Do Catholics still support Trump

Hahaha. Well, I guess you could look at it that way.

My view is that Trump ran for two reasons:
  1. He was savaged at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner
  2. He didn’t think he would win. He did it to raise his brand awareness for his business ventures, since all he has is his name.

Careful how you construct an argument based upon tenuous premises. Aren’t you taking great leaps of logic by assuming you know for certain why he ran? I don’t think you in VA are that intimate with the mind and psyche of Donald Trump to presume you would know for certain what his motives actually were.

Your “reasons” also presume something about the character of Trump. You seem to impute to him the worst of all possible motivations. Isn’t that more of a reflection of your animus towards him than the reality of what might have motivated him?

Yes, yes, I know. You are certain…

Funny how when we can construct the world by our own lights and convince ourselves of the solidity of its workmanship we get this “feeling” of certainty and indefeasibility. Makes us feel like we are gods… or something.

Perhaps Faithfulknight was drinking from the other half of the glass, you know the half that is full rather than the half that is empty?

That would be Trump’s devotion to his family, his defense of actual immigrants rather than illegals, his support for the less well off, and his defense of national security and the interests of citizens of his country.

Funny how everything can be “spun” to take on the appearance of what we want to see if we try hard enough.

They are both very mainstream opinions on why he ran.

Are you saying they are wrong?
 
When being anti trump, are you guys trying to convince us to be part of your anti trump movement?
 
The opposite of right wing extremism (Trumpianism) is left wing extremism (antifa)… so no, that would he a horrible choice.

Just have some common sense and common decency, take off the Trump goggles, and see him for what he is: not a good example of the type of person we should want to be.
 
I am a veteran. I am patriotic.

I never in a million years thought that I would find myself not supporting a President.

Yet, here I am. Appalled at his personal values, how he conducts himself, the decisions he makes.

This isn’t just political. I am conservative.

I’ll throw this back on you. Yes, I pray daily.

How can anyone who prays daily NOT be appalled by the President and his administration?
