He fights Isis, MS13 gang, border control, cares for his citizens, working for health care, bringing jobs back, employment is high, trillions of dollars are coming back into America, bringing jobs and corporations from other count…
Sounds to me you’re describing Obama.

The fact you missed the reference to complain about Trump tells me much of what I needed to know!

Wait wait wait you can’t compare trump to Hitler.

Give a list of what Trump has done that is Mortal Sin?
I’m not comparing Trump to Hitler. But I could! But my point is simply that anyone who “supports” an elected official simply because they were elected is flat out wrong. If you don’t believe that, just wait until the next election, when whoever the Democratic candidate is will win by a landslide. Will you support whoever is elected, even if you disagree with all their policies? Or, to put it in the past, did you “support” Obama, Clinton, Carter, etc.? They were elected too. Did the Republicans “support” Obama by opposing every single thing?

True, just because a pres is elected doesn’t mean we have to support him, that’s a personal choice according to church teaching

Im still waiting for a list of mortal sins?
If you want a list, just read the papers or listen to the news. But I’m happy to give a brief list before I go to bed.
  1. Splitting up families of illegal immigrants.
  2. Reckless regard for civilian casualties–Iraq, Syria, Yemen…
  3. Depriving children of health care. Some will get very sick. Some will die. He is the direct cause of suffering.
  4. Bragging about grabbing women by the pussies.
  5. Not paying his contractors when some of his companies went bankrupt.
  6. Supporting a “tax reform” that will take money from the poor and give it to the rich.
  7. Allowing the entire rest of the world to take on the problem of climate change without the US.
  8. Supporting racism–“good people on both sides…”
  9. Lying. Constantly. Every day.
  10. Playing a game of nuclear chicken with N. Korea
Good night. Talk among yourselves…I generally (always…) keep out of threads like these, but some of these statements were so outrageous I couldn’t help myself. Have a good time, Trump supporters. The 2018 election is just around the corner. Kiss the Senate goodbye. And 2020? Trump goes into the ashcan of history, where he’ll be remembered as a bad joke.

No mortal sins yet
Again, with the disclaimer of not knowing one’s internal state, denying worker their just wage or defrauding them in any way is most definitely a mortal sin, even with abortion and homosexuality, as one of the four sins that cry to Heaven for justice. From the Catechism.
1867 The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are “sins that cry to heaven”:
the blood of Abel,
the sin of the Sodomites,
the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt,
the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan,
injustice to the wage earner.
This is the Catholic Church’s list of “non-negotiables,” by the way.

All wrong. At least you tried.
Have a great night

You totally missed the reverend Deacon’s point. Forgiveness is called for when someone wrongs you and repents of it. In the case of political figures, we have a duty to judge their PUBLIC actions before throwing our support behind them. Trump has indeed said and done some vile things.

Try? I quoted the Catechism. Is there another source you would consider more authoritative?

Hi Erikaspirit16 it sounds like you’re watching too much mainstream media propaganda.

Here’s your non-fake news bulletin:
  1. Mueller has found nothing. There was no Russian Collusion. Hillary lost because she stank.
  2. 2018 will bring more victories for the GOP., and
  3. Trump will be re-elected in 2020.
Laugh now. Cry later. 🙂 Now go to bed and don’t forget to pray for the president! 🙂

When did this Happen?
It was promulgated in 1992 by St. John Paul. I am really having a hard time following this conversation. I think I will quit playing this game. I suspect that only about half the people here have an open mind.
