Do Catholics still support Trump

Who says voting third party is letting babies die? You’ve got some explaining to do on how my vote would allow babies to die. I’d say that’s entirely your opinion.

Not if you are so “intimate” with your narcissism that it prevents you from recognizing and understanding those who are NOT narcissists, like, for example, psychologically healthy people. Wouldn’t a narcissist, by that very fact, be unable to look beyond themselves to others? Perhaps if you are a rehabilitated or reformed narcissist, your claim might be true, but it seems to me that merely being in some deprived, depraved, perverted or incomplete state doesn’t, by that token, make you more insightful or therapeutically helpful.
Narcissism is just a word for self centeredness. We all have it to some degree. Some people have it to a pathological degree.
A schizophrenic isn’t necessarily “better able” to recognize and understand it in others unless s/he has moved beyond or recovered from the condition. Even then, it is no guarantee. It might be true what you say, but it may also not be true. It certainly isn’t true that “we can best recognize or understand…traits…with which we are intimately acquainted” (in the sense of being debilitated by those very traits) if those traits are debilitating to begin with.
Perhaps I did not express myself well. what I am saying is that the things that most annoy us in others are part of our own shadow - aspects of ourselves that we tend to disavow, so they really annoy us when we notice them in others.
Besides, if your analysis is true, then perhaps Trump is in the perfect position to understand the embodiment of all evil and fight against it, since, as you say, he would be better able to recognize all such evils in others and protect the country against them. Perhaps his former life was a reconnaissance journey into evil to learn it intimately in order to learn best how to fight against it?
You are right, that an introspective person in a path of spiritual and psychological growth is able to see themselves in others, and recognize it. The problem in this case is that he seems to believe he has "arrived’ and does not need any spiritual or psychological growth. He does not admit when he is in the wrong (perhaps because he believes he never is?)

I don’t see any evidence of a “former life”. What we are seeing now is just a continuation of what has always been there. It is just more public, so more in the news.
Clearly, Trump is acquainted with every possible evil and so he is in the perfect position to recognize and root it out.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit to lead each person to confront their own sins and cleanse us of them. But confronting and rooting it out requires the humility to accept one’s shortcomings and be open to correction from God.

I don’t think you in VA are that intimate with the mind and psyche of Donald Trump to presume you would know for certain what his motives actually were.
Well, we can go on what he said. He wanted to be greedy for America, and make America great again. He wanted to build a wall, he wanted to cut taxes on the wealthy.
When being anti trump, are you guys trying to convince us to be part of your anti trump movement?
I am confused why observing problems with a persons behavior makes one “anti”. I am not part of any “movement”. I have a problem with public leaders who behave badly, whether it is Clinton (s), Pelosi, Trump, or whoever.
St. Paul also says “be angry but don’t let the sun come down on you”
I am not angry toward him. Appalled, disppointed, embarrassed, sometimes afraid, but not angry. I am actually more concerned about the attitudes of the majority that put him in office - the racism.
So what’s your solution?
Honestly I don’t see that there is one. He is president, and precluding his untimely death or impeachment, will continue to be so for at least another four years. I think the best I can do is fast and pray. As a nation, we are paying the price for our sins.

Since this abortion rate went down under Obama, would you accept someone saying that voting Republicans is saying “I’ll let babies die?” Perhaps you should exercise the Golden Rule and not put evil words in the mouths of others, if you would not want evil words put in your mouth.

Repeating your opinion does not make it more true, or apply to anyone but you. In fact, it is uncharitable to slander people like you did.

The 3rd party is basically opting out and letting babies die
…said the Catholic Church never.

We are to vote our conscience based on our opinion. We are not told to hold our opinion up as some sort of objective truth, contrary to Catholic teaching, and then judge the souls, hearts and minds of others based on our opinion. This particular falsehood keeps getting repeated.

Say Hillary would of won right. And you had a change to savec these babirs by voting for Trump but you didn’t you to the 3rd party which Ebert human being in this earth knew wouldn’t win. So basically you weaseled out on the babies.

@MamasBoy33:

Hardly. I live in Texas. It doesn’t matter if a dog is running for the Republican ticket, Texas would vote for the dog. My vote would neither contribute to nor harm the vote count for Trump. I admit, between the two, were those the only two, I would prefer Trump, but since I opposed Trump and knew Texas would pick him anyway, I voted third party, as informed my conscience formed by Catholic teaching. It’s ideas like yours that caused this election anger: this idea that there are only two choices – there are only two if that’s how people treat the election.

Fortunately, you are not the one to decide what makes a vote Catholic. I take great offense, at your slanderous accusation that I don’t care about babies. And it is that sort of generalization that makes people claim you are blind to the man you support.

Said the Catholic Church never. Rather the Catholic Church allows one to consider if if a candidate is more likely to be elected. It never says we must make that the top condition, even over moral issues. I am wondering if we could be so focused on this supposed inevitability of the two party system that we fall for utilitarianism.

If we wish to imitate Mary, is it appropriate to engage in insults and name-calling?

Trump supporters were being compared to BO supporters…

And I pointed out that we did NOT react to him the way HC supporters reacted to Trump. Which is merely a blatant now historic - and very well documented - fact.
For the most part, the vast number of Democrats and Republicans did no such thing. Didn’t go marching and commit vandalism, aren’t white supremacists, aren’t in favor of running up the deficit (no matter whose party is spending the money), aren’t trying to throw poor people out into the streets. Most want more or less the same things–everybody can get jobs, do an honest day’s work, get a reasonable amount of health care, raise their kids in safe neighborhoods with good schools and reasonable opportunities if they work for them–even if they disagree how to make those things happen.

Most people, Democrat or Republican, are pretty decent.

Rather the Catholic Church allows one to consider if
You could vote for ever you want, BUT in this past election didn’t the church say voting for Hilary was danger.
Saying weasel wasn’t an insult and you shouldn’t take it that way. Weasling i meant as you “Ran away”
Left them Hanging"

@MamasBoy33, that’s still insulting, since it implies that we didn’t do our due diligence in performing our civil duties as Catholics.

Our third party votes were still not votes for Hillary Clinton. And I just showed you a case of not voting for either without compromising pro-life policies with the candidate I voted for, or the candidate (Trump) who would win regardless.

But come on now 55 million babies murdered in the last 30 years or so.
Pierre very because he wants a Wall, or said that thing about my people " i suppose some are good"
Yeah that’s all bad, but compared to 55 million he still looks like an Angel. Lol

@MamasBoy33, Where did I say that the number of abortions are trivial?

EDIT: For some reason, I’m having trouble with replying directly to your posts, I apologize for that.

That’s still insulting? Your funny, this is the way i see it. Your getting so offended on the word weasel right? But me and those babies that were hung to dry are being slaughtered and your offended because i used the word Weasel?
Its cool to back away and let a baby die but your so mean for calling me a weasel. Lol lol lol this is insane

Im going to act immature right now with this comment.
" its ok babies are dying but don’t be so mean to me and call Weasel that is so INSULTING"

@MamasBoy33, no, you’re twisting my words. My point is very simple. A vote that didn’t go to Trump was not necessarily a vote for abortion. This is assuming, of course, that one did not vote for a pro-abortion candidate. You are accusing those of us who did not vote for Trump basically of dereliction of duty. That we don’t care about babies, that the number of innocent human lives dying is trivial. That is not only untrue, it’s slanderous to those of us who take our faith seriously and who cherish the sanctity of life. It seems to me, that to you, it doesn’t matter the reason for not voting for Trump, you would throw us all with those who voted for Clinton, regardless of our considerations regarding the sanctity of life. Even if we did vote for a candidate who opposes abortion in all forms, that to you, is the same as a vote for the pro-abortion candidate Clinton. To me, that’s crazy. The Church tells us to vote regarding issues, not people, and not specific parties. There is not a single document from the USCCB saying that a third-party vote is wasted, a vote for abortion, or that we must vote between the Republicans or Democrats. The only reason then you could say that these votes are wasted, is because it’s your opinion. And I do not tolerate such baseless accusations of neglecting my faith lightly.

A second reason could be that you just realized that you completely overlooked the possibility I presenting and are trying to save face. A third could be that you’re a troll. I’d like to believe none of those three reasons are true.

Again, your responses are doing you no favors. I wish you a good night and happy fourth Sunday of Advent.

Amen, well i guess its a train of thought that i brought up. But think about it as the days go by.
Think about it that way though as running and see if it makes sense to you

A vote that didn’t go to Trump was not necessarily a vote for abortion
No it wasn’t a vote for abortion, but it was letting a crime go by.
This is an example of a 3rd party vote
Say you didn’t like your (Trump)neighbor. And imagine you see thief(Hilary) robbing a an old lady and you could help this old lady if you call your neighbor(Trump) to help take down this theif.
Would you call for your neighbor or would you just let it go and watch the crime happen and walk away?

Would bake a cake for ba gay marriage?
You gotta be crazy to think I would Do that.
Say you you were a disciple for St. Paul and you were his right hand man. Say he was writing his 1st letter to Los Angeles( Corinthians) and he got to the 6 chapter and wrote " no homosexuals no idolaters etc… Will inherit the kingdom of God".
Would you tell St. Paul " hey i just Got a order to bake a cake for a gay marriage"
Would you tell St. Paul to help you bake it? Lol lol lol
