Then she should be great at working with Congress, most of whom understand (and some of whom practice) unethical behavior. Also, don’t forget Clinton has been, or has been labeled, virtually everything: a Republican in her early years, a centrist, a moderate, a liberal, a progressive, a feminist, an opportunist, a warmonger. She should get along just fine since she can morph into anyone.
What label was applied to Mrs. Clinton when she got fired from the Watergate commission investigation team?

No debates between the two of them yet…
One on one - does anybody really think that Trump will do better than Clinton on the real issues??

Maybe not. If some country offers Bill Clinton a multi-million dollar “speaking fee” for Hillary not starting a war, it won’t happen. (Wonder what China would pay for Taiwan)
Now that is a sobering thought!

Great idea! Manchin is one of the Dems who shows common sense.
It’s a fun speculation. After all, if he was Trump’s VP, he would be the nominal heir presumptive to the nomination of either party after Trump. it would be fun to see the Dem party woo him to stay Democrat. The party might have to change its ways in that event.

I have had a problem with her ethics since the cattle futures scandal.
Long ago, I met the man (or at least one of them) who was one of the counterparties in Hillary’s cattle futures trading. He was lured into it by the broker, a fellow who went by the name “Red Bone”, who kept telling him to buy, buy, buy while Hillary was selling, selling, selling. I never met Bone, but I understand he was a very persuasive guy. Bone went long for Hillary, pumped the price up, then it collapsed when Hillary got out, bankrupting the man I met.

Red Bone eventually went broke himself, but not because of that.

One big problem with corruption is that it’s awfully expensive on the “paying end”. To artificially pump up a market for one person, people on the losing end have to pay a lot more than the favored person gets, and the “middlemen” want their piece too.

It’s like the old corrupt government construction contracts. It takes millions in public expenditures for one crook to make thousands.

That’s why I say Hillary Clinton is too pricey for the country. If Bill Clinton got half a million and more for one speech when she was Secretary of State, how much more would some country or interest have to pay him to buy the president of the United States? And how much would it cost us as a result?

And Donald Trump is accused of not knowing where he stands…

Hoping Trump wins big tomorrow and we can make progress toward November’s big one!

At the same time, I am thinking of the tremendous amount of recovery our country needs to make and its for sure that one man cannot do it all by himself. Everyone that hasn’t been able to do much toward making less of this last, soon to be ended, era of disaster will need to shake it off and get helping. This is what I fear in weaker moments - has it been too bad for too long?

Trump has convinced me that he is going to make priority #1 making our military strong. That is so good to get started - can’t happen soon enough! Our military have been suffering crushed morale, destructive social experiments, administrative marble heads over ruling military operations, and non replacement of vital equipment and numbers who serve.
This all needs immediate resolve - maybe he can get a lot of work done before he starts the job?

Just some thoughts the day before …

I think the fire is being turned up - Americans are ready to get working. This is what will get everyone together again and not being pitted against each other and our own selves.

Why do you keep asserting that I am retracting my statement that the Bible clearly states what the Bible states?

It does not simply state that the the slaughter happened; it clearly states that God commanded that it should be done: "This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

There are passages in the Old Testament that describe horrible things that different people did that are descriptive, but not commanded by God. This is not one of those passages.

There are also passages that are lyrical or hyperbolic, but are relating an essential truth. This could be one of those passages, but I am not going to try to judge or claim to definitively know the will of God. Our God is a God of Love, but also of Justice. And at times, as recorded in the Bible, He judged entire nations.
So your position is that God endorses genocide?

I will clearly and vociferously declare that as a Christian Catholic that I vehemently REJECT that view.

God does NOT endorse genocide.

You?

This is your view of the God you worship?

Contested covention and a great idea for Bernie.

But the polls from what I am hearing are now in real time slightly changing as the OP indicates because of Cruz affecting the Trump following of late. More Cruz followers are accepting Donald may be the nominee which accounts for slight fluctuation.

Have to see the following polls to know if any significance exists imho.
Contested convention would be great for Bernie, but I don’t think he’ll get it.

General election polls are a little too early to be of much value. However, I maintain that a Trump-Clinton contest will be a close one.
I think it will be, too. No runaways for either in this match-up.

🍿

I would be wary of trusting polls either way. They change constantly, everything that happens affects them on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. But the fact is the numbers are there for either Trump or Clinton to prevail. Just depends on who votes in November.
The electoral college counts the votes. They determine the winner not Gallup.

If direct quotes of what God has said that are written in the bible can be false (as in he never said any such thing), then how can we know that any other quote was in fact really said?

This is good news. I would hope that a conservative candidate would beat Hillary. It gives me hope for the future of America.
