Dear xxxxx,

My name is xxxxx. I am currently a voting resident of xxxxx. I am writing to you today to ask you to do what you can to create and pass pro-life legislation. Undoubtedly, all rights are important. However, without a guaranteed right to life, all of the rest are essentially without value. As a Catholic, I can tell you that this is a non-negotiable issue for us when it comes time to vote.

With Congress and the Presidency soon to be under Republican control, as well as a pending opportunity to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, all without obstruction by the Democrats, this is perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity to pass such legislation.

During this most recent election cycle, the Catholic vote was unfortunately divided. I believe that this can be at least partially attributed to President-Elect Trump’s not entirely clear stance on pro-life issues. But I also believe that a solid, pro-life showing by Republicans now could help lock in a significant portion of the Catholic vote, which comprises about 22% of the population, for future elections.

Pro-life issues are of the utmost importance to so many people, who understand that life begins at conception and ends at natural death. I ask you to take to heart what I have said, and to do what you can to protect those whose lives are threatened.

No it’s not a rejection of liberalism. It’s a rejection of establishment politics. Trump is not some right wing conservative. If Americans were actually going to reject liberalism then someone like Cruz or Santorum would have won the nomination/election and Obama wouldn’t have been elected 2x. Part of the anti-establishment vote that supported Sanders voted for Trump because they couldn’t stomach Clinton.

That’s the theory. Nominate Supreme Court Justices who will uphold the laws if they reach the Supreme Court. Thus, either the laws will be upheld when they reach the Supreme Court, or they will not reach the Supreme Court at all, because people are afraid of challenging them due to the fear that they will be upheld.

I think it’s very much in part a rejection of liberalism, particularly President Obama’s executive orders of which those issued in the second term had no comparison in terms of the first term with regard to the scope and potential impact. If you don’t think the general liberal/progressive ideal of government trying to lead the people, in fact impose the will of the “experts” on the electorate, instead of doing the will of the people played into this than you’re confused.

To some people liberalism is about moral issues, to some economic, to some both. But the general idea of liberalism was repudiated by those who voted from Trump.

All the Trump folks (and I’m not an HRC fan, I didn’t vote for her) are talking as if this is 1980 again. No, it isn’t. They are still counting votes, but Trump did not win an overwhelming electoral victory like Reagan did, and he certainly isn’t going to win the popular vote overwhelmingly like Reagan did. He could possibly lose the popular vote, which would make him the first “populist” candidate in history to lose the popular vote. Trump and his supporters do not have a giant mandate for their agenda, and this wasn’t a watershed election. This was one swing of the pendulum. If Trump does not somehow rise to the occasion, it could swing back again, in a big way.

Well, generally that doesn’t happen when one state is at war with another. We might not think of ourselves as at war with Iran, but the ruling clerics of Iran do.

Next time you take a Bayer aspirin, for example, remember that the American assets and patents of the German Bayer company were seized by this country, and never given back.

That money was in this country when Iran vowed to destroy the “Great Satan”. We owe them nothing. American courts ruled that victims of Iran have a claim to it. But the government paid them with taxpayer money instead.

Considering that every abortion is easily preventable through abstinence or illicit means like artificial birth control, I don’t see how it’s not a healthcare issue – is now a good time to ask why deliveries are still so obscenely expensive ($5-$6,000+) and abortions are so convenient (only $3-$400), or will affordable deliveries NEVER be part of the PRO-LIFE cause?

If you think someone who has praised Planned Parenthood for the “wonderful work” they do for women – “except for when it comes to abortion” – will help overturn Roe v. Wade, there’s some swamp land in Sheboygan I’d like to sell you.

Sad day for America. There will be a TON of “buyer’s remorse” in four years when Roe v. Wade is not only not overturned but when the rates of abortion have reversed trend and started to uptick again.

Abortions are cheap because the doctor has zero concern for the life of one of his patients …in fact he is out to kill that patient …he doesn’t have to be careful …he gets to rip and tear it. He has little concern for the other patient …he won’t necessarily see them again unless they desire a repeat abortion and if they die or are harmed the sacrosanct procedure and any bad press or consequences disappears lest any question the Abortion is a Right culture. He has no real need for liability insurance and no regulations on the facilities providing the services.

There is no concern for how the one patient feels in the aftermath and the other is in the trash.

Contrast that with the desire to care for two patients, the liability if anything goes wrong. The clinic and hospital and labs have a host of regulations in addition to 9 months of care before and 6 to 12 weeks after…

Well it is a rejection of establishment Dems like Clinton and all her back room deals, lies and corruption. If the Dems had actually put up a decent candidate they would have had a better chance. The fact that party heads colluded to favor Clinton over Sanders shows the party needs to make some massive changes to appeal to people that care about fairness in elections.

Exactly. Bullets cost far less than heart bypass surgery. Does that mean that we should make shooting heart patients legal? Of course not.

The price of killing someone is always pretty low. Keeping someone alive is expensive. That doesn’t justify allowing people to kill babies.

That she alienated independents enough that they voted for Trump shows how flawed of a candidate she was. Plus the corruption of Dem primary politics didn’t help them.
