Dear Catholic Family, littleone, masondoggy, zemi, and all those who might cry during Mass, May we all be blessed by the Holy Spirit with tongues of fire on this Pentecost Day. I am so spiritually overwhelmed by the responses of people who weep during Mass. No matter what part of the Mass that moves you to this fervant joy, Alleliua! This weekend, I went to our sat. eve. Mass at 5:30 and again on Sun. at 10:30. I can only do this once in a while, I dont walk well in the morning. But my reason for sharing is that I received 2 slightly different messages from our 2 Preists that gave those Masses.
Last evening, I concentrated on the Preist when it was the Communion Offitory. I watched his face & all his actions. His actions told just how he felt as the water & wine was changed into Christ’s Body & Blood. My tears began there, and kept slowly thru the remaining of the Mass. I always sit in the 1st or 2nd row so I can see good. We have all 3 new Preists at our parish. They are all around 55, like me. What I did different, was I prepared for Mass on my way to Chrch. I got everything else out of my head before I arrived. So I was ready to pray. In this mornings Mass, Our Pastor said Mass. In the homily,He spoke at length about the Holy Sprit. He touched on the Charismatic veiw and the gifts. I wished he would have said more about those extraordinary gifts, He cut that short, as if they dont exist! When the Offitory began, I kept my eyes on him also. I watched his mouth as if I could read lips. I watched his eyes as he looked up, I looked up too. Yes, all of this brings me to tears. But Im not crying. The tears just appear . I dont know they are there till they reach the corners of my mouth. When I watch my Preist here, I feel that I am at the Last Supper every time.I’m not embarrased anymore, now that I know they are a gift of The Holy Spirit. The Gift of Tears. Its difficult to find info, but if you dig on the internet you will find know more. Many saints had this gift.
And to Zemi, thank you. I too feel How Could I Ever Get Up?
Sincerely
