I think JP2 was quite possibly an antichrist. His activities as Pope are the reason. OTOH, it’s not hard to imagine that a Pope could be far worse even than JP2.
On the other hand (OTOH)…
John Paul II preached Jesus to more people in more places than anyone EVER.
John Paul the great may very well be the most awesome Pope we’ve ever had, or ever will. I do love and respect and honor our current one also, Pope Benedict XVI, and all those who have been our Pope’s since I was born. I actually prayed for our current one to be our Holy Father. I thank God for them!! The one’s I have known the most about were the current and the last.
John Paul II was not an enemy of the Gospel nor was he in opposition to Christ. Never did he deny that Jesus is the Christ. He believed in the Incarnation. Those who are antiChrist do such things. Shame on you for bearing false witness against him.
Our current Holy Father, Pope Bendedict XVI, loved John Paul II and was a great friend of
his. I read somewhere once (and normally I remember or have the sources, but…I can’t find
it for this), that John Paul II, once told then Cardinal Ratzinger, that God had great
things in store for him. That he, (Pope Benedict XVI, not yet then the Pope of course, would be), THE Pope of Vatican II. He sounds like someone who was filled with the Holy Spirit to me. (wisdom, understanding, councel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord),
When, on that last good Friday that he was able, Pope John Paul II carried that huge, heavy Cross through the streets, and then Cardinal Ratzinger stepped out from among the crowd and helped him carry the Cross, that is when I started praying, through tear-stained face, that he would be our next Holy Father.
Anyone who would say the things you have said about him, obviously hasn’t read the treasures that John Paul II gave our Church as he led us. I refer you to:
www.vatican.va
I refer you also to the great writings on this site that we are on and also to EWTN. You
obviously, although you’ve been on this forum for quite some time, have not taken in the
wealth of information that has been available to you. I suggest you get started. You know
NOTHING of John Paul the great, and it shows!
