Unfortunately you’re in the minority.

Fact is, unless there’s some huge scandal, women will pull the vote for Hillary in such numbers she’ll win the democratic nomination and the WH,

I saw Elizabeth Warren win over Scott Brown here in Massachusetts, and the post election data showed that it was women who overwhelmingly voted for Warren, despite her bogus Native American issue.

Jim
But would women vote for Carly Fiorina just because she’s a woman? Probably not.

You might be right. But most married women vote Repub. Not sure how many will vote for a liberal just because she’s a woman.

If he does that, Hello President Clinton. There is no way a third party bid doesn’t help the democrats and hurt the republicans.
Started my regimen of prayer and fasting today, to conclude with the election. Trump as a 3rd party candidate could be a disaster.

I’ve heard that over and over and I don’t buy it. If the 2 party choke-hold on this country’s political climate is ever to end, people need to stop being afraid to support viable third party candidates and stop listening to those trite ideas that no one can ever get elected unless they play by the same old, tired rules. If there ever was a time for the emergence of a multiple party system, this is it.
Although I will vote for Donald Trump (for anything) when hell freezes over, I am absolutely on board with this.

It is absolutely time for the monopoly that the two major parties have on our political system, at every level, to be broken.

I wish it were so, but I have no idea how this might play out or how it could happen. Our election system is antiquated and in need of repair.

Actually, if you could get Bernie and Donald to run as third party candidates, it could make for an interesting race. It could also break the stranglehold our two major parties have on our politics. More alternatives are never a bad thing.
I would like to see that!

What is the desired outcome here? More than two main parties, perhaps ten or twelve major parties? Candidates running without party affiliation? In that case, it may turn out that no candidate gets the required number of electoral votes. And then, the election for President would be decided by the House of Representatives, and the election of the VP by the Senate.

Trump is nothing but a bloviating gas bag.

He’s doing nothing but complain about the problems the country faces, excoriating those in power for not fixing them, without ever coming up with a concrete plan of how he would solve the problems.

A wall between the entire U.S./Mexico border? Most experts say that would be impossible in addition to costing billions to build, before you spend a single cent to man those walls. And he would “make” Mexico pay for it? Just how would he do that?

And will he handle the nation’s debt by declaring bankruptcy as he did four times with his business interests, each time giving away ownership as part of the deal? Will this mean that he’ll give China the entire West Coast in exchange for a reduced interest rate?

Considering China managed to do it long before the Industrial age by building the Great Wall for 13,771 miles of its border, I’m pretty sure the US could run a fence the 1,989 miles of our border with Mexico.

We give billions away annually to nations that hate us. I would expect we could divert some of that to our national security. Ultimately it would save us money to not have to constantly deal with the drug running and other crimes and illegal immigration occurring at our border.

How long did that project take?

If we can build a wall, couldn’t criminals dig tunnels, fly, cut, sail or find other ways around such a structure? It is not that we cannot build, well, something. The question is what can be done that would be worth the investment and do the job for which it was designed.

How long did that project take?
Hundreds of years as I’m sure you know…and that’s completely irrelevant. We wouldn’t be building a massive wall out of stone big enough to drive a car on top of using peasants for labor. We’d be putting in a fence using modern equipment.

What’s your solution to the border problem?

Trump’s supporters are mostly Republicans that are fed up with the GOP and it’s leadership. The GOP will still need those voters come November 2016. Calling them crazy and stupid, as prominent Republicans like John McCain are doing at the moment, doesn’t seem a good strategy for ensuring that they will support the eventual Republican nominee. Trump is a symptom of a problem with the GOP, but he’s not the problem. Taking him out isn’t going to fix the problem. GOP supporters who want a nominee other than Trump need to figure out a way to get Trump out without alienating his supporters. At the present, nobody seems to be at all interested in doing that.

That is an interesting point. Retaliating with what Rick Perry called Trumpism is not the answer, including making up the term “trumpism.” I think Jeb Bush took the best path so far. There are more choices than politically-correct blandness and abrasive aggression.

I think you’ve nailed it.

The wrong way to do it is the way Trump is threatening to do so.

The right way to make a viable 3rd party is to start from the ground floor, not from the top down.

Other parties have failed in this regard to garner enough strength (US Constitution Party, Green Party, etc.). But if it’s going to be done, it’s going to need a base to count on.

The Great Wall of China is an example, but not for the reasons described.

Despite the centuries of effort and the expense incurred, the GWC didn’t work. Infiltrators and attackers still got through.

The same would happen with our “Great Wall of Trump.”

The same submarines that now bring in drugs could bring in human beings; and the same tunnelers who get men out of MX prisons could get people under the wall.

It would only poison our relations with Mexico.

Whereas if you legalize drugs you shut down the Mexican Cartels overnight and save the billions we are wasting on the bogus war on drugs.

Not all women want a woman as President. Many of us work or have worked for a woman boss and in my experience they’re worse than a male boss. You know what to expect from a male boss but some women bosses are so eager to get to the top they’ll step on anyone to get there and back stabbing and gossiping isn’t beneath them either. I see Hilary as the best example of this. When the campaign gets in full swing, you may see some females repudiating Hillary as a candidate. I’d love to see Trump and her debating.

He may not be tactful, but I will take the blunt honesty any time over the majority of politicians who “speak” through spin doctors and speech writers. Trump is no dummy and he understands how to get a reaction from the vast majority of the truly apathetic voters who have been lulled to sleep with the same old politically correct “messages” from the candidates of the last few years. Ronald Reagan was criticized early in in his campaign too for being too blunt and not being “presidential” and that turned out ok.
With all due respect, how well do you think Trump would work with a Congress that might be Democrat? He’s used to having his own way, as does the current president, and I don’t think that has worked out well. He will just muddy the waters ala Ross Perot. Do you really want Hillary as president?
