What with all the recent murders, apparently, he struck a chord with the voters over the illegal immigration issue. It’s not rocket science.
Trump is plain spoken and rough spoken. Lots of people are no different, and are frustrated by the pussyfooting that goes on when political correctness requires that you tiptoe around any of the multiplying “third rails” political correctness has created.

I don’t favor the man as president. Sure don’t, because I don’t think being rough-spoken is an asset in a president and I don’t know that he can turn it off. Secretary of Commerce, maybe.

As a third party candidate, he would be a disaster for the Repubs, I believe, just like Perot was, because some people who like his directness and expression of their own frustrations will stick with him.

Well, it’s far too early for me to debating the presidential elections right now.

Need to get away from this stuff, for a while anyway.

God Bless All

Jim

Right now, I think people ARE interested in those who have come forward to be Republican candidates. Its not because there isn’t several months before action will be taken but because we have been victims of choosing such a sorry, dangerous, deceitful, stone cold, self worshiping individual for President. How so many could be so stupid is the real lesson to never repeat!

Donald Trump certainly speaks out in a distinctive manner that may not be comfortable to some, but he is telling it like it is! And, its refreshing. I will continue to pay attention to what he has to say and plan to equally hear the others… This time the gloves are coming off when the promoters of all things Clinton/Obama spout their plans for the continuation of ruin they have set in place.

So far, Jeb Bush and Rand Paul are at the end of the “choice” list.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton leads Bush, 50% to 44%, in a head-to-head match-up, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll out this week. But throw an independent Trump into that race, and Clinton’s lead grows significantly to 46%, leaving Bush at 30%.
Independents “decide the election every four years and if all of them or most of them go to Trump, that leaves the Republicans too small of a base to have any chance of winning.”

(In the most recent Post/ABC poll, 84 percent of Hispanics said they would “definitely” not vote for Trump.)

Criminal Inquiry Is Sought in Clinton Email Account - NY Times
WASHINGTON — Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday.
The request follows an assessment in a June 29 memo by the inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence agencies that Mrs. Clinton’s private account contained “hundreds of potentially classified emails.” The memo was written to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management.
It is not clear if any of the information in the emails was marked as classified by the State Department when Mrs. Clinton sent or received them.
But since her use of a private email account for official State Department business was revealed in March, she has repeatedly said that she had no classified information on the account.
The initial revelation has been an issue in the early stages of her presidential campaign.
Also, per Trump; seeing how his words were misinterpreted, I think his appeal to Hispanics can grow. Likewise, both majorities and minorities in the US, I think Trump could do well there. He did get some disapproval for things he said but may be able to ride it out.

My father is a retired Navy Captain, so my perception of leadership is modeled off of him. Trump lacks that humble gravitas. Lord help me if I have to vote for him. It’s a sad state of affairs. Still, this woman is never voting for a pro-choice candidate. I’ve often heard women being equated with the soul of a nation. If this is an apt comparison, then I think our soul has been co-opted.

This scenario is contingent on him to stop saying stupid things, and to never again say stupid things.

This requires more self-discipline and tact than Donald has thus far been able to muster.

Yes, much better to have a well scripted and focus grouped candidate that says absolutely nothing, but says it with “gravitas”.

A candidate being prepared is not a bad thing. It shows foresight and calculation, both admirable qualities you want for the most powerful man in the world.

Trump merely says inflammatory nonsense, which shows poor judgement and recklessness, both less-than-admirable qualities you do not want for the most powerful man in the world.

Like what? Can you cite an example and provide a reference I can check?
If you are not yet convinced by his musings on McCain and immigration, then I doubt that any quote or reference I could provide would meet your specifications.

Translation: “I can’t think of any to back up my statement.”

Your message should begin with the name of the perfect example of what we have at present and are desperate to have get OUT of office - Barack HUSSEIN Obama aka
“Barry Soetoro”.

When one looks at Lindsay Graham who said some negatives, or Rick Perry who also did along with McCain, it’s not hard to say that often, when a person is attacked, likewise, they may answer back negatively. In that light, looks like Trump can ride out this little kerfuffle.

At the same time, the immigration affair has not been proving to be a negative, in fact, on balance, perhaps it is a positive and it certainly is a positive in bringing attention to this matter.

Birtherism is a cancer on American politics.

At least bringing it up right off the bat in response to an unrelated statement saves one the trouble of figuring out how seriously to take the responder in question.

Then why did you bring it up? Do you think birtherism is worse than true trutherism ?
