He didn’t know. He was trying to express a frustrated journalist. Time to lay off; there is enough about Trump’s views on the issues and how he treats people generally not to vote for him, I think, without promoting a falsehood. No, he was not mocking a handicap…or even a disability…he was mocking a human being created by God who happens to appear physically different from others.
I wouldn’t take his word that the sun is shining. No, he does know the reporter and did not know the reporter was handicapped. Here is a statement from Donald Trump: click to enlarge. I personally dislike Trump however I will take him at his word that he wasn’t mocking a handicap here.
I’ve been saying the same thing for weeks. As a disabled person I am totally disgusted by his actions. When someone (I forgot who) called him a carnival barker, they hit the nail on the head.I sometimes think that he never expected this thing to catch on fire and go so far, to be taken seriously by so many, and that he’s starting to engage in self-sabotage to set the stage for such a downturn in his numbers that he can bow out. Certainly with his ego he could never walk away while he’s on top.
It seems to be, doesn’t it, just like Perot/Clinton in 1992?Getting Hillary elected is his objective.
Better question is how to create a smarter block of voters…the outcome is what the voters seem to deserve. It seems to be, doesn’t it, just like Perot/Clinton in 1992?
What do these tycoons have to gain by sabotaging the political process in favor of neo-liberalism???

I’m not a Trump fan, but I believe you are correct.I don’t think he knew the reporter was disabled and his foes jumped on it to attack him.
But in typical Trump fashion he hasn’t apologized or explained (yet.)
I was being facetious.Perhaps another word for ‘PC’ here would be civil. Or polite. Or kind. Or honorable. Any of those would do.
Exactly. His wild arm movement and such are not anything like arthrogryposis.Actually, although I’m not in the slightest bit interested, I hadn’t actually watched the video until just now.
In reality, he ‘may’ not have been imitating the alleged reporter, as his actions could have been his idea of being ‘funny’ and used against any person who had written the piece.
Actually, any one of the others!! God Bless, MemawAnd who do you think would be a better choice?
"Somebody at the financially failing and totally biased New York Times said that, over the years, I have met Mr. Kovaleski. Despite having one of the all-time great memories I certainly do not remember him," the candidate added.
Trump said that in his speech at the rally "I merely mimicked what I thought would be a flustered reporter trying to get out of a statement he made long ago. If Mr. Kovaleski is handicapped, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like. If I did know, I would definitely not say anything about his appearance."
In a subsequent statement, Trump demanded an apology from the New York Times and was critical of Kovaleski.
**
"Serge Kovaleski must think a lot of himself if he thinks I remember him from decades ago – if I ever met him at all, which I doubt I did.**
money.cnn.com/2015/11/25/media/donald-trump-serge-kovaleski/index.html"He should stop using his disability to grandstand and get back to reporting for a newspaper that is rapidly going down the tubes," Trump said.
Glad to know Ringil.I was being facetious.
I am relieved to see this statement because I did not interpret Trumps body language to be zeroing in on handicaps. No, he does know the reporter and did not know the reporter was handicapped. Here is a statement from Donald Trump: click to enlarge. I personally dislike Trump however I will take him at his word that he wasn’t mocking a handicap here.
Yep. I was going to share the post on FB with my brother, who was born with the same disability, until I watched the video and realized it was fake outrage.I am relieved to see this statement because I did not interpret Trumps body language to be zeroing in on handicaps.
I’ve seen others make those gestures MANY times with no inference to handicaps…could be a regional expression?
Exactly…All this outrage is affected, it’s not real. It’s merely virtue signaling.Funny, I don’t seem to recall this much outrage when ‘Family Guy’ mocked Sarah Palin’s son Trig who has Down Syndrome…where were you all then?
Peace, Mark
Family Guy regularly evokes outrage from things like this. Not everyone, of course, but not everyone is outraged over Trump’s actions. This is another case of “we may be bad, but others are worse”. Great defense! (?).Funny, I don’t seem to recall this much outrage when ‘Family Guy’ mocked Sarah Palin’s son Trig who has Down Syndrome…where were you all then?
