Well we will have to wait and see. People said the Mueller investigation would yield nothing. And boy were they wrong. And trial for Manafort and Gates does not start until May. Mueller’s team has plenty of time.

It has yielded nothing in terms of its original mandate. The Manafort and Gates indictment is completely unrelated to the election or campaign.
There isn’t even anything yet on the podesta group, except by extension
 
For what it’s worth, I notice the word “collusion” does not appear in the document.

Unfortunately, the mandate authorizes a “fishing expedition” for absolutely anything, which is, in my opinion, a serious flaw in the appointment of “Special Prosecutors”. That’s why, for example, the underlying justification for the Special Prosecutor in Clinton’s case was supposed to be Whitewater, but ended up being about a blue dress. Similarly, the investigation that resulted in Scooter Libby’s wrongful conviction was for supposedly lying to the FBI, when the underlying justification for the investigation was the “outing” of Valerie Plame. She wasn’t really “outed” and the source of the information on her wasn’t Libby. But he was close to Bush, so he paid the price.

Special Prosecutors are given wide authority to investigate anybody for anything, but with emphasis on going after political people who are the “targets” of the investigation. Alan Dershowitz put it pretty well when he quoted Beria’s statement to Stalin “Show me the man, and I’ll find the crime.”

It shouldn’t have been done in Clinton’s case, or Bush’s or this one. I don’t think most people realize how easily a dedicated prosecutor with an unlimited budget can find a way to charge someone with a crime.

More like appropriate campaigning, I’d certainly try to ascertain their source for the leaked emails.
