took down the billboard.

now these same people complaining about a billboard calling the U.S. a Christian nation and asking liberals to drive until they are out of Texas are calling
for the harrassment of Trump Admonistration officials and probably supporters at gas stations, restaurants and movie theatres.

to quote the democrats “this is not who we are”.
