Do we vote for the lesser of two evils?

Hi, Pnewton,

Have you observed any media group who has not engaged in consistent and predictable bias?
Fox News started that way and kept it up for a while. US News and World Report used to be unbiased. It can be done. When it is not done, the public has to listen careful to sift the implied from the factual.

Hi, Pnewton,

So, I guess their efforts at impartiality have evaporated in the ‘political heat’? 😃

Thanks for the information.

God bless

That is why I prefer to get my US news from a non US source. They don’t have as many players in the game.

Of course, being who we are, there can always be spin…then you have to go deep in research, and understand the English Language.

I’ll back away from this because I can see that a rational discussion with you is impossible.

Please, do not hate your opponents,

John
you disagree that Frank Marshall Davis was a card-carrying member of the C.P.U.S.A.?

What sites do you recommend, Al-Jazeera? 😉

The news sources outside the US also understand very little of our nation’s history or structure, and each has its own particular bias.

If I want a slanted op-ed piece, I go look at other countries’ news websites.

We have *only *59 days to go before we are truly committed - whoever wins will either truly seal our fate into detesting life, promoting death, and advancing moral degeneration - or trying to enact laws trying to move us out of that direction.

We are faced with two incredibly clear choices:

Either to the moral morass the Democratic Party’s Platform offers: more abortions, much less God, less civility - verbally attacking Cardinal Dolan for addressing life and religious freedom, a climate of continued business uncertainty causing companies to simply not spend on exanding or innovating and an income re-distribution scheme that will make Marx proud.

And then there is the Republicans … sure they have their problems… but, I just do not see how any of them trump this horror show of evils being lead by Obama & Co.

Some posters have decried Romney’s winning of the primaries that lead up to his nomination. Some have validly pointed out that there were truly better qualified candidates. But, that is one of the aspects of reality that is sometimes difficult ot take - it really is in your face. And, now we all have to deal with it.

There have been those who claim they can take the moral high ground by not voting for anyone - sleeping through this election. I really do not think many slept through the last election. In 2008, when Obama went up against McCain almost 130 million people voted - and Obama received 10 million more votes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008. We now know what we are facing with the genuine evil being pushed by Obama - I really can not think of anything quite so inane as claiming to be doing good by doing nothing. Real evil is confronting us and those of us who see it do not have the option to merely vote ‘No’ to Obama, we need to vote ‘Yes’ for someone else. For God’s sake vote.

There have been those who claim that voting for Obama is the moral choice. Matters like increasing abortion and curbing religious liberty are not as significant as taxing the wealthy more, expanding government and expanding our national debt. For those who truly believe this - all I can say is that you are obligated to have an informed conscience and then to vote your beliefs.

Finally, despite warts, wrinkles and industrial strength political halitosis here are the Republicans who are not only championing God - but, life and religious liverty, too! In all candor, he was not my first - or even second - choice. Today, he is the only real choice I and some others have. I have made every effort to have an informed conscience and I will vote my beliefs with a vote for Romney. I would like everyone else to review this matter and to vote for life and not for death. It is really our choice - not dissimilar to the choice offered in Deut 30:14-19. Here is a link: veritasbible.com/drb/compare/haydock/Deuteronomy_30

God bless

Romney has my vote! My youngest daughter works for the Romney-Ryan campaign and I’m a financial donor. Clear choice for my family! And best of all, we are in Virginia, so our vote counts for something.

The evils promoted by the Democrat party are lightyears beyond any perceived or faux “evil” people might associate with Republicans.

How could anyone who claims to be a Christian vote for Obama?

Would Jesus vote for Obama who is all the way for abortion, gay marriage, rationing seniors to let them die, class war, divisions, socialism, a godless society, against Israel, and many more evils on his agenda?

I am voting for Romney. He is not the lesser evil, he is a great leader to vote for. He is a man whose total volunteering time added up to 27 years, who donated all his governor salary to his state, who gave a lot to charities and helped many, who knows how to create jobs and bring Americans back to work. He is pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-American dream. Romney supports Israel as America always do in our entire history up till Obama. Romney has many other good qualities as a leader. I am in NC, my vote counts too.

Is abortion, not passed by Congress but made legal by a mostly Republican-appointed Supreme Court, only a perception of evil?

Actions still speak louder than words. I say look at the data (abortion statistics under each President since Nixon) before you make your decision, that is, if abortion is your only reason for voting.

We are talking about current evil of Obama, the president in entire American history who promotes abortion as his mission. Which party appointed the supreme court judge back then is irrelevant to this election.

Please do not use the tactic of mixing and misleading in discussion.

Abortion (Obana does not want ANY exceptiions!)
Euthanasia (I read a quote that he **regretted voting to help **Terri Schindler’s family try to save her life)
Embryonic Stem Cell Resarch (Which OBAMA is forcing tax payers to pay for with OUR TAX DOLLARS…even though it has brough zero cures and ADULT Stem Cells has brought actual TREATMENTS)
Same Sex “marriage” (he decided that it should be legal/he was for it because there are same sex “couples” at his daughter’s PRIVATE SCHOOL raising children and well, his daughters influenced him or so he said)

Those are the NON NEGOTIABLES.

NOT a ONE ISSUE VOTER. A LIFE Issues voter

Hang on a minute there, ProVobis, you know better then that!

Virtually every President that has appointed someone - and those who supported that appointment - have been both surprised and mortified at the decisions made by the judge they moved heaven and earth to get into that office. In a much simplier period of our history, judges were appointed because of political leanings and knowledge of law and/or of actually being a practicing judge. It really is the President’s appointment that is being considered.

Today, we have single issue votes by the Senate with essentially the candidates position on abortion being the litmus test. If there is to be a real complaint - it is how our political leaders have debased the judicary - and not to be out-gunned in debasement - how our judges feel empowered to legislate from the bench. There is the issue to grapple with - not some misplaced idea that one person or one party actually controls a Federal Judge - especially on the Supreme Court.

You may want to try that argument again.

God bless

I say look at Obama’s entire miserable record before making your selection. The choice is easy - Romney and Ryan in 2012!

Nice try… …NOT.

The Republican Party is not responsible for what some pinhead on the Supreme Court does.

If I am a Republican president and I appoint a judge, and then once ensconced in his position the judge votes the opposdite of how I hoped he’d vote, is that my fault? No! I can’t help what somebody decides to do.

The Democrat party is openly and blatantly pro-abortion and pr-gay marrige: The Republican party is the opposit. Your feeble attempt at spinning the issue to the contrary is a failure.

If Obama and the Democrats are supposed to be so blatantly pro-abortion then where are the statistics that would surely have resulted from such a policy? The number of abortions during the Obama years has been slightly less than the number of abortions during the Bush years. It sounds like you are more interested in what people say than what actually happens to unborn babies.

You are trying to justify abortion, in any numbers, to support your presidential choice. But don’t forget, abortion is not the only non-negotiable that Obama supports. He also supports fetal stem cell research, gay marriage, and in some ways euthanasia. I would rather meet my Maker acting in a way to supports Church teaching than pretzeling my actions to support someone who goes against all the Church stands for.

Well said, mary bobo! 👍

Hi, LeafByNiggle,

I must confess, I had really taken this matter for granted - but, I was wrong. If you are honestly doubting that Obama and the Democrats are ‘supposed to be so blatantly pro-abortion’ then here are some links to bring you clearly into what we as Catholics are facing with this current President:

articles.latimes.com/2012/may/30/news/la-pn-planned-parenthood-mitt-romney-20120530

cnn.com/2012/09/05/opinion/stanley-abortion-politics/index.html

foxnews.com/opinion/2012/09/07/has-democratic-party-become-party-abortion/

washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/post/abortion-palooza-in-charlotte-did-we-mention-we-support-a-womans-right-to-choose/2012/09/06/779299da-f82d-11e1-8398-0327ab83ab91_blog.html

And, if you are still having some doubts, just Google Abortion and Obama and see what you get.

Now, your request for statistcs for aboriton numbers - yet making claims yourself without providing any statistics, struck me as curious. At least play by the rules you set for others. 🤷

And, in case you missed this: on 8/1/12 the HHS madate requiring abortion causing drugs and contraception products to be provided as part of the beginnings of ObamaCare:

nationalreview.com/articles/312809/hhs-mandate-goes-effect-editors

And, if you doubt any of this, just Google HHS mandate and religious freedom and see what you get.

As I see it, there is no reason to remain uninformed - at least as evidenced by the post I read. The Catholic Church is under serious attack. Now you can join those who are doing the attacking by voting for their pro-death / anti-religious freedom postion and the men and women running under this banner. Or, you can opposed them and their position by voting against Obama/Biden and the pro-death Democrats. But, please, be informed as to what you are supporting and opposing - because there will be a day of reckoning for each of us on how we vote this November.

God bless

Obama supports Planned Parenthood and abortion with very little, if any, restrictions. The evidence is pretty clear.
