Donald Trump under fire for mocking disabled reporter

You would think people might hold a candidate for President of the United States to a bit of a higher standard than a cartoon. But, then again, we are talking about Trump so it’s an oddly appropriate comparison.
 
I saw the way Trump was raising his arms.

If you guys think it was ok, for a presidential candidate of the USA to do those types of mockery and then say, “Well, he didn’t know”. That should tell you that he is not a true candidate, he is a joke. Because first of all, no one, and I do mean no one, should do those gestures. Second, him as a presidential candidate, he should be more aware of what is going on and who says what.

I wish he would turn down the volume a touch because I think it distracts, but, come on, it’s not like he tried to murder someone over a radio station.

True, he did not murder anyone, ill give you that.
But he made that motion, whether he knew the reporter had some physical disability. And I say this very sincerely, no one, no one, should never make those movements because guess what? Some of us have family members who have some sort of physical or mental problems. (my sister has down syndrome and when someone says retarded, it upsets me, because my sister has mental retardation. I don’t like that word and whenever people say it, it pisses me off).

Trump is running to be the president of the USA and he’s mocking someone, guess what he says about others behind close doors?

I’m sorry, but your statement is ignorant. His gestures had nothing to do with the arthrogryposis, which is the condition the reporter has. If it had been more blatant, I could understand the outrage. It wasn’t. It was a general mockery of someone being dumb and/or feigning ignorance of earlier comments/action.

Trust me sir, I saw the video. I saw his actions. Why is he a grown up doing those gestures?

By your username, it says dad. If your little ones stick their tongue out after they did something wrong right as you turn your back, you would say, ah it’s ok their little. Trump sir, is a grown man. So if anyone is ignorant, is you 100%.

Lol. I’m apparently not a special snowflake and don’t take offense as easily. If he were genuinely mocking someone’s disability, I would be the first to complain. I don’t support yellow journalism.

Well, to me a grown man, should not do those actions. He should be aware of his actions. Imagine if Obama, had gotten on stage and started walking limp or like someone who has some issues with their legs, like a polio. Trust me people would be outraged. And I’m not Obama’s number 1 fan, but you know people would say, “How could he”.

That’s why I said what I said about Trump, he is a grown man, and if you sir don’t see that as offensive, well I guess your a different type of breed.

And by the way, my post was not ignorant, you just didn’t agree with it.

That is actually why I say you are ignorant. “walking limp or like someone who has some issues with their legs, like a polio” isn’t the same as mocking someone for acting stupid or ignorant. Arthrogryposis is a specific ailment. Are you actually familiar with it? It has nothing t do with what Trump did.

After watching the video, I tend to agree with your last sentence. I don’t believe he is mocking the disability, but instead the general waffling of the reporter’s comments.

Trump is not my front runner and I do believe he is overly rude and unnecessarily insulting many times, but I just don’t think that the disability of the man is what Trump is directing the gestures or the comments. I hope that is the correct assumption. I also believe he has a lot of good points on his political positions, but you kinda have to wonder if he will finally cross the line and makes the big blunder that sinks his ship.

Well said, JW55. I’m of a similar mindset. He’s not even in my top 5. I would vote for him vs the Democrat candidate, if it comes to that. This particular complaint is simple yellow journalism. People who are filled with hate will overlook that and use it as a sledgehammer.

In fairness, she was, awkwardly, trying to quote the author/poet. It was an embarrassing rendition, but her intent was not to ridicule or diminish.

Gee, I wonder what any politician says behind close doors. Personally, I think this is the Republican establishment trying to destroy him by making a story out of something that I don’t believe he did with direct malice towards the reporter. The establishment would rather hand the Presidency to the Democrats than let Mr. Trump represent the party.
