Seriously? No. The magical, mystical “establishment” has no interest in having a Democrat in office. Lol.
Sure they do. They don’t want to lose power. They’d rather have a Democrat than a Republican they can’t control.

I don’t really see Trump as being like Peter Griffin but I sort of do see Rush Limbaugh as like Eric Cartman.

I’m sorry. What does this have to do with the incident at hand? …other than your personal despite for the candidate?
It has a direct bearing on it. Ridiculing people with disabilities was very common among the Nazis in Germany.
I personally think Trump is not a serious candidate and is, to some degree, playacting. Like a reality star.
Nevertheless, real or not, his behavior is typical among people with a fascist bent.

I am relieved to see this statement because I did not interpret Trumps body language to be zeroing in on handicaps.
I’ve seen others make those gestures MANY times with no inference to handicaps…could be a regional expression?
Please dont call us “handicaps”.

We are human beings.

Seriously? You are going with “Nazis in Germany?” Wow.

Funny, I don’t seem to recall this much outrage when ‘Family Guy’ mocked Sarah Palin’s son Trig who has Down Syndrome…where were you all then?

Peace, Mark
There was, but not to this degree. Why? “Family Guy” wasnt running for President of the USA

I think a better comparison is when Obama made the joke on Leno about bowling like he was in the Special Olympics.

Gee, I wonder what any politician says behind close doors. Personally, I think this is the Republican establishment trying to destroy him by making a story out of something that I don’t believe he did with direct malice towards the reporter. The establishment would rather hand the Presidency to the Democrats than let Mr. Trump represent the party.
Why do you think the republicans want him out?

A new political video surfaced yesterday, I believe it’s governor kasich from Ohio, were he states that trump makes fun or attacks different groups.

One thing is being honest, another thing is just talking because you have a mouth.

The Republican establishment wants him out because he doesn’t need them and that’ll destroy their power base and nice insider incomes as consultants, lawyers, leaders of advocacy groups.

So Governor Kasich doesn’t like him? Who cares? The governor that makes a big point about attending gay marriages and didn’t back the heartbeat bill in Ohio.

Lets look at the chronology here.
Regular Atheist said:
That poor oppressed millionaire. Won’t somebody stand up for the rich white guy?
Donald Trump is edging close on fascism, if he isn’t one already, and I will mourn the global situation if he is ever elected.
To which you replied:

And I replied:

So yes, according to the underlined and bolded statements it is perfectly ‘serious’ to mention the most blatant fascists in history. Now, if Trump doesn’t like the comparison, maybe he should stop making statements that sound fascist. It’s a pertinent point.

To my understanding, yes kasich was the 1 who made the video, but other republican candidates supported the video.

I don’t think it’s a novel concept for politicians to try to bring down the frontrunner.

Here are some of the attributes of fascism. I worry about it, too.

The 14 Defining
Characteristics Of Fascism
Free Inquiry
Spring 2003
5-11-3

Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:
  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of “need.” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
And more here:

This is an important read no matter what one’s political persuasion.

In the beginning , I thought of Trump as nothing more than a blowhard reality show actor who spouted nonsense on Fox News.

Then I started to think he might be a viable candidate who might make a good president, despite his mouthing off on occasion. He seemed like a man who would get results because he knows how to run things.

At this point, I’d vote for an Obama third term before voting for Trump. And I think Obama is on the list of the worst presidents we’ve had.

If it comes down to Hillary v Trump, I’ll write in for either Agent Coulson or Jim Caviezel

Well…that is one way to avoid Godwin’s Law. 😃
Yeah, that’s the second time you said that.

Lets see. The Nazis had a database for Jews…Trump wants one for Muslims.
The Nazis had Stars of David for Jews…and so Trump wants something similar for Muslims.
The Nazis practiced torture…and Trump approves of torture.
The Nazis roughed up dissenters…and so do Trump supporters.
Both Hitler and Mussolini were loud demagogues…and so is Trump.

You want to address these comparisons or just keep spouting ‘Godwin’s Law’?
